Absolute HORRIBLE SERVICE. Took us 9 minutes exactly to be acknowledged and have someone bring us waters. Asked for the Frozen Margaritas, and the waiter brings us a watered down mix of what you call a margarita. Brings back a cup of ice to use as an alternative. (If I could leave a photo, you would see that it is simply juice). Server from the beginning seemed irritated to want to "wait" on us. His name is Chip. I constantly try different restaurants and eat at many different places often, and Ive never been so disappointed in customer service.

Not even friendly at the door. This is the first restaurant in the Sarasota area that has been a disappointment. We got Margeritas to start the meal and thats where it ended. My "frozen" margarita was just a warm poured mix (Have photo but dont know how to post). I said I got a frozen Margarita and the response was simply "Doesnt look very frozen". No offer of replacement so I asked for ice. Promptly asked for bill and left. Went a few doors down to MacAllisters, greeted kindly and meal was great.

Hard to find good Mexican around here- but this place had good tasting food all around to satisfy any Mexican cravings. Chips and salsa good - they have an extra hot salsa if you like hot! - Queso is some of the best I have ever had. Grilled chicken quesadilla was full and meaty. Tacos Chitchen Itza was on point. Service was lacking. Will go back again as seems to be the best place around right now.

Food is very good, margaritas are acceptable, service is sketchy at best. If they get busy at all everything falls apart. This has happened several times as Im local. Im pretty much done. Wish they could get it together. DosEquis on tap is the only reason I visit here anymore. And the tacos. Oh the tacos .

Service was okay, we tried a Molcajete which was good, but everything else was totally bland. The salsa, refried beans, guac and pico were all so devoid of flavor that they had to come out of a can or a bag. Probably a low sodium one at that. I think fans of Mexican food would be disappointed.

Casa Maya is a favorite for my fiancée and me. They have great food and an excellent owner. We always get the steak fajitas or the mochajete(sp?). Great indoor and outdoor seating. We really enjoy sitting outside on Thursday evenings when there is live music on main street.

If youre in Lakewood Ranch (named after the things that were bulldozed under to build it) and youre more adventurous than the average inhabitant who may not realize shrimp dont come out of the ocean breaded, then you have to go here. Molcajetes is wonderful.

Best Mexican food in Sarasota. Weve lived here for two years and been disappointed by the Mexican restaurants in Sarasota. Case Maya is excellent. The food was excellent and the service was quite good.
