My wife an I ordered sushi last night for pick up. When we arrived we told the hostess that we had a to go order, and she started scrambling around and told us that she gave our sushi to another customer. She called the other customer and told him that she had given him the wrong order. He said he would bring it back and exchange it . I explained to the hostess that I didnt feel comfortable eating the sushi that left the restaurant with a stranger. Who knows how long hed had it, or what had been done to it. I was very nice about it. The hostess didnt let me finish and rolled her eyes right in my face and stomped off. Then, she went out the back door for more than ten minutes while no one is covering the hostess stand. My wife and I watched at least two couples complain about the service and walk out because no one was there to seat them . Ichiban, I love the sushi , but your HOSTESS is WORTHLESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Had always been a great place to go. This past time however our orders came out wrong, which would typically not be a problem. Our waitress wasnt familiar with the menu and put in two wrong orders. Instead of owning up and admitting she messed up the order, she proceeded to argue with us. Insisting that the meal was the pretty much the same, and was actually better since we got more food. The meal we were served contained food items that neither of us would eat. This didnt matter either. She still insisted that we were wrong, and should accept the food we were given. Our waitress then proceeded to speak to us like we were children. To top it all off, she then suggested a distasteful reason as to why we would not get our proper meals, because Asian people were weird, strange and would not accept our request for the meals that we ordered. Kind of an insulting comment about your employer.

Pensacola Reviews
Everyone who has posted a bad review is obviously talking out of their... you know... Ive been going here for 4 years and every time is GREAT. yes sometimes its busy and takes awhile to be seated/served but that happens with every good restaurant (if you have ever been a server you understand the stress of being double/triple sat) . The food is AMAZING. seriously THE BEST PLACE for good sushi in Pensacola. Spicy tuna roll is better here than anywhere else because they use avocado instead of cucumber and you NEED TO TRY THE VOLCANO TOPPING. you can order it on the side of anything and i do!. *****Also the review about this place being racist... haha ok not everything is about race THAT IS COMPLETELY FALSE AND OUTRAGEOUS THAT ANYONE WOULD SAY THAT. They are amazing to EVERYONE

Great place, me and my husband went on a thursday night it was so romantic. We sat in a booth where you slip off your shoes and slide in to this dim lit booth very private which we loved. The waitress was so sweetly asian, she handed us hot towels which only few places do.The sushi was very tasty i got the pink Cadillac it had every kind of sea food you would want and is completely enough to fill a woman up. My husband got steak and chicken teriyaki with fried rice, when it came out it was steaming hot on a cast iron plate and the steak was unexceptionally large and defiantly not little strips. I had hot tea that was really nice also. When we first arived it dosent look like much but it really was a very nice place !!!

On vacation to Pensacola and stopped here for lunch because of the reviews. I cannot speak as to the quality of the food because we were never s served or even acknowledged after being seated, which happened to be right next to the hosted stand. Hard to claim they didnt know we were there. After watching the 3 parties behind us get seated and served, we chose to leave. We were not even acknowledged at that point, even though we had to wait for the hostess to move out of our way near the exit. I am not telling you to stop going there if you are a local and enjoy the atmosphere. Just be aware if visiting that this establishment clearly does not prefer customers of a particular color.

I eat sushi all over the country from Washington State to Miami, FL, and this is as good as any around. Everytime Ive gone in, theyve had and excellent selection of fish and since I mainly eat sashimi, this is important to me. They will also try and do anything that you ask for, even if it isnt on the menu. A lot of sushi places wont do this and will try to force you into the "chefs choice" for a sashimi plate, which is basically what they are trying to move if it is getting a few days old. It is always busy as well, so that should tell you something! Check it out, you wont be sorry.

Ichiban in Pensacola is one of the staple sushi restaurants. I remember coming here 15 years ago with friends and the quality of the food and service has always been above par. The owners will occasionally walk through and ask customers how things are and seem to have a genuine concern for the reputation of the establishment. I am a dedicated sushi consumer and have never been let down. The quality and freshness of the food is always top notch. For those who are unfamiliar with sushi the menu has all the ingredients and if the roll has raw fish as well as if the roll is spicy.

This is, by far and by any mean, the best sushi restaurant you will find in the area in a thousand miles range. Every single item of the menu is meticulously taken care of by the chefs. The quality of the ingredients is amazing, the fish is always the freshest you can taste. The appetizers, rolls and specials are superior to any other place Ive tried so far, (and being a sushi lover, this place is like the paradise for me). If you love sushi and you want to have an unforgettable culinary experience, Ichiban is the place to go. Five deserved stars.

This is a tiny little spot thats always busy, but totally worth it! The staff was very friendly, attentive, food was prepared quickly considering being packed and we ordered a lot of sushi, atmosphere and decor were nice, and no bad fishy smell. The ONLY complaint I have is that there are only maybe 2 rolls with NO salmon in them. As a person that will not eat salmon, this was frustrating. Perfect for a lunch or dinner date, not so much for groups larger than 4. It is a small seating restaurant.

The waiter got my order wrong. He also got my wifes order wrong. Place used to be good. I dont know what happened. What they forgot on the roll they provided on a plate and charged price for a sushi roll! When I tried to order something else because my order was wrong the sushi chef said the kitchen was closed he was very rude and made the experience very uncomfortable. Thats a nice way to treat your active duty members who just came back from deployment. Very patriotic...

My suchi was served the crab burned and flipped over the suchi so I dont see it. The waiter looked like he hated his job he recommended a noddle type of food for the children yet it was sooo bad, I ordered two of those but they wouldnt take it off the menu and he took the plates without even asking off our table...it elses a very bad experience, I do not ever recommend this place to anyone ..i should give it minus hundred and not just one.
