Update: 6 Aug NOW THEY HAVE OYSTERS SHRIMP AND CRABLEGS! I had delicious grilled shrimp on bed of rice EXCELLENT! Everything was really good! I love the sides we had mac/cheese. Potato salad, collards, green beans. All delicious! I love this place but live too far off (265 miles) to get here as much as Id like! Update: Stopped in again 6 Apr 2017 was crowded for dinner 6:30. I have small child we sat on patio. I LOVE THIS FOOD! I had chicken wings off the grill! Im telling you chicken wings places sell junk, these are REAL WINGS tasty no,sauce needed. Mac and cheese green beans and potato salad all delicious. Dont let small place fool you this food has big taste! I wish I lived closer If be here more than monthly! Latest trip here I had fried green tomatoes! Good stuff spicy dipping sauce hand breaded when you order! Ive been here few times and each time I try something new..ALL ARE WONDERFUL. They have a board with specials I tried chicken kabob Rice and salad.. To die for good. Kabobs flavorful loved the rice it was spicy just right! Salad had no iceberg boring lettuce was made with crisp romaine lettuce. Good salad. This place has great food its a simple small dining place like 12 tables, service was attentive friendly and food is exceptional. I like the pork sandwich I had them put coleslaw on it..tastes just like NC BBQ! Side orders are all homemade Ive had potato salad, sweet potatoes, slaw, and baked beans, and rice pilaf and all are delicious. Also have screened porch to eat outside. Ill be back its the best BBQ Ive found!

Restaurant was completely empty at 6:00pm, which I should have recognized as a sign that eating there was a terrible idea. I ordered the 5 piece grilled shrimp plate for my 8 year old son, and didnt realize until he Had finished 4 of them that they were severely undercooked (still translucent and gray on the inside). The Sliced pork was average, mac and cheese was slightly cooler than room temperature (like it was made days in advance and a poor attempt to warm it up in a microwave was made), green beans were absolutely horrid, potato salad was so-so, and corn on the cob was soggy and flavorless. Id already decided that we wouldnt be eating here again, but then the bill arrived and I really started to get upset. We were charged an extra $1.99 for a an extra side dish with the 5 piece shrimp plate, even though the menu clearly states that ALL dinner plates include 2 sides. My daughters brisket sandwich was $2.00 more than the price in the menu as well, and when I asked about it, the waitress simply pointed to a hand printed price on a white board behind the counter that showed the (new?) higher price. Lastly, we were charged $2.00 for the tap water that we drank with our meals ($0.50/glass). Absolutely terrible experience, and we will definitely not be back. This is the first review Ive ever written for a restaurant, as I usually dont like to blast an establishment for one bad meal, but this was truly an exceptionally wretched experience

Takeout first visit.. I ordered the ribs and wife got the beef brisket. Meats were room temperature and were below average. Each platter came with 2 sides. Bakes beans and French fries were decent. The sweet potatoes (room temp again) and potato salad the wife ordered were below average. I have had plenty of BBQ in the past and this place is at the bottom. Wont be coming back!

The food and service were really good. I really enjoyed the country atmosphere as well. It was nice to listen to country music radio - even the waitress was singing along. I ate the pork sandwich, cole slaw, and potato salad - all homemade and tasty. This is a great place to come with your family or even by yourself. I hope to return and try their other meats and sides.

Great service and great BBQ. Tried this place on a whim after riding all day out at Alafia, and was very pleased. Im an east Carolina BBQ girl, and even though it wasnt exactly like back home, the vinegar based sauce was a close second! Also the coleslaw is amazing, never thought Id taste another coleslaw recipe so close to my old family recipe. We will be back!

Really bad :( barbecue is one of my favorites and I was and still am pretty disappointed. They messed up my order and gave me the wrong meats, very small portions, the meats were undercooked and lacking in flavor, also; nothing tasted fresh. The sides were barely edible. Really stinks. This place is close to home and I really wanted to love it.

Stopped for lunch and had the small brisket sandwich. Very tender and juicy. Great flavor. Will be back for the pork sandwich. Coleslaw had hint of the Carolina vinegar flavor, not my fav but others might love it. Very friendly staff. The owner came out to check on me and gave me tips on slow smoking brisket. Will definitely be back.

Everything was exceptional, service , food and atmosphere. I had a burger, cooked perfectly, medium along with the best fries and baked beans I have ever had. Truly up a level from any other BBQ or burger joint I have been to. Everything is cooked fresh on outdoor grill and smoker. Cant say enough about this place.

Sliced pork was tender, but ribs were a bit tough. Unfortunately, lighter fluid taste on areas of the meat. The potato salad was good, but the bigger onion pieces should either be left out or be more finely chopped, as the larger slices of onion overwhelm.

This is the best bbq place I have ever been in, you can taste the woody flavor in every bite, simple and quiet place, the waitress is very friendly and nice! If you want to enjoy a good dinner this is the right place! Highly recommeded

Great food big portions! Great sides and bbq. We hadmac cheese, green beans, collard greens and potato salad ALL DELICIOUS. pork sandwich with cole slaw and Brisket sandwich were really good. Fast friendly service too, We will be back!

I stopped in on a Sunday afternoon for a quick bite. Had the 1/4 chicken, mac n cheese and cole slaw. The meal was great. I liked their hot bbq sauce with my chicken. The servers are all great and I like the cowboy theme decor.
