I was a frequent customer for many years until recently. To my surprise, the prices were raised at an astronomical price. The menu seemed to have upgraded along with a few things around the restaurant. Anyway, the food wasnt as good as it used to be. The kimchi tasted old and my galbi was over cooked. I asked for my check to find that pre-tip had already been added. The menu stated that gratuity is added for a group of 6 or more, but there were only 2 of us. When the server came to pack our leftovers, she tucked the onion hanging from the container with her thumb. I was so disgusted with the service. I can understand paying as much as I had at a good restaurant, but not at a mom and pop shop serving home cooked meals that used to have reasonable price. Needless to say, I will never go back to Soul of Korea ever again. I rather drive 30 minutes out to another Korean restaurant. I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone thats for sure.

I bet the food is good, it smelled delicious, but we never got it. This place is an office space with a few refrigerators and a stove packed in it, run by an ahjumma and one other person. We got there at 8pm ready to order and we left hungry almost an hour later. I feel like they should have had at least 1 other person working, or at the very least someone could have come and acknowledged that we werent forgotten about. Maybe it was a bad night, but everything about this place was just so disorganized and we wont be going back. There are plenty of other great Korean restaurants in Tampa.

Tried this place for the first time today, dine in. Food was delicious. I think the price was more on the expensive side though. They only serve canned soda, which is about $2 for a 12 oz. can. They also charge 18% gratuity on parties of 6 or more ppl. We had 7 people, 2 different checks (3 on 1, 4 on the other). Gratuity was charged on both checks. So all in all, we paid 36% gratuity for a table of 7. I dont agree with that. Overall, i feel the place is definitely good for take out, but not the ideal place for me to dine in again. Therefore, i give it 3 stars.

The food here is excellent!!! I can not say good things about it. Their grilled marinated beef (better know as Beef Bulgogi) was wonderful! Ive been looking for this delightful dish for years. And now Ive finally found a place that serves it! I can not wait to go back. And the portions were plentiful. This is a small mom and pop place (may 10 to 12 tables). The decor is not that great. It reminded me of my moms kitchen when I was a kid. But I highly recommend you go to Soul of Korea for the food. I know I will.

The food is so good and the amount of the food is also alot. I personally like "Kim bab" which was 6 $ for 2 rolls.. sweet and sour beef was good. Korean pancake is a good apetizer and if you like spicy food, spicy chicken is also a good choice. I would take my friends to this place.. not to mention the service and the people are very friendly. They would always give more side dish when we would ask, and they even made some baby food with rice and egg for my little one. :)

It is a hole in the wall, small, but cute with little art works. Considering my other usual Korean places have been closed, this is a pleasant surprise replacement. The staff knows enough English to make jokes. The food is plenty and taste good. I would like a little more side dishes, but hey are free, so I will not complain. Will come again and be bringing friends too. I hope this place works out for them.

I eat there often. Food is very good! I especially like the Dol Sot (large, hot, stone bowl) Bi Bim Bop (rice with vegetables, beef, and an egg on top). Pour in the sweet hot pepper paste (Ko Chew Jong) to your liking and stir it up - because the stone bowl is very hot, itll cook the egg as you stir it. Within a few minutes the rice on the sides of the bowl starts to get crispy.

If you are into classic home-cooked Korean, this is it. They call it "Soul" of Korea for a reason, and it certainly lives up to its namesake. We no longer have to make the trek to Orlando for proper Korean, when the best is just a few minutes away here in Tampa. Even the kimchi is made in-house! Exceptionally friendly and a wonderful addition to our regular dining repetoire.

Service is pour..the Korean bbq was mostly fat in the Kalbi. My step mom is Korean so i know my Korean. *Warning* we saw the owner literally was putting the rice for customers in hot bowls and ate some the was on the side and licked her figures and kept going. If i didnt already order and have my heart set on Korean bbq i would of left but its my fav. will never go here again!

Just fantastic! Service was friendly and accommodating; we dined with children, and they never made us feel rushed. The beet hot pot was great, as was the bibimbap, and I cant wait to come back and try the kalbi and bulgogi! Great location very close to Ikea, which was our destination, so well be back next time we go there again.

I am korean and I have tried korean food in many u.s. cities and of course in korea.. this is a small hole in a wall.. dont come here for decorations or atmosphere but they have excellent food! 3 years later its still the same. Same great food and service. I think the price is very fair too.

I went a couple months ago and it was great had spicy pork dinner. Last week I had spicy chicken lunch and it was bland with a bunch of shredded cabbage it did not taste like Korean bbq, unfortunately I will not be returning due to the inconsistency.

My favorite Korean restaurant in Tampa, and less than a mile from my house! Very quaint and the staff are so nice. Try the meal for two if you are dining with someone. I always take food home. The bulgogi if SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good.

This is my favorite Korean restaurant in Tampa area. Try Soul Korea official dinner, comes with so many dishes to include protein dishes (galbi, bulgogi, fish), side dishes, glass noodles and soft tofu soup.

Great legit Korean food. Wife got bulgolgi and I got japchae. Authentic food, plenty of seasonings and flavor, meat wasnt dry, and the miso soup came in a bowl youd eat cereal in. You will leave full.
