First and last time ever going here. I just left from Horizen and Ill have to say this was the worst experience Ive ever had at a restaurant. I was seated in a timely manner. The waitress asked me what kind of drink I wanted. I asked for a little help on how the AYCE goes. She advised me to pic 6 things off the list. I only picked 4 since I wasnt familiar with their food. Within about 10 minutes she brought out 2 of the 4 things I ordered. about 30 minutes passed and I was looking for the waitress to see when the rest of my food was coming out but I never saw her. Soon as I was waving the owner(im assuming), the waitress pops up. I inform her that she never brought the rest of my food out but I have since ran out of time and I have to get back to work and I needed my ticket. She brings the ticket, still charging me for $11.99 + the drink she never came to offer to refill. At this point I was HEATED and because I knew I would blow up if I said anything, I paid for it but that is the last $14.00 that place will ever get from me. In 1 full hour the waitress never came to my table, never made sure I was okay, never offered to fill my drink. The food was mediocre. I would recommend Kappa for anyone looking for a nice Japanese Restaurant.

Horizen is a good sushi restaurant, though Id stop short of saying the "best" in Pensacola. First, Horizen uses a vareity of sushi chefs while my current favorite, Sumo Sushi, has only one. Hence quality control can vary between chefs. The menu is vast, which is possibly another liablility. When I recently stopped in for lunch, some items (specialty sushi rolls) were clearly superior to other items (California roll, cucumber salad) that had a mass-produced feel. Ambience is so-so with an open floor plan, a myserious curtain at one end of the restaurant, and cheap-looking paneling and decorations. The sushi bar is long and provides good viewing of preparation. Lunchtime service was adequate with prompt and friendly service. The wine and beer selection is good with several quality offerings from microbreweries available. Price is definitely reasonable. Overall, Id certainly eat here again though I dispute the claims that this is "the best sushi in Pensacola."

Horizon is absolutely the best place in Pensacola for sushi. they have both expensive, and inexpensive sushi rolls. They sometes have deals on the more expensive rolls, and I suggest you take them up on it. I have the white tiger roll today for $3 off $11, and I did not regret it. Also, if you have never had edameme, please try it here. Yum! The fish is SO fresh and tasty, and unlike some sushi places in the region, you can see where they make it. I could not be more pleased with horizon! I have been there multiple times and have never had bad service or disappointing food. Side note: there is usually an old Asian gentleman and who I believe to be his wife working the front. They are so pleasant and happy to be there. I believe they must be the owners. I think they add a little extra pleasantness to an already outstanding outing. Kudos horizon, kudos!

I was recently in town on a business trip and ordered my dinner from here for takeout. To start things off, my salad was not great. Weird choice of lettuces (more nutritious but far less tasty than you classic ginger salad iceberg), not so great ginger dressing, and some pieces of lettuce that were rotten. My sushi rolls were terrible. I did not order anything special or complicated, just basic 2 ingredient rolls. Fish was neither fresh nor well prepared/cut. The rice was overly sticky and had a bad flavor when I attempted to eat just that. The one saving grace was the ginger, I love pickled ginger and that was actually pretty good. Overall, I would not recommend this place for sushi. They did seem to have a cool patio, may be nice for cocktails or hanging out, and there regular food may be ok- I just havent tried it, but just steer clear of the sushi.

We eat there once a week and have since it opened. Tempura Udon, Yakiatori and the Madis Gras Roll are the absolute highlights for our family of 6. The fried dumplings (gyosa) are all freshly hand made and are out of this world. Bento Boxes and the best ginger dressing too. All ingredients are fresh not canned and there are no additives so it really has taste (stocks for the soups are from real chicken/beef/seafod) and made on the premises. We have a number of allergies and they are able to accommodate all of them or said that would be a problem to adjust. Highly reccommend as one of the favs for your food dollars.

Not sure what happened with my order but the rice was terrible, fish had an odd taste and looked like it was spoiled in some areas. I ended up throwing away the near $60 worth of food (which did not at all match expectations). Would rather go to Kappa for the all you can eat budget sushi than eat here again.

Good sushi place, dont listen to the naysayers who tried to eat a meal in a sit-down restaurant and got upset the staff didnt drop what they were doing to cater to their whim. If youre looking for fine dining, this isnt the place. But if you want a good, moderately priced sushi roll, look no further.

If your looking for an AYCE sushi restaurant (lunch) this is an option. Not the best Japanese cuisine I have ever had, but it will fill an empty stomach. I believe the AYCE is $11.99. Sushi is included on the menu along with other typical items such as edamame, General Tsos chicken, miso soup, etc..

A friend dragged me here because I typically dont like Japanese food even though I like most all of the other Asian Foods. The food here appealed to me very much I tried several types of the all-you-can-eat varieties available and they were all just delicious.

Great all-you-can-eat lunch buffet around $10 per person that has sushi and other dishes on the menu. The buffet runs from something like 11am-3pm, but dont quote me on that. Nice atmosphere, you see a lot of business lunches here.

Poor service, my fiance found hair in his food, and they gave us no price adjustment, it took entirely too long for our food to arrive considering there were only two tables inside, I do not recommend, find somewhere else

The all you can eat menu for lunch and dinner is expansive, everything from sushi, to plate lunches and appetizers. The food itself is okay, and the staff is respectful, but not too personable.
