Dosa restaurant on steroid. First, this place is not authentic as advertised. The food is not authentic at all. Only sells 3 flavors dosas and one uttapam with 3-4 filling options. Sambar is like a historic museum item which is totally show case with $4.40 additional charge (90% onions in it). $10 plain vanilla dosa (NOT Authentic) in the US WITHOUT sambar. Wait time: 25 minutes. Fully cooked? --> NO. Its a gamble. Mine was sort of burn but no cooked. Right from cooking equipments, ingredients, menu choice, price, food combinations (WITHOUT sambar) the actual chefs (not typical asians who knows the food DNA and the basics). Its a well staged food gamble that is working for the owner. The website is fancy enough to drive people to the place. Fact is, its all fake. Extreme disappointment on losing $14.40. I wish I had opted for regular cheese pizza instead.

The best Indian food Ive had in DC AND its vegetarian! The dosa was filling and so good, the price isnt too bad for how much food youre getting too. Lines can get a bit long but that goes for everything in union market. Altogether a great experience.

Fresh ingredients, and made right in front of you, price is right for the amount of food ,they should offer an option for mini dosa for half the price. Great effort, quite authentic taste.
