Worst location of BGR. They served me the wrong item and it was RAW on the inside, despite stating I wanted it medium. Founder/owner was rude, pompous, and told me I threatened him because I told him I was going to post a Yelp review and would appreciate a fast response. With so many dining options in the area, I suggest you avoid this place. For a restaurant that specializes in burgers, they should probably learn how to cook them the way their customers ask. In addition, I submitted a complaint on the web site and told them I was going to write a Yelp review. The owner, Mark Buchner, wrote me back and, to my surprise, told me I had threatened him. I hope before BGR expands their business to another location they understand that proper training and a little quality control can go a long way. Regarding threats, I make it a point to never threaten. I just move forward with my intentions. When sending your company feedback, I was hoping you would improve your practices and increase training. A simple apology would have been nice. Your arrogant response shows me how little you value customer service. I hope you do not think this review was a "threat." It is intended to provide feedback on how to improve your business in an area of DC where there are FAR better fast food restaurants within a 5-minute walk. I can see by the other reviews that I am not the only one. Are they threatening you too? The biggest threat to this location, in my opinion, are its employees and ownership. Copying message below from founder of BGR: Sorry for the confusion. normally Id be glad to send out a comp for a next mail but the undertone of a "threatening " behavior as opposed to a normal comment of "I got the wrong item" illustrates there may be other things at play here. Sorry for the confusion , glad to remake your sliders and Id advise against sending a threatening email to us or any establishment. It doesnt play well these days , especially for human people like us who invariably make a mistake and always correct it. Mark Bucher Founder Sent from my spelling challenged iPhone ----- I would appreciate a response to better understand what you consider "threatening" as you could learn from your mistakes instead of ignoring them. I have provided my phone number and would be happy to discuss this with you. Based on your email response, I dont expect a call because I can see how little you care about customers. You are correct that people do make mistakes, but as an owner, I would expect you to call the customer rather than send a quick response from your iPhone/AOL email and tell me I am threatening you. I know, I am just one customer. You dont care. Good luck.

I have had burgers from this restaurant 4 times out of a combination of necessity for quick food and a hope that they could achieve a better, more consistent product. No more. For a restaurant in this price level (approx. $14 for a burger, fries and a soda), the quality of the burger is quite poor. Out of the 4 burgers that I have had here, only one of them was delicious. The other three, including the one that I just finished eating, are constructed out of cheap, flavorless, and over cooked beef (even though they go through the pretense of asking you how you would like it cooked) and smothered in toppings and sauces which, I must assume from the quantity, are there to cover up for the abysmal base. One saving grace is the sides, which, if you order a meal, allows you to choose from regular fries, garlic fries, tater tots and salad. The garlic fries are a nice, freshly made affair and tots are a nice crispy offering. The regular fries are also above par. Its sad that this place has disappointed me so as I had such high hopes for it. Alas, I will be eating my burgers elsewhere.

I, like someone else who also reviewed, got a basically raw lamb burger (still cold inside), even having asking for it "medium" - My son, who ordered the standard burger, complained that the outside was "burned" even though to me, the inside did look like a decent "medium", so I think the problem was theyre trying to cook stuff so fast, that it cooks unevenly. In any case, Id stick with AT LEAST medium or medium well unless you like red and cold inside.. Although I couldnt finish the raw parts of mine, I tasted my wifes regular burger and it was decent, although not anything great. The fries were decent, 2 of four of us liked the onion rings. Overall, I was disapointed, because after all the good reviews, and how "Cool" the place looked, we werent "WOWED" by the food. The worst part of it was that for four of us, the cost was over $60, and thats even after saying no to the $5 milkshakes, and sharing on the sides! On the way out, we all decided that wed have been more happy and satisfied with five guys, and Id have saved more than half my money.

I walked in BGR and was surprised at how run down and dirty it looks. It needs a facelift.. And it was basically empty with was a surprise for 2:00 in the afternoon. But I stayed, I looked at the menu and ordered a Cuban Burger. I wondered how this would come out. They asked how I wanted it cooked and I said medium-well. I expected a freshly cooked hot and juicy burger with ham, pork, cheese and a pickle. What I got was a bun that was burnt, hamburger that was burnt around the edges and bone dry (tasteless) and a sandwich which had been made earlier in the day and reheated. The ham, cheese, pickle etc. did nothing to enhance the burger. Who ever was on the grill at that time seemed to be cutting corners. The only part that was halfway good were the French fries. A total disappointment. I had eaten at BGR before when they first opened and it was very good. I think this location needs to step up... way up. I wont be back, and I will let others know of my bad experience. (The employees were ok, but they hardly talked to me.)

I was visiting from out of town about a month ago and was pleasantly surprised by the service directly from the manager. He made pleasant conversation with my family as we ordered, giving us tips on what they served best, and to be honest, he was spot on in his advice. He suggested the right food and we all loved out burgers, fries, and onion rings. As we were eating and almost finished, the manager came by again and we had a really great conversation with him about the restaurant and had a quite memorable and enjoyable time. The service was wonderful, the food was great, and the atmosphere was perfect for the venue. This restaurant was definitely worth it, and a great choice for a burger in D.C.

Gamey Turkey Burger! Seeing this place was teeming with customers at lunch time (and no empty tables) I had to take my meal to go and figured I was in for a treat. Good grief! The smell hit me before I had a chance to take a bite (which I couldnt). Oh my God, they actually cooked this meat and served it; it had to have been sticky and smelly before it went on the grill. It was sooooo disappointing, especially after the subway ride prohibited me from returning it. I was able to eat the sweet potato fries (average) but honestly, Id have been so much better off paying several dollars less and getting the bountiful burger and fries from Five Guys down the street in my own neighborhood!
