I´ll i try to make this as short as possible. I wish i could give MINUS, but I had to give one star in order to be able to publish it . Excuse me if its too long. I have been to MANY places in the world, visited many countries and have been to numerous restaurants and I can EASISLY say that this restaurant is without a doubt the WORST restaurant I have EVER been to. Lets begin with when we tried ordering the food. When we told the waiter what we wanted, he started shaking his head and said " No no, you dont want to order this. Its horrible and dry." He then "recommended" the "best" dishes they had, which were not much to brag about. He only recommended high priced dishes. And after we werent allowed to have the food we wanted, accepting the dishes he want us to have, the dish wasnt even carrying the items he mentioned. We were 4 people and it was 2 shrimps in entire "grill mix". Now the tasting. The taste was absolutely AWFUL. No spices or any kind of taste was added. It felt like someone threw ashes from a cigaret in the curry and we were eating the cigarets. Even after accepting this we thought we would make it tasty with some chutney and red pepper. But when we asked the waiter to bring us some of that, he apparently did not like that and just brought us one of the things. We then had to ask him again to bring the chutney as well and not just the red pepper. And that he didnt like doing either. So Im guessing this was not his kind of job. After all this, we payed up and left. It didnt stop there. He ran after us because he wanted tip after this service so he asked for one of the receipts he had given us. When we said we had binned it he got mad and asked us why we would do that. We then had to go back inside so he could get a new receipt we could sign for him and THEN we were allowed to leave the restaurant.

8/8/ 17. Update. I recently purchased a Groupon because the last time I went here it was a wonderful experience. However this time it was completely opposite except for the service. The service was good but the food and the additional charge for extra peppers and onions. They also charged gratuity for 3 people, seriously? The sign on the door stats let the server know if you have any coupons before ordering, seems interesting. We were going to order individual platters of appetizers but opted for the vegetarian platter thinking it would be better, it wasnt. Came with 1 samosa, less than 5 pieces of the other apps. The food was also on the skimpy side and didnt taste as good as the last time. The server did offer us free rice pudding which was ok. Overall I will not be going back here. Im not sure if it was because of the Groupon the portions were smaller or what. Ill be asking for a refund for the other Groupons I purchased. Original post back in 2013: Great food and service, they have some very tasty veggie food and deserts. And there service is great as well. Definitely recommend this place to everyone.

This is the most horrible restaurant I have ever been to. I should have paid more attention to the reviews. I wish I could somehow give it a 0 star. The interior was a mess of course - not clean. We ordered an idly/sambar, lamb vindaloo and paneer makhani for 2 adults and 2 small kids. When the waiter brought the idly in 5 mins, we realized that it was microwaved. It was very dry and was probably made from some instant mix. There was no chutney. When we asked, the waiter said it doesnt come with the chutney. Honestly which serious restaurant serves like that. The sauce in both the paneer and lamb vindaloo tasted alike and was perhaps made from canned tomato puree. The smell was clearly there. Overall it was a disgusting experience. But what put it over the topic was the check. There was an 18% gratuity already added to the bill which made it $50. This is the first time I am taking the time to write a review because the restaurant is that bad. a

Went to this restaurant April 2016 on a Monday night, family of 5. We were the only table in the restaurant and we waited 45 minutes for the entrees. The waiter was friendly, thought recommended the most expensive dishes on the menu. We took his suggestion for the appetizer, vegetarian platter, and it was very bland (and small for the $18). They waiter was diligent about refilling our water (note: no liquor license), and the food was decent when it arrived. Not the best Indian weve had but very decent. When the bill arrived, 15% auto-gratuity was added to the bill. The menu specifically said parties of 6+ would have auto-gratuity. The bill also noted an additional line for tip and stated the amount for 15% and 20% EXTRA tip. I think not. Overall, I wouldnt recommend this restaurant nor would I be visiting again. The staff was friendly and the food was fine, but the overall experience wasnt great.

Other reviewers are right. The guy who seems to be the owner, SALEEM, is a real crook. I ordered food worth of $53.85 for "TO GO". Went to pick it up inside the restaurant and found, Saleem gave himself a tip of $10.32 for God knows what. Had to pay $68 (incl tax). He didnt deliver the food to my car or anything. I had to go all the way to the kitchen to find some staff member. Now I understand he might want to build a bigger and cleaner restaurant very quickly, but I disagree with swindling customers. His prices are 15% higher than other Indian restaurants in the neighborhood and food is strictly on par. I am being nice by giving them a star. It was WORST experience ever in my life. Never visit this Restaurant even if they give you food for free. Firstly they were not ready to honor the groupon we had purchased saying their cash counter could not accept. After 20mins of arguing they accepted and got us half portions , the service was so bad that it took them an hour to bring us the half portions. They cheat people with groupons as we could see that folks without groupon were getting full portions. Secondly they applied 20% gratuity for a party of 2. Please stay away from this restaurant guys since there are lot of other good places in beautiful town of Orlando. Note to the owner and the slim waiter who acts like a manager - STOP DOING FRAUD BUSINESS, YOU WONT GET AWAY WITH IT

The food here is outstanding! We ordered shrimp with Briyani, butter curry chicken and Garlic Nan. I cannot believe how good this is. The taste is wonderfully authentic, the ingredient of the dishes is so refined and the aroma of the rice and dishes, to me is THE BEST I have had in a very long time. My last great experience of nice Indian food was in NYC in a restaurant called The Jewel of India. Darbar has the same, if not better. Strongly recommend anyone who loves Indian food to visit Darbar. The service is great and even the chef who cooks these wonderful dishes is so friendly. Thank you Darbar! I totally enjoyed my dinner tonight.
