Ichiban Buffet is a great buffet that took the spot where Barnhills used to be. Ichiban boasts over 150 items daily which seems to be the case since every time Ive dined at Ichiban I have tried something new or seen something new on their buffet. The interior and exterior of the restaurant is well kempt. Bathrooms have always been clean, floors vacuumed, windows are not smudged, etc. This really sets the tone to me and separates them from the other dingy strip mall Chinese buffets. Wait staff is kind, warm and attentive to diners needs & requests. I do not understand the other reviewers statement that they steal customer credit card numbers, this is NOT the case. I have dined here about five to six times and have always used my card. You will find the typical asian-american fare here on the buffet you have chicken, beef, rice, noodles, soups, dumplings, etc. Sushi and sashimi are available prepared by sushi chefs with the usual fixings of fresh ginger and wasabi. What I find to be a great option that separates Ichiban from the other buffets is they have a habachi grill, you can portion out as much food as you would like and have it cooked fresh for you with whatever sauces you prefer. There are also options for kids or those who do not want asian food which consist of pizza, french fries, chicken nuggets, etc. There is an assortment of fresh fruits, vegetables, cakes, cookies and desserts for diners to enjoy. Overall Ichiban gets an A+ from me, they have brought life back to the iconic Barnhills building. Hopefully the renovation of Lake Square Mall will bring even more life to the area.

Went to dinner to celebrate my nephews birthday (a minor) I had family come in from out of state and some from the local area, when telling the waitress it was his birthday, she mentioned he gets a free buffet. She requested to see his ID. unfortunately he was a minor and didnt have his ID, he did take a photo of his restricted D/L he just recently obtained. Well I wasnt aware that she took his phone w/ the copy of his D/L and came back to say "Sorry, cant see birthday, manager said no birthday buffet. (Come on really?) Well manager came over to rudely state that "THIS TIME WILL BE OK BUT NO NEXT TIME UNDERSTAND" We replied that was ok because there will be no next time. He would then replied back that "YOU DONT HAVE TO SAY THAT, YOU GOT IT, WE GIVE YOU FREE THIS TIME BUT NO NEXT TIME UNDERSTAND" Well we just agreed, knowing there will be NO next time... Well it didnt end with that... we had one in our party that wasnt eating (which I clearly explained well before we were seated that one will not be ordering, she was just there for my nephews birthday. Well the check came that had added her on as a buffet when it was obvious she had not one plate or bite of anything. When I brought this to the waitress attention, she went around and started counting the silverware and what was unopened, even picking up the unopened set to start her count. Needless to say I would not recommend this place PERIOD! They are smiles until they think you are lying to them. Really? Lying about a minors birthday? I will be telling EVERYONE I KNOW TO STAY AWAY.

Worst experience I have had. The man that was making the sushi was so rude, yelled at us and kept pointing his finger at us when i asked him to make a cucumber cream cheese roll with no seaweed for my 8 year old daughter. She was heart broken. They have had made it before which i was surprised by the way this guy was acting towards us. Back at our table we never saw a waitress or waiter come up and ask us for refills on our drinks. While the rest of the surrounding tables had someone ask every 10 mins. . I tried to flag someone over and 8 was ignored. A young waiter asked to clear our table after 20 mins and i asked him for drinks while he was clearing our table and never came back. Needless to say we will never be coming back and we will not be recommending this place to anyone, plus the food isnt exceptional anyway. . So your not missing anything..

The hostess with long nasty hair that sling it all over as she walks is very RUDE and as I was getting my food at the bar, she slung head and her hair hit me. SO GROSS!!! She is also not accommodating when it comes to seating large crowds and thinks that placing them at two separate tables facing away from each other is a good idea. Uh, yeah sure I would LOVE to look at the back of my familys heads while having dinner with them. To sum itbuo, her attitude just sucks. The food on this night is particularly disgusting. This is my second time here and the first was nothing great, but not so bad that I wouldnt give it a second chance. After biting into a huge piece of gristle disguised as sweet and sour chicken tonight and wonton soup that tasted more like dirty sink water smells, I refuse to come back.

Food was decent. But the wait staff is very unprofessional.. In two separate occasions the waitress literally stood over my party while signing our receipts. On the first trip, one person in the party only tips in cash, filled out their receipt, handed it to the waitress, and they were literally asked by the waitress "Is this ok?", while boldly pointing at the zeroed out tip section. Needless to say, the cash was immediately removed from the table. The second time, we were headed to the front to pay, and the waitress stopped us and all but demanded us to pay thru her, and literally stood over the entire party while as the receipts were signed, and watched what each person wrote on the receipt. Rudest Damn service ever.

Today on May 7th 2017 had an experience at Ichiban Chinese Buffet, Leesburg, Florida. So my wife had an accident and no empliyees came to her aid, till a customer came and told me my wife had fallen. A customer who happened to be a nurse, came to her aid. The only thing the GM was worried about was me paying the bill. I asked to to speak to the owner, and he complained that my wife was wearing sandals, and why had her keys fallen into their display. I said that he was rude, and He explained that there was no one to speak to. That is what happens when you hire incompetent employees!! I hope that this place gets bad reputation from more customers. Worse than Steak and Shake or even McDonalds!

This buffet has lots to choose from and I appreciated that the sushi was proper labeled. Every server here was very helpful and kind. Most of the food is kept warm, not hot. So by the time you get back to your table its almost cold. The food was decent. However the carpet in the area where I was seated, had a very strong urine smell. I would have asked to be seated elsewhere but the urine smelling carpet was everywhere. It is difficult and not to mention nauseating to eat where the smell of urine is so potent, but its even worse when individuals accept it and continue without the proper measures to cleanse it. I could not finish my food and left feeling sick and disgusted.
