I first of all did not care for our Male Server. I am very friendly and Bubbly. I had a Date. We were treated as tho we were a Hinderence instead of a New Customer Couple. It felt like a. Dive Bar. Atmosphere. It dint feel like a BBQ joint. Not even close. He was Short Cold Rude I was going to ask for a Different Server when he came by even RUDER... this time!!! If youre not a Ppl Customer Serving type Personality... Step a-waaaay...from the Restaraunt Business... He seemed ANNOYED to be Waiting on others around us too, But was Stiff Cold Short and Rude with us. I only tipped him r bux. He is BLESSED to have gotten THAT! Then... The food was dry.as in over cooked...dried out. I nearly choked. No ammounts of extra bbq sauce can help severely over bbqd food. Close to jerky...my whole rack of dry shredded ribs was such a waste of money and my time. Dissappointing. Sign says,..." Best BbQ in Colorado" What a joke. We went at Open...not later when things can be dried out. Sides...bbq beans were UNDERCOOKED...NOT TENDER EVEN SLIGHTLY. I SPIT MINE INTO NAPKIN. HE...HAD BRISKET... CHWY DRY LIKE WEEK OLD ROAST UNCOVERED IN FRIGE. I WAS APPAWLED. We were Served WITHOUT...SILVERWARE. MY DATE GOT UP AND SNATCHED SOME OUT OF A BUCKET ON ANOTHER TABLE.AFTER MAYBE 8 TO 10 MINUTES...MR COCKY AROGANCE WALKING EGO...COMES OVER AND PUTS SAME BUCKET OF SILVERWARE...ON OUR TABLE. AT END...ASKING FOR TAKEOUT CONTAINERS JUST TO BE POLITE... HE GIVES BILL...NO THANK YOU NO HAVE A GREAT EVENING... NOTHING. AROGANT SILENT COLDNESS WORST IVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE. NO SODA REFILLS NO CHECK AFTER 5 MINUTES HOWS EVERYTHING... UNBELIEVABLY THE WORST BBQ WORST MALE WAITER WORST SERVICE IVE EVER HAD IN ANY STATE. I TRAVEL AS WELL. WORST EXPERIENCE IN A LONG TIME. ENTIRE MEAL SHOULDVE BEEN COMPED TO FREE AND A COUPON OR CARD OFFERING US A COMPLIMENTARY MEAL ON ANOTHER DAY. I COULDNT EVEN BRING MY OUTGOING SELF TO COMPLAIN. I COULDNT WAIT,... TO GET OUT OF THERE. GAVE BOTH ENTREES TO A HOMELESS GUY AND WENT TO RIB CITY ... REAL YUMMY BQ, FRIENDLY KIND, GREAT SERVICE... TENDER MEAT PROTEIN... AND AN ENJOYABLE DINING EXPERIENCE. YUM. I LL JUST BET THERE ARE LOCAL PARKER COLORADO FOLKS WHOM MAY DISPUTE MY RATEING AND COMMENT. I DO NOT CARE. POSSIBLY THEYVE NOT HAD GREAT TENDER TASTY BBQ MUCH,...OR AT ALL... KEEP IT PARKER, COLORADO

Well it all depends on your taste. Im from Texas and we dont put molasses, brown sugar or honey in our BBQ sauce. Blech! We like hot, spicy, tangy sauce and that is NOT what this place serves. They specialize in tiny pork ribs. I ordered a beef brisket sandwich that only comes one way, shredded (no sliced). Luckily, they only put about 1t. of that sickening sweet sauce on it. The beef alone was tasteless and had no hickory smoke flavor whatsoever. For all I know, it could have been boiled. I put Cholula hot sauce on it to give it some kind of flavor. My husband had ribs and catfish. If you are a fan of catfish (I am not), its good. They gave him pork n beans that were also syrupy sweet. He had a baked potato that came with nothing to go on it. We had to ask for toppings and all they had was sour cream and butter (no cheese, no bacon) in those little individual pre-packaged containers with about a teaspoon in each one. If you are from Colorado or Missouri or you just like BBQ sauce that taste like molasses, you will like it. If you are from Texas, go to Dickies. Its THE only place to eat BBQ in my opinion, but then again its a Texas-based restaurant, so they make sauce the way we like it. They also serve awesome home-made sides and fresh cobbler every day and you get soft-serve ice cream with every meal which goes great on warm cobbler if you choose. MUCH better choice if you ask me all the way around.

The menu has always been way too complicated. The port ribs are ok, but in general the BBQ experience here to me is very one dimensional. It all relys too much on the bbq sauce. Good bbq, in my opinion, tastes good without much sauce needed. The flavor of the smoke, and/or a char, and how its cooked is the start, and this doesnt have good flavor. Just went tonight and service was really bad (sat us in Bar area without asking), the server had a 20 minute conversation with booth next to us talking about vacations. Two other servers helped us clearing plates, providing the check. We waited 5 minutes for water refill, and about 10 to get our to go boxes and check after we were done and that required eyeing the server interrupting the conversation. The pulled pork I had was smothered in so much sauce thats all I could taste, the fries were warm and not fresh, limp. Beens had little flavor. Ceasar salad had several pieces of half dead romaine. I put them on a paper towel to point out if asked, but wasnt. When they first opened, I think they were great and we would get for our company functions. They have steadily declined to where Im not very interested in going again (even with a coupon). Just overall came across as no one cared about our experience. Too many options exist now in Parker for that attitude.

Great atmosphere, great prices, so-so service, so-so food. This was my first time to Hickory House. I came with my family of 5 and met some friends with their kids. Overall, there were 8 of us, 5 which were under 8. They put us out on the patio around a big picnic-style table. It worked great for our group. The waitress was very nice and friendly to us. Unfortunately, I think she had more tables than she could handle because on numerous occasions, I had to ask for our drinks to be refilled, condements, etc. I dont blame her, I just think she had too much on her plate. As for the food, the portion sizes were excellent. Plenty of food. I had a pulled-pork plate with a size of sausage. The meat was tender, but unfortunately, not very flavorful. The sausage was of nice size, but dry and overcooked. My wife had a steak but it looks to me that they forgot to turn it and there was a significant portion of it that was burned. Our kids had their chicken fingers which was probably the highlight of the food. I would rate it a 3/5 on the food alone as I think there is some room for improvement. Overall, if you are looking for a BBQ restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere that can handle large groups, Hickory House is the place. I just hope they address the staffing/food issues by then.

After hearing about this place for months, we decided to try it out. I typically dont take time to write negative reviews, but Ive ever been so disappointed in a restaurant as I was in this one. Our server was excellent but unfortunately, thats where the positivity ends. With a name like HICKORY House, I expected better. Id expect my meat to have a smoked hickory flavor. The brisket was bland and watery as if it had been boiled. And the ribs were bland as well. The ribs at Chilis, TGI Fridays and Famous Daves are all WAY better. The cole slaw was runny and soft; the baked beans were no better; baked potato was ok. I could not finish the food. As I write this review, my stomach is still in an uproar over what I did eat. I dont know if they were having a bad night, but nothing, other than our server, was any good.
