Well the outside of the building is VERY misleading. It looks like a top-end restaurant, it could not be further from the truth. The decor is dated to the late 80s- early 90s. The service is okay, but far from what I was expecting. Also, the name Kobe Steaks leads you to believe that they have Kobe beef, they have one cut and thats a Kobe sirloin; not even a filet. When we ordered, I got the filet, chicken, and lobster. My friend ordered the salmon and shrimp (I hate salmon). The chef was very awkward, but funny. However, he cooked my lobster along side the salmon, in turn, absorbing all of the fishy flavor of the salmon, leaving it inedible. The filet, however tender, lacked any flavor. The chicken, while dry, did have flavor; freezer burnt and old. My friends salmon was absolutely disgusting. I did say that I do not like salmon, however, I do know when it has been cooked properly, and this was not. Their fried rice was probably the best Ive had. The restaurant was also out of shrimp sauce, on a Friday night... seriously? As a server myself, I take pride in noticing when my customers are anything but satisfied. The servers at Kobe Steaks obviously lack this skill. The mere look on our faces were enough to tell you that we were not happy with our food. When asked how everything was I replied with, "Eh, its just okay." The server replied with,"Good, very good." No it was not good, it was horrible. Dont waste your money here. It is over priced and definitely not worth your money. Now I have $80 worth of leftovers that I will end up throwing away.

I ordered the filet, shrimp, scallops and chicken; I received a 6oz filet, chicken breast, 3 pieces of shrimp and 4 scallops. My 7 year old son ordered only steam rice but he received 2 pieces of appetizer shrimp, 4 pieces of brocolli and 1 scallop, He didnt order an entree! I expressed my concern to the short dark haired Japanese man at the check in desk and he responded that the portions are smaller, with this entree you get 2 shrimps and 4 scallops but apologized for the cook offering items to persons that did not order and/or pay for them. I still did not get correct portions even according to his explanation and if some items are NOT of full portion, it should be noted because it definitely wouldve played a role in my decision of ordering that entree. This was my first unpleasant dining experience, the only acceptable service was the bartenders during our hour and half wait but I will NOT be back! Service, Dishonestly and the price I paid for the value of the entree.

If youve never been to a Japanese hibachi restaurant, its fun. The chef puts on a show of preparing your food as you sit around a large grill. The food is not spectacular. Well the steaks were good. But the seafood ends up way overcooked and rubbery. We also had an issue of some bug crawling on the bowl of rice that was brought to the grill. When we mentioned it to the server who brought it out (he didnt seem to understand English), he took the bowl away and then brought it back again with the bug still crawling around. We finally got someone else to take it away and bring a fresh bowl of rice. At least the manager gave us a discount.

We have been going to Kobes since they opened way back then. We was sad to hear tonight of their closing on July 15,2017. Where we going to go now for special times? Farr and Kazoo was there when we started taking our two sons there for their birthdays and later Eric moved up to management and we could laugh and joke with a lot of the them. Ry and Sang are two of our favorite cooks along with Issac waiting on the tables We will greatly miss they times we spent at Kobes We plan on going a few more times in the next two weeks so we can visit with all the friends we have made there. This place has really gone downhill. While the food was good and the cook was great. The service from our waitress was horrible. For what the food cost you would think they could update their furnishings. The couches in the lounge are so old and they smell from 40 years of God knows what. We were ask to take our shoes off to sit.....not a problem we have been here several times....I took of my shoes and the floor was wet. So both of my socks were wet for the entire meal. My socks were also black when we left. Yes i they were white when I put them on this evening. Gross!

Ive been going there for years. It is, to this date, my favorite restaurant. Food is always good, though a bit high in price, Id say its worth it. Experience is good. The chefs are usually friendly, accurate, helpful and entertaining. You have choices in where and how you sit....on the floor, on a pillow with your shoes off...or in a chair like most places. The waiting area is full of nice couches, opposed to those hard benches and chairs in most restaurants. They also have a nice little bar to wait at. :) Ive never had a bad experience at Kobe Steaks.

For this one visit, this should be a 2-3 star review. Normally, I would give a 5 star review, but Sunday was understaffed (3 waitresses on duty a couple of days before Valentines). Our table of 8 spent more time waiting than anything else. The food was amazing, like always. The chef did a great job cooking the food, but he wasnt a showman. The bar tender was great as well. TLDR; good food, slow service.

Pros. Nice looking, great staff, awesome fried rice, veggies were great too. Cons. Poor ventilation ( too much smoke from all the grills burned my eyes), scallops were disgusting, not a very good beverage selection, ginger sause was too runny, over priced for the quality. My wife and I have enjoyed great hybachi together elsewhere for the price of my bill alone last night.

This is a mainstay in Nashville, from the 70s. Yes, the décor hasnt changed much, which is the beauty of the restaurant. The atmosphere has remained the same through the years, so for us who remember when it opened, it is wonderful that there is still a place that is reminiscent of the past. Get to know the staff, they will do what they can for you. We love going!

I was in town, from Indiana, on Valentines Day with my kids. We had a great experience. Food was great, entertainment was great. We had a blast. I would highly recommend this to someone that is going to Nashville. You never know when you buy a Groupon, or book something online, but this one turned out great.

The food was wonderful! The staff were extremely pleasant! But....the vent in the ladies restroom was black with soot and the ceiling around it as well. The lounging couches were dingy and not very pleasant. I just didnt feel like it was a clean environment especially having such wonderful food and staff.

Great place, very quaint unique environment. Food were superb! My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here and we were both thrilled to dine here. You will totally enjoy doing here. The waiter was attentive and very professional yet friendly. I highly recommend to all my friends and family
