On the rainiest Vero Beach night of the year, I tried Hua Xing take-out for the first time ever. Having no menu, I dropped in while making a Walmart run. Off the menu, I ordered the Pu Pu Platter ($9.90), a quart of house special fried rice ($7.10), an order of honey chicken ($9.45), an order of Kam Pao Shrimp ($10.50), and a quart of Wonton soup - free with order. Busy little place and staff speak little to no English. As Chinese is not my second language, I had difficulty in communicating with them. They advised that the order would be ready in ten minutes. A quick run to Walmart and I returned in about ten minutes. Order was ready to go as promised. Upon arrival home, I quickly determined that my order was missing the Kam Pao Shrimp, various sauces, and fortune cookies. I called Hua Xing to tell them my order was short only to be told that I should have checked it before leaving. I was also advised that if I wanted fortune cookies, I should have asked for them. Pu Pu Platter was disgusting and had none of the various sauces that typically come with the item. House special fried rice was nothing to write home about. It was heavy on the onion, and light on everything else. Only two small shrimp in the entire quart. No duck sauce came with the rice. Wonton soup was chicken broth and five noodles with scattered scallions. Had a weird taste, but maybe thats just me. Honey chicken was dry and very bready. It was chicken, but where was the honey? Kam Pao Shrimp was totally missing, but like staff said - I should have checked the bag before leaving the store. First and last visit to Hua Xing restaurant in Vero Beach, Florida. You get one-star and are lucky to get that. Yelp wont allow contributors to leave no stars. /s/ William E. Lewis Jr

We just moved to the Vero beach area and have been searching for a good chinese restaurant. We tried this place and we were extremely disapointed. The portion sizes were normal, however there crab rangoons tasted like carrots instead of crab and cream cheese. My husband ordered the sesame chicken, and instead of tasting like a zesty sesame seed, it was like eating hot buffalo chicken. The sesame chicken was covered with a hotsauce and it hardly had any sesame flavor. I had my usual, sweet and sour chicken, with shrinp fried rice. My rice had a total of three small shrimps in it, and the chicken had allot of over cooked pieces. My 2 teenage kids said the same about there sweet and sour chicken combos. If you choose to go here, may your luck be better than ours and you dont waste 40 dollars on crappy food.

Very disappointed with Hua Xing Chinese. The last two times we placed large orders and requested no mushrooms because members of our group are allergic. Both times we got mushrooms and some of us had to make sandwiches. Today I placed a third order and showed them pictures of the last order with mushrooms expecting them make it right. Instead of adjusting my bill for this latest order they offered me two sodas to make up for their error. They suggested next time I should bring it back immediately, a 30 minute round trip while the rest of the food gets cold. I am very dissatisfied with their response. It shows poor customer service and not taking responsibility for their mistake. We will find another chinese restaurant to frequent in the future.

Our first time and a terrible experience. First off the woman at the counter was very rude...very rude. I felt very rushed even though there was no one in the place other then my husband and I. I ordered and PAID for items that were not even given to me. When I called to tell them about it she told me to come back and get them, even though my dinner was already out of the bag and on the table. Poor food quality as well. Beef with garlic is supposed to be spicy and is actually sweet, and hardly any pork in the pork loin mein. There is a reason no one was in there. I will stick to Szcehuan Palace. This place sucks!!! We will never return. One star is one too many!

For all the people saying its the best Chinese in Vero, that just means its the only Chinese place in Vero Beach they have ever been to. The woman wearing pajamas taking our order was rude and very unprofessional. We ordered no vegetables in the fried rice because of certain food allergies. The floors are more dirty then most of our back yards. As said in previous posts the food was horrible. So for those reading...in my honest opinion I would never recommend this "resturant" if you can call it that to anyone. Also said in another post "Im suprised they are still open"

They are so unfriendly. The older , taller man would not let me take the menu off the counter to write my order on it. He stayed "just tell me what you want, Im not going to read it". Everyone in there does not greet any customers and they all seem miserable. By the way it says they have a 3.9 star rating but if you read them most of the 4 and 5 start ratings were from a year or more ago, maybe they changed owners... just saying!

I have been eating here since I was a teenager. These folks work very hard and I have always enjoyed the food and service. Ive never had a bad experience and the lunch specials are pretty awesome deals. Their General Tsos chicken remains my favorite of all time. I would happily run it against any other places recipe. Any time, any where.

A good solid choice for standard Chinese takeout. Good Crab Rangoon, Great General Tsos Chicken. Lunch specials are a good deal, with the huge portions you would expect from a chinese takeout place. Definitely one of the better places in Vero to get your chinese fix.

We have been eating here for years. The food is good and the prices fair. It is a takeout only place so dont expect to eat in. We like this the best in Vero for Chinese Food there are other chinese places in vero but the food is not good.
