Korean restaurants are rare in Bradenton and although I have not tried any Korean style restaurants in Tampa, this restaurant was mediocore. There is a decent selection of korean entrees and chinese entrees, however the prices are much higher than the quality and quantity of food. $$Prices for each entree range from 16.99-19.99 and BOX dinners for $24.99 which should be priced at the lower prices stated. The Gal bi and the Bul Go Gi (Korean bbq) are presented in the form of a stir fry with cabbage in a marinated sweet sauce delivered on a hot plate. The meat is not exactly choice or select cut. The entree is accompanied with typical korean side dishes but portions are meager. Kimchi is different everywhere you go, but this place it wasnt great. The service was great; we were checked on several times throughout our meal but not to the point of annoying. I have tried Korean restaurants in North America and this was not one of the better choices. Its likely I would not return to this place primarily due to pricing. The closest to sushi was a california roll and as stated in a previous review, it is not Publix standard. Rolls are 12.99. Id rather go to Thai Wasabi- the atmosphere, food, prices and service are much more inviting. Average if youre craving your korean/asian cuisine but overall below average.

used to come here 4 sushi often when under different ownership. Prices are now almost ridiculous, esp for nigiri or most rolls. The soup, the salad, everything is more $$$ here. I like their ginger drsg the best, and when their Tuna is sashimi grade, not publix grade, i like the regina roll (expensive at $11.00) If you come for the Korean food (which also went up $ post-owner) or this one sunny faced Korean waitress JC/KC? then, i can understand why u may like it here. i came back one last time to get my $$$ back from an overcharge/item not received the time b4 when i was there (they refused to credit me, saying "u come back next time, it free". i was speechless as this was surprisingly rude of them). i havent been there since (1+ yrs). if i and they, werent fellow christians, id probably give only 2 stars/below avg rating. good luck folks.

This is by far the best Sushi place in the Sarasota metro area! My wife and I have tried nearly every sushi place. Most all had good sushi and extras ranging from Thai food to steak. What makes Sam Oh Jung sushi the best by far is the "K" roll. With so many choices at every sushi place, having a roll that is so much better than any other in town is hard to believe. To be the best, I just want one great roll rather than 10 good ones and Sam Oh Jung has it. My wife and I go almost every week including today on Saturday!

"IT DOESNT GET ANY BETTER"... You can get SUSHI as good as, but not in Tampa. And when you factor in their always smiling, genuine happy to see you and serve you, hospitality of Sam, his wife, and family, AND then the perfect setting, either dim booths or monster flat screen TVs around the bar, ITS THE PERFECT PLACE... And Im not affiliated in any way LOL, just a satisfied customer for the past 7 yrs and just thought to give em a plug as I looked up their number.. enjoy

Excellent sushi, best Ive had in the US. Fairly priced for fresh delicious sushi. The sushi chef is super friendly. Sat at the sushi bar with my girlfriend and we loved it. Aside from the middle aged loser who wouldnt stop self loathing to us about how great he is. If you see him sitting at the bar do yourself a favor and grab a table instead of listening to his drunken banter.

Sushi at Sam Oh Jung is so great that I roll out of there stuffed to the gills. The K--roll is out of this world. You know how healthy food doesnt taste good. Well this cant be healthy because it taste soooo good. But fresh vegetables like avocado, cucumber and radish and fresh seafood like shrimp, eel and tuna are good for you. Ill be back there again. You can count on it!

This place is a place you must go if you love Asian cuisine. This place has the best and the most fresh ingredients for there food. Right now I am really hooked on there New lobster sushi rolls. And if you think there is a better place to have Asian cuisine than this place and you have never tried this place...try it out.

Really great place. The food is good, the service is good, and the prices are decent considering the excellent quality of the food. When I walked in, I expected it to be a bit more expensive, but when I sat down I was relieved to see it wasnt. I cant wait to bring my friends here and try more of their food.

Our regular sushi place was closed so we thought wed try this place. We should have waited till tomorrow. Nothing was bad but nothing was that good either. The fried rice we ordered for our child took longer than the sushi and also wasnt much to talk about. The restaurant was also very dark.

Only been there once and ordered the Mixed Vegetables with Fried Tofu and rice, was extremely bland, tasted as if it were drenched in soy sauce alone. The vegetables were fresh but no flavor whatsoever. Hard to convince myself to go back, especially when so many good reviews on this place.

Amazing sushi! One of the best I have ever had!! And amazing service! Entire staff pays attention to you and makes you feel welcomed, not only the waitress but everybody! Amazing experience and amazing food! I came in for lunch! Everything was served quick too.

Used to live nearby and whatever chance we had we would eat here. Was in town again recently and its even better than we remember! Both the sushi and Korean dishes are outstanding and the staff and owners are always so nice! Cant recommend Sam Oh Jung enough!

My parents have been going here for 15 years, and I have been going here for 14 it is absolutely delicious. I recommend the K-roll, scallop special , Tuna tempura roll, and the baby octopus! Great service and always fresh sushi!

If the staff was as fresh as the fish youd be sleeping with them!!! Lunch was fabulous and didnt break the bank. I dont think Ill be able to go a week without coming back.

So far, my favorite local spot can for veggie sushi. Nice service, good food, fresh ingredients. If I had the means, Id eat here nearly every day.
