If you reside in Pensacola, Fl or if you are simply visiting the area , Kappa is a great location for an "all you can eat" sushi lunch. If you are a sushi lover like myself, Kappa offers a great selection for a very reasonable price ($11.99 for all you can eat, $3.99 for children). What makes Kappa a great dining experience is the fact that all their sushi is fresh and made-to-order. Many would complain that the food service here is slow, however, please take into account that nothing is pre-made. The highlight of the dining experience is definitely the sushi (over 35 different types to choose from), but the all you can eat menu offers a variety of appetizers to choose from while you wait on the main course. The wait staff at Kappa has always been very friendly and willing to accommodate any request. If I had to say anything negative about Kappa, it may be that the exterior building needs a fresh coat of paint and the interior needs new flooring and booths. With that said, I feel Kappa is a great value and worth consideration.

I would rather stab myself in the face with a rusty ice pick than ever eat here again. The sushi buffet is a terrible joke. Ive never seen so much rice combined with so little fish. They make you agree to pay full price for each roll if there is leftover rice on your plate. Then they dump tons of rice into everything! The tiny sliver of salmon that came with the giant blob of cream cheese made me feel like they literally wanted to insult me. Ive been all over the world and for the money $20 on a Sunday, Ive never felt so ripped off. The waitress is nonexistent even though there are only 4 seated tables. Her English is poor, which isnt a problem really, but she clearly had no patience for me when asked to repeat herself. The salmon was pale orange, cut razor thin (nigiri) and low quality. Ill never come back, but the hibachi chicken was pretty tasty and kept me from making a real scene.

I came here about a month ago and it was very well rounded. In an awful sense. My friend had to wait about 20 minutes to receive a new water after her first one had food floating in it. After about 30 minutes three out of seven entrees came out, followed by soup and salad. (Strange logic. Soup and salad usually comes first and it should not take half an hour for it to come out) about 15-20 minutes later after the folks who HAD been served had finished their entrees, most of the rest came out. It took another 10-15 for the remaining two rolls of sushi to come out. The waitress never once checked on us. The sushi wasnt even anything to write home about. It fell apart easily. It was an all around disappointing experience. If you want amazing sushi that you will never be disappointed by, go to NOM! That place is freakin awesome.

We wanted to try something new and decided to stop by for dinner. When we walked in, it should have tip us off that there was only 1 couple in there and they didnt seem pleased. The waitress was rude and took her time to come to our table for our drink order. We ordered steamed rice to start for our picky eater and she brought out fried rice when I said that wasnt what we ordered she rolled her eyes made a face and came back with the steamed rice. We wanted to try the all you can eat menu but when we tried to order she got mad and rudely corrected our paper so we got up and left. Worst experience ever. Was excited to try a new place but will not go back there and I have a lot of friends who would have tried it as well but the waitress just lost the restaurant a lot of business. What a shame.

I love sushi. Ive visited pretty much every location that offers it and this restaurants sushi is okay. The reason I rank this a 3 is because they have good food items on their cooked menu, but there needs to be a little more work on the sushi. Whats wrong with the sushi? They use way too much rice on the rolls. Its literally a roll of rice with a tiny bit of seafood on top or inside. When I pay for sushi rolls, Id hope to pay for the fresh seafood within the rolls, but here Im paying for rice. Ive come back a few times thinking that it may just be the sushi chef at the time, but I get disappointed every time. If you want cooked Japanese food, then this is a acceptable spot. If you want sushi, I recommend going elsewhere.

My review on the Buffet This used to be my favorite sushi restaurant of all time, this isnt the case anymore the amount of fish to rice ratio has become almost unacceptable. Lunch is somewhat worth it (still sour over the sushi thing), but dinner isnt really worth it in my opinion. This all happened around of the beginning of summer when they took off the sashimi from their menu but if you have come here before and like everything else besides the sushi then this place is great still note that the steak has been taken off the lunch menu but is still available during dinner. last time Ive eaten here was the end of summer vacation this year. So maybe it has changed between then and now.

Worst night of sushi ever!! If you like thin slivers of fish and piles of rice, go here. We told the waitress, and she literally turned th e plate around to my husband, pointed at the pathetic roll, and told him to eat the one roll, and to not eat the other roll, and she wouldnt charge. Yep, we go out to eat on date night to be patronized and treated like children. I hope they read this review and understand the sarcasm, but highly doubt that. Very displeased. Never going here again. Please go to Fuji Hibachi, 5 minutes down the road. So much more worth it, and for the same price or less. Ask for Sut, hes awesome. Forget this place. Kappa IS HORRIBLE!!

Went there today and the waitress was absolutely horrible! Putting water in my soda then acting like it was our fault that she did it. Then about an hour of waiting just to tell us that they havent even began to make our sushi.. to top it all off she snapped at us and raised her voice to us when we told her that we were leaving and wanted to pay for only the drinks and appetizers that she brought us.. when she brought us our check she still charged us for the food we didnt even receive and they did not even make.. this is the worst experience Ive ever came across at any restaurant EVER... WILL NOT BE GOING BACK...

This place is THE BEST RESTAURANT I have ever been to. I have been stationed here through the NAVY for the past year and I am pretty sure I have been here at least 60 times. No lie. I always get the all you can eat option and the pricing is not bad for what you get. The soup, salad, gyoza, SUSHI(titanic roll especially), fried rice, crab Rangoon are all fantastic! We even came for a friends birthday and they gave him a free ice cream dessert. The staff obviously knows us by now and are always welcoming and friendly. I LOVE KAPPA. I will be very sad to leave Pensacola mainly for this restaurant.
