We have been on a 2 month quest to find the best Hibachi from Jax to St. Augustine and we found it! A great restaurant with a beautiful garden/koi pond area (the waterfall needs some tending to) where we fed the fish before and after dinner. Service was impeccable we never wanted for anything nor had to ask. The Chef was so much fun and played some tricks on my hubby for his Birthday which he loved! The food is fresh and plentiful! The clear soup was chock full of noodles, scallion, and mushrooms and was very flavorful. The ginger salad was sooo yummy! We ordered the Dinner for 2 (more like 6!!) which included fried rice, lobster, shrimp, scallops, filet mignon, and veggies. Cooked to perfection and had so much flavor! Some hibachi we have been to you had to add quite a bit of sauce or seasoning, but not here. The brown sauce is to die for and yes the yum yum sauce was deemed too my hubby as the best he has had. I wish they would bottle both. Clean, efficient, great food, friendly service what more could you ask for!

HORRIBLE!! RIP OFF!! I wish I could give this place zero stars. I ordered from this dump today 5/27/2016 I was treating a coworker to lunch keep in mind our lunch is only 30 minutes. I called ahead AT 11ON THE DOT. I got there at 1145 to find that only one of our meals had been made and I specifically ordered two teriyaki chicken plates. The manager argued that I only ordered one when she clearly repeated 2 plates over the phone. After waiting an additional 15 minutes for the next plate, I requested to see the food to make sure it was correct. There was hardly any chicken in the to go box it looked like barely 3 ounces of chicken. Breast and old vegetables. The rice was hard and looked as if it had been microwaved. I couldnt believe it. I didnt have time to stop anywhere else and I ended up paying 25 bucks for trash. I will be posting pics of this horrible food. I will never ever recommend eating her especially on a lunch break even if yiu do call ahead. Its a rip off. And the custimer service SUCKS

Been in Mandarin and have been eating here for 22 years. This evening our party of 6 dined here and we received a bad sushi roll. We didnt make a big deal of it we just asked the waiter to take it away. Next thing we know the old lady owner is at our table saying she tasted a piece of the roll (yes she ate off our plate) and that she knows her rolls. She said she would take it off the bill but never again. My wife simply said thats fine, we will never be back. The owner then looked directly at our table and said "good!" And walked away. We dont know what is going on here but this woman just alienated 3 families from ever eating here again. This place is going down slowly. Also not to mention with drinks for all 6 of us the bill was over 200 bucks. Thats 200 a week theyll never get back again.

It was a good experience. Reading the others comments I can say I didnt have those issues. Our waitress was attentive (albeit slammed with tables that were across the restaurant from each other) , she did the best she could and it showed. The food was good, Id rate the sushi probably 6-7 out of 10. The masago was okay, so was the yellowtail hosomaki but it wasnt the freshest. My guests each had chicken hibachi and said it was good as well, I sampled and it seemed pretty decent. Ill usually rate a restaurant poorly based mostly on experience, here the food may have been a 5-7 / 10 but the service was speedy and polite and deserves a 8-9/10. Give them a shot, try for the busier times. I ate here two hours before close on a Monday night.

Their food is delicious. Their sushi is great. The service is okay, although when it gets busy they run around like chickens with their heads cut off!!! AND, they have a chef named DAVID who is sooooo rude. If you ever go to Sakuras please request to be seated at a table he is not cooking at. I have complained several times about him and nothing has been done. This last Saturday I went for dinner and I forgot to say I did not want him to cook for my table. I forgot, and lord and be hold he had him. Once again we had a horrible experience because of him. I refuse to pay over $20 for a plate of food and have a sucky experience.

went here for the first time apr. 25. Chef was funny, a good entertainer and cooked my food perfect. overall I thought the food was good and service was good. Mediocre at best, however, the appearance of the restaurant is in extreme need of renovations. very old and dirty looking. restroom very outdated, looked like fixtures from the 70s. Also plates and silverware a little dirty, for the money I spent there I would much rather go to Wasabi over at the St. Johns Town Center. Going forward Wasabi will have me and my friends business.

Its not often I get up and walk out of a restaurant, but I just did here. Completely forgot my drink order, then after reminding them, brought me a beer without a glass, after having already serving the people next to me, who showed up later, their beers *with* a glass to drink it out of. When I asked for a glass for my now warm beer, I was completely ignored. If they dont have time for me, I dont have time for them! I consider that kind of treatment insulting, and I won’t be back.

We have visited all the Japanese resturants in town and this is simply the best overall. The portions are very generous, the shrimp sause is FANTASTIC and the atmosphere is fabulous. Unlike several of the reviews below, I have never had a credit card issue with this resturant and would highly recommend it to anyone!! I will agree the facility is showing its age and needs to be renovated, but the food is outstanding and the service above average.

Sushi ingredients not very fresh. Salad limp. Tea had an odd taste to it. Wasabi ok, but not great. Buri was dried out as was Tuna. Was not Akami grade. Fish used was a belly cut I think as was fatty and oily. Kani-kamaboko used for "Crab Maki" instead of genuine Kani. I felt like I was cheated. WIfes teriyaki chicken was a fried chicken patty, fried with teriyaki sauce dribbled on it. First and last trip there.

Terrible. Unless youve never had food like this anywhere else I dont see how you could ever say this is good!! Not sure why anyone would EVER go back after trying it. Worst shrimp sauce ever. Service terrible. They clearly & blatently do not appreciate tgeir customers. Basically in amazement at some of these comments. Best ever? you must have visited another restaurant

Walked in and was taken to out seats. Before we sat down they were asking for our drinks. Waitress interrupted my party four times during our dinner. She came with the checks and stood there maybe 20 seconds before saying "ill take it now." Nina II, i was extremely dissatisfied with how you treated us. We left at 8:30, you close at 10:30, dont rush your patrons.
