I recently had Tandoori food for the first time in my life. It happened to be at this place. Im glad it was as this food is simply amazing. I found myself eating the leftovers within 24 hours, every.single.time. They have this fish-bread stuff they give you when you sit down which comes with two sauces and they are pretty good. I like eating the green one because it makes me feel like Im on nickelodeon or something. Ahhh to be mentally young... So we sat there and just got water to drink. My date actually got a mango-yogurt-style drink. It wasnt what I would call something I would always order, but it was unique and tasty. Im not sure what exactly to order but I can tell you that if you order anything with the words "Tikka Masala" in it, then it will be simply amazing. The first time I went I ordered the fish tikka masala. She ordered the chicken. She cheated though as she had been here before. Either way they were both great dishes. They give you an option of mild, medium or hot. We both ordered medium. Mine was more subtle and gentle but still loaded with great flavor. Hers had some tang to it and a little kick and it was by far the better dish. Its ok though because I enjoyed some leftovers the next day. We also shared an order of the Rotti, which is just bread but goes very well with the sauce of your food. Ive since then ordered via livingsocial takeout from them multiple times. They are cheap, prompt, and very tasty. Also they give you plenty to eat and you can ask for extra rice and Ive never had them actually charge me for it. If youre skeptical, just think of these dishes as any kind of rice and gravy dish you can think up and then add a touch of love, some seasoning, spice, and happiness to it. Eat up!

Had a pretty good lunch buffet here on a Sunday. The restaurant was clean and the service was as good as youd want at an Indian buffet. They had a pretty good array of food - samosas, chana masala, saag paneer, butter chicken, naan, tandoori chicken. It was all about average -- good, not great. The chicken left a lot to be desired, both in the butter chicken and the tandoori chicken. Ive never encountered anything like it -- every bite of chicken I had came complete with a piece of bone or gristle. It just wasnt that great. And the saag paneer could have used more cheese cubes, to be sure. OK, so as Im writing this, Im definitely concluding that it was average, but hey, average Indian food can be a pretty good thing!

I went here for a Saturday lunch buffet, place wasnt crowded at all. The Tandoor chicken was bland and dry. Not sure if it was just that one day I went there but they used chicken quarters in their butter chicken instead of cubed white meat chicken, still the sauce was good. They did have the Naan in the buffet line instead of being sparsely brought to your table like most other Indian restaurants. Mango Lassi was thin in consistency but still delicious. Service was better than most Indian restaurants. The servers were attentive and courteous. If you ask they will (reluctantly) offer a 10% service member discount

Every time Ive eaten here, the food has been delicious, the service good, and the atmosphere quiet and welcoming. Last time we had lamb biryani. This visit we had the appetizer platter and tandoori chicken. The chicken was melt-in-your mouth tender and perfectly spiced. We split one order, because I like white meat, he likes dark meat. The appetizer platter let us try a big variety and decide what we liked best for future visits. There was more than enough food, and our bill came to $26.

Ive walked by this place on Barracks Row for 7 years and never once felt the urge to go in until today. My buddy and I were craving Indian and wanted to try out a place weve never been and wandered in this place. The restaurant was empty which should tell you something. In the end, the food was not horrible, just decent. I got the chicken tikka masala and naan. The naan is AMAZING (fluffy and buttery), but if you want better Indian food go to Dishes of India in Alexandria.

Have only done delivery. But its always been excellent delivery. Always around 45 minutes, but then Im a long distance from them. Arrives extremely hot, which is a rarity for delivery in DC. The Mixed Grill tandoori is fantastic. Lots of food. Lamb chops are tasty. The salads are quite large and good. Be forewarned. If you ask for spicy it will be spicy. Ive ordered probably at least 15 times from them. Every time has been very good.

I love Indian food. But after having outstanding Indian buffets in London and living in Cincinnati where, strangely enough, the Indian food is outstanding due to a few rivaling restaurants, I cannot give this restaurant a higher rating. However, it is good enough and definitely hits the spot when tandoori chicken sidled next to some garlic naan dipped in chutney is being craved. But dont expect to be overwhelmingly *wowed*!

Didnt even bother going in. I followed the gps and when I arrived the windows were covered with some sort of brown paper bags and couldnt see inside. So I called to make sure that was the correct location as I explained to the guy that answered the phone. He straight up told me "come check it and see if were open" like really is that how they treat their customers. Didnt even want to experience what is would be like inside.

I wanted to like this place because of its great location on 8th Street, so I gave the lunch buffet three tries. Each time I was disappointed. The meat was poor quality, with lots of gristle and bones, and the buffet servings would go empty and Id have to wait 10+ minutes for more to come out. The staff was polite, but its hard to justify spending $10+ on a lunch buffet when the food is both limited quality and quantity.

I came in at 4:55pm, just before they opened for dinner, but they nevertheless seated me right by the window. My server was quiet but was attentive and never hovered. I ordered the Pashwari lamb and washed it down with a Taj Mahal beer. Not only was the food mouthwatering, but the main course plus a 24-oz. beer only cost me around $20. I will definitely come back here for dinner!

Delicious Indian Food. I would recommend the chicken paneer. The place was near empty when we got there at 7pm on a Friday, but eventually groups began to trickle in. The lack of people is reflective of their busy take out business, not their quality of food. The food was bomb, and it was great to be guaranteed a seat on Friday night with no reservation. Hidden Gem for sure.

Hate to say it, but worst Indian food Ive ever had. The Saag Paneer could have been out of a can - we ended up just eating the 6 or so pieces of paneer and leaving the rest. The Chicken Tikka Masala chicken, if it really was Tandoori chicken, was sliced thin and flat and was both dry and sometimes gristly. I didnt have the bread, but it was reportedly OK.
