Trying out Barmini for the first time last weekend really was something else. Just walking into the bar, the sheer atmosphere was that of a really fun laboratory. I saw a bartender making cocktails that smoked so much it looked like they had dry ice in them, and he had a whole mad scientist getup. It was a joy watching him make my cocktail to tell you the truth, just the presentation alone lead me to believe that this was a great cocktail even before I tried it. The service was also stellar. My only complaint is really about the food. The food isnt exactly the cheapest stuff around and that is a bit of bummer because I got what felt like appetizers when I felt like I had paid enough for a huge quarter pounder.

A great place for artisanal cocktails. They have an extensive cocktail list and every drink our group ordered was delicious. However I wouldnt go in with the expectations for fine dining experience as most dishes are more like upscale bar food. The food menu clearly shows its effort of bringing in interesting twists and probably resonating the experience next door at mini bar. But some soundingly interesting dishes came out rather underwhelming like the uni panini and lobster roll. Not sure if i would bother with the troublesome reservation process here on a regular basis, but Id recommend if theres a special occasion or you have a foodie guest in town and you want to show them the dc dining experience.

This is a small space adjoining minibar that holds roughly 20 people at a bar or some odd seating. They have a large list of delicious cocktails. They started us with a small "welcome" cocktail that had a cucumber flavor. The cocktail menu is extensive (roughly 100 maybe?). The ones I tried were very smooth but the pumpkin one I had barely tasted like pumpkin. The appetizer plates were delicious such as the liquid olive and grilled cheese. The service was excellent and very friendly. Overall, a solid way to experience a small bit of the more expensive sister place next door.

TIP: for reservations call the bar for last minute cancellations or the usual booking weeks in advance. Worth the wait though. We came over here for some cocktails and to try their innovative tapas. I went for a double rum combination (double something) and I must say it was quite on the top (maybe too much alcohol for me). We ordered the lobster roll (yummy) and the cheese sandwich. I did love the lab ambiance as well as the exquisite service (a bit too snooty at the beginning). This is the perfect place to come with friends, sit and enjoy the drinks.

We made a reservation for our anniversary night here on a whim and boy, were we happy we did! The staff was extremely welcoming and friendly, and while we perused the menu, enjoyed a complimentary welcome cocktail! JP was an incredibly talented bartender who really took the time to answer our questions and help us find that "perfect" cocktail based on our tastes and preferences. Price was just right for all that we got in terms of service, quality, and enjoyment overall! Will definitely be back to do one of their tasting flights soon!

Walked in on a Tuesday at about 6pm after a business meeting in town. Was asked whether I had a reservation, which I did not. The bar area was virtually empty, with only perhaps five or six well dressed revelers taking selfies. The place was brightly lit and painted white- looked like it was ready for a fifth graders birthday party minus the red balloons. Was declined service due to "no reservation", and was directed to an alternative site. Oh well. Would think you might serve the patron you have, rather than the ones you dont.

First time here. Made reservations but probably could have just walked in (Wednesday late night). We ordered the flight. It was six drinks. This is the way to go if you have the time. You are greeted by interesting concoctions that are fun to watch. For the prices was worth it, expensive but worth it. We also ordered the grill cheese. It was very good well worth it. Next time I would like to try the waffles. My only complaint is we sat on a couch that was not very comfortable.

I made my reservation in mid-December for a gift to my manz for Christmas and we went the first week of January. I dont know if I lucked out. but I think a month in advance is a fine time to schedule. Everything was phenomenal. I dont need to write much because Jose Andres reputation says it all. Id recommend trying a liquid nitrogen drink and definitely DEFINITELY order the tuna tartare if its on the menu. The girl next to us had the beet tartare which also looked incredible.

How have I lived in DC for 7.5 years and NOT known about this place?! I feel ashamed that Ive been missing out on this 5 star place. Environment: 5 stars! Service: 5 stars! Drinks: 5 stars! They have a HUGE list of drinks and they arent as expensive as you think for being a Jose Andres bar. Ask the bartender to surprise you and theyll make you one of the best drinks youll have in DC. I guarantee it!

Barmini is a very interesting place founded by Chef Jose Andres that has a unique array for specialty drinks made by skilled mixologist. The concept, atmosphere, presentation and most of all taste was well worth the visit. So far this is would rank as my favorite bar to visit. The only downside is that its so exclusive and intimate that you cant just stop by without having a reservation.

內部裝飾非常的精緻,是白色條紋和大量的植物,飲料菜單非常的經典(有含液氮的飲料)或者異想天開的雞尾酒。餐廳的小吃非常不錯,真的太棒了。

Really fun drinks with an eclectic intimate setting. Id recommend the cocktail flight in addition to ordering some drinks you find interesting as well. The major downside to the flight is that its not really catered to your needs, so you might be getting a drink or two that isnt good for you.

As other reviewers have noted, the service is somewhat slow, but the drinks definitely live up to expectations. I had the lady in the tutti fruity hat and the Penn quarter flip, which were both phenomenal. Will have to come back to try the $65 flight, which consists of 6 half-.cocktails

Excellent cocktail lab. Modern style and fabulously crafted drinks. The classics are great, but get the ones created only at Barmini. Wait staff is consistently great. Amazing wagyu philly cheese waffle and great grilled cheese. Be prepared to fall in love with this Jose Andres spot!

Amazing drinks, creativity, atmosphere, and tapas. It has been a few months since Ive visited and still talk about the experience and show photos/videos of the drink wizardry. A must for a special night out!

Delicious cocktails and small bites. Very pricey but high quality cocktails. This is a nice place to celebrate a special event. I wish they would fix the machine that makes the Veruca Salt Cocktail.

What an amazing place for drinks! Call way ahead of your occasion to make sure you can get a reservation. Its semi-intimate and biz casual. The food options are also very good and change regularly.

Went on a Saturday night during a weekend trip to DC and had a fabulous experience. The service was top-notch and the cocktails were by far the best Ive ever had. Well worth the price!
