I just had the worst experience ive ever had while eating at Shanghai kitchen. Im not sure who is running this establishment but having 2 people run absolutely everything from the tables to the bar is a terrible idea. Our waitress was so preoccupied answering phones and handling take out orders that we were completely ignored for virtually the entire dinner. Our mini dumplings (only 6) appetizer took 30 minutes to come out, and prior to that our waitress had forgotten what we ordered Then my chicken pad thai came out after an additional 25 minutes, while my girlfriends sesame chicken was 15 minutes after that. Even worse, we were never once asked how the food was and if we needed anything. It was to the point where our waters were never refilled, and when i looked around everyone else had empty cups. Also amusing was that they actually ran out of glasses, so I saw a few people with styrofoam cups. We had waited so long after our meal that we just went to the front, paid and left (no tip). Absolute worst experience ive ever had eating somewhere, and this review isnt even about the food at all. The management needs to SERIOUSLY rethink their customer service strategy because the few people they had there were were stretched too thin to do anything correctly. They need a dedicated bartender/someone to answer the phones, a few waitresses and then a bar back to clear the tables. Not investing in your business because youre cheap is going to kill it.

New to this side of Denver and a Chinese food maven, I am always looking for a good Chinese restaurant. I received a menu from Shanghai Kitchen in the mail, and since I live a few miles from the restaurant, decided to try it for lunch. I ordered the Moo Goo Gai Pan with fried rice and it came with an egg roll. I found the food saltier than most. The egg roll was all mushy inside with not a crunchy vegetable in sight - the only crunch was in the wrapper. The fried rice was nothing more than very small rice kernels with some kind of what seemed like a packaged dry spice powder added. There were a few small remnants of scrambled egg, but it was unimpressive. The Moo Goo was overly salty and would have been pretty good if not for all that unnecessary sodium. My favorite Chinese Restaurant has always been one located in Boulder and I was hoping to find another good one closer to my new residence. Unfortunately, I guess if I want really good Chinese, I will have to make the trek to Boulder (although there is a not-too-bad one in Lone Tree next to Jersey Mikes). In conclusion, I would not return to this place.

Prepare your taste buds! This isnt the place to go to if you want sweet and sour chicken. I over did myself with pork wonton soup that was really good. I would love to see this in a smaller size as this is a full meal itself. Then I had the braised pork belly with rice that was the best pork I have had in some time. The flavor was sweet and smokey, extremely tender with just the right amount of fat. My only complaint is the size of the pork chunks as you really have to be a chop stick professional to halve the pieces with your teeth. I would love to give the stars if it werent for that one detail. I will DEFINITELY be coming back many more times. As for customer service...the main waitress speaks 4 languages. She will make you feel at home no matter where you are from.

Been here a few times, it is a solid choice for Chinese. What sets it apart is that it heavily tilted towards authentic Chinese cuisine, which I like but you may have questions about the menu. Thankfully the waitstaff is really good and will offer advice. This used to be a bit of a hole in the wall strip mall restaurant, butt after an expansion and renovation there is both plenty of room and it is now nicely appointed. Shanghai Kitchen is a solid choice for lunch and a bit of a hidden gem for dinner. I recommend the later as the dinner crowd here is lighter and you can always get a table with good food served.

Pleasant little place with attentive service, but only to a point. When the "Volcano Shrimp" came out as a sweet and sour dish instead of a spicy one, we were simply told to order a different dish next time. There will be no next time. (Our tough luck that the kitchen cant get the job done right.) While this is a nice little strip mall spot, the food is heavily sauced and prices higher than average. If your taste in Chinese is to avoid authentic flavors or preparation, with food adapted to the American palate by pouring on bottled sauces, then you might like this place more than our family did. Not recommended.

P F Changs makes an excellent hot and sour soup, but it does not compare to the hot and sour soup at Shanghai Kitchen. The hot and sour soup at this restaurant is the best I have ever tasted, and I have tasted many hot and sour soups in Denver, Chicago, New York, and south Florida. This restaurant has doubled its size, and it is a beautiful place to dine. The atmosphere is quite serene, and there are beautiful photos of Shanghai, China. When you are there, you have the feeling to quietly relax and enjoy the ambiance, and savor a delicious Chinese meal and take your time doing it.

The hot and sour soup was way too sweet. The Vietnamese egg rolls had almost no pork in them. In addition the menu states that there are 8 to an order and they only served 5. We ordered spicy triple delight with a simple request of no bamboo shoots and it came with them. They apparently did not remake the dish since when it came back it still had bamboo shoots albeit only one. The staff was defensive and did nothing for us. In short...fair food and surly staff. I will not return.

We recently moved to Greenwood Village and decided to get delivery from here. The delivery was VERY fast, and the driver was friendly. The order was Sesame Chicken and Pad Thai, both of which we have had from many other restaurants. The sesame chicken was mostly dark meat and was very gristly. The Pad Thai did not taste like any we have gotten before and was also disappointing. As a comparison, the General Tsos chicken at the deli at walmart is better than what we got here.

Do whatever it takes not to go here! I had stopped in to try and ordered the Sesame Chicken (which is normally a safe bet for any new place), it was soggy, cold and seemed like it had been reheated in the microwave from someone elses plate. When I ordered the lady also was insistent I got an appetizer. I asked a coworker if she had eaten here and she told me of her experiences which were similar to mine, poor customer service & disgusting food, just overall malarkey.

First, horribly tasteless food! Second, beware of hidden charges! I ordered a broccoli beef for $12.99 (price on the meu). On the check they charged me $15.99! I asked them why, and they said we gave you extra large. I was not happy, because I never asked for extra large and the size of "extra large" was smaller than the most restaurants. The waitress replied with smile " I thought you needed one". This was a total surprise and the first time happened in my life.
