I am writing this review to anyone who is curious about how this business actually operates. This a a fairly large location with only two employees who actually interact with customers. The wait is unusually long (20-30 minutes for small personal order), order times have been slow at every visit. This is typical for all hours of operation. I know this because Ive visited at several different times throughout the week. My last visit I was the 4th customer in line at 7pm (a prime time dinner hour), and I waited in line for 20 minutes just to find out that theyre sold out of their smoked turkey. I found it interesting that theyre not prepared to handle orders from their very limited menu. A well managed operation would have small simple problems such as maintaining supply to meet the demand solved swiftly.

Just brought my family for the first time. Amazing place!! Im not sure the meat artists name but he was very knowledgable about the menu items as was Patrick. The food was absolutely amazing! Not too much smoke, fall off the bone ribs, excellent fries and sauces! Best part was the service- my girl dropped her bread on the floor right away and my 5 year old put hot BBQ sauce on his fries by accident. I went to reorder , expecting to pay but they refused to charge me. Very nice ! And the portions were out of control for the price. Thank you Bird Dog BBQ for everything ! We shall return... And bring friends !

Bird dog is one of our favorite places to go and the staff is always friendly. Only gripe I have is they were careless with my order yesterday. I asked for brisket and pork in a family pack to go, got home and all I had was two servings of pork. To top it off they didnt give me any BBQ sauce. $40 something is a lot to spend to not get what you want. Without the sauce it kind of ruins the bird dog experience. Id of gone back, but its a 30 minute round trip in the car. Would give 5 stars if I wasnt so disappointed one of our favorite meals was a let down.

Have only had a chance to eat here once but it was very good. Had the Smokehouse sandwich, beans and fried okra. The sandwich was great, the beans very good and the okra was ok. They slice their meat to order so it tastes very fresh. All 3 of their bbq sauces are awesome. The staff during my visit was awesome. Very friendly and enthusiastic. Reserving one star from this review due to my meal being a little on the expensive side; around $15 with tip. Next time Ill try one of their daily lunch specials to save a some coin. Highly recommend!

Great place to get good bar b q. Try to starve yourself a bit; the servings are really healthy. It is busy during lunch time due to the fact that there is an army base and a airforce base near by. They have the usual styles and cuts of meat; beef, pork, and chicken. There specials are awesome during lunch, very price competitive. I like to take my order to go so I can hit up a nice coors light or two. thanks

This is my familys go to restaurant in Fountain. We like to get the $40 family pack. There is plenty of meat left over to eat later which makes it a good deal. Plus they have military and cash discounts. We love their turkey and chicken, baked beans, potato salad, and okra. My family was in town recently and everyone loved Bird Dog. My sister said it was the best food shes ever eaten in her life lol

I used to love this place, but then some things began changing. Prices got higher and you can tell they are starting to cut corners to save money. I want to love this place, but if I cant tell the difference between your sweet and unsweetened teas their is an issue. The one saving grace is that the employees are nice and friendly. Overall, they just need to go back to the way they were before.

One of my favorite place to eat. They are super quick with getting the food ready. Always very friendly and talkative. They offer military, cash and senior citizens discounts. Also you can buy their BBQ sauces, which I am addicted to. I will miss this chain when we move. Hopefully you will be able to buy their sauce online before that time comes.

Me and my family ate from this place 2 nights ago and yesterday We were vomiting and had the runs all day. Also had severe stomach cramps. I couldnt even breastfeed my 4 month old baby. This place needs to either cook there meat better or change their grease out more often. Never eating here again. Not worth getting food poisoned again.

Easily one of the top BBQ places in Colorado Springs. Some people may find this place a bit on the pricery side of eating out as I normally spend $10-$11 a plate with two meats, a side, and a drink, but Ive never had an unpleasant or disappointing experience here and frequent the establishment on a bi-weekly, if not weekly basis!

Great BBQ with plenty of smoked flavor in their meats. Sides are nothing outstanding, coleslaw is probably the best side option. Prices are average and usually run about $10-13 for lunch options including a drink. Would be the equivalent to Dickeys BBQ except the meats here have a better flavor.

I purchased 1lb of brisket last night, i have to say that is was not the best the brisket itwas very dry and the extra hot bbq sauce was pepper spicy, blah to say the least. Really a bummer I was looking forward to it at 18.00 a pound. it was my first time and my last.

The food was great, but the service was terrible. The employees were rude and unhelpful. Dont ever try to contact anyone by phone, they do not answer....literally ever. This was the Mesa ridge location. Ill be using the Colorado Springs locations from now on.

I eat here all the time untill now. I went in today for lunch like normal and when it came to pay they would not give my my military discount. Never had any trouble before now. So very very displeased with this place.

Excellent portions and everything has that amazing smoky flavor you want from bbq. Their bbq sauces are great and theres a nice selection of southern style sides. Definitely worth your time.

This BBQ place has excellent brisket, and the sides are consistently a good. They have a variety of meats to choose from, but I rarely venture away from a good brisket.
