Im a very patient person. I work with children during my night job as a tutor and as the bible study group teacher for my youth. The place is crowded and cramped. Not enough space to jam a surplus of customer into. The atmosphere is strange. The tables are worn off a bit, heart shaped chairs; it kind of looks like the kitchen from Jurassic park. There is classical/baroque music playing in the background with so much chaos in the front with registers. The brick walls are warm and have a vintage feel. I could not stand the customer service/staff member here with short hair, female, middle aged in cakey makeup. She is by far one of the trashiest person Ive ever met in a service depend business. I came here to pick up a cake stating name and cake type and size and she blew me off telling me she has no clue what I was talking about. Anyhow, she comes to tell me the cake wouldnt be ready until 12; I wait as the current time is 11:30 and referred to me as "Kid." Im an adult and this trashy woman just got her business a 1 star review. Youre welcome. The cake was about 40 dollars and was "SpringFling." White cream frosting and fruits adorning the top of the cake. Just The same as wholefoods. Its not special. Its all marketing. The cake was alright. Not the best; I would recommend a bakery called "Indulge" The cakes there, at indulge, are truly something special.

BUYER BEWARE!!! A huge fan of The Market for many years. Purchased many many cakes for various celebrations throughout the years and will NEVER again. I ordered a Lime Pie from H, who originally wanted to charged me $65! I argued and said it wasnt that expensive previously and corrected himself/price and charged me $35 (actually suppose to be $25 after I checked previous receipts and prices are not listed on order form btw). When I picked up the pie the following weekend, it wasnt what I ordered and was informed by an employee of The Market that H has been known to charge patrons more money that what goods are worth and then writes in a random order to cover what he takes off the top!!!!! This is from the mouth of a current employee of The Market!!! I asked why he was still employed after it was known he steals from paying customers and didnt receive a satisfactory response-. As wonderful as The Market is, I will never again be able to shop there without feeling cheated. Youve lost a good customer!

We were having a Christmas party and wanted some sweets to share with our friends. I have been a patron of the Market since the 90s and been happy with what they sold until now. We ordered 24 cookies from them thinking that would be a wonderful item to serve. We picked them up without trying one. When we got home we opened the box and tried one. All the so called cookies were dry and hard like bricks. Not being pleased we called the Market and asked if we could bring them back. They told us flat NO! They rudely continued to inform us that they had been making those cookies like that for 20 years. I remember the large part of the cookie. I just dont remember the dry hard part. I couldnt serve these at the party so I decided to drop them off at the homeless shelter. I dont know if they served them or used them as a foundation for a new wing. None the less I will no longer cross the door opening to the market again. Merry Christmas.....

I am a regular customer at this place. I love their spring fling cake so I usually buy it at least once a week but when I went over this day as usual, I ordered two slices of spring fling cake and they completely ripped me off. A slice of spring fling cake is usually 7.95 if Im correct, it is quite pricey and you would expect a good size slice which they usually do give a big slice that fills up to the top of the container. But this time, the guy at the counter asked if it was alright if he cut the last piece he had at the front in half so he doesnt have to get a new whole cake from the back, so I told him "no, because I would like a bigger slice than that". He ended up going to the back and came back with a new cake, he then cut a slice from the new cake and for the second slice, he cuts half of the old one and gave me that. The second slice was extremely small and barely filled up half of the container.

Never again! Being a former New Yorker, I am still used to under staffed, crap attitude service. This aspect of me is not changing, I wasnt born of wealth, power and prestige, never had those trappings. Im an average Joe, just give me what I ask for, forget the frills and shininess. But dont give me a full rubber-band in the middle of my chicken salad and tomatoes sandwich. This is what I pulled from my mouth after having the first quarter of my sandwich, a thin 1-1/2" dia blue rubber-band. I WAS DISGUSTED! I ordered this as a take-out on Sat July 11,2015 at noon. After unwrapping this $8 slop of a thrown together sandwich, it should have come with a fork, I knew I was in for it. What the hell did I do to deserve this? I even tipped. Never again will I be going to this deli. To the owner/owners of The Market, my next order of business, complaining to the Denver Dept. of Environmental Health.

I had a club sandwich and seafood chowder, both were delicious. The order counter is a little odd just a sort of open space into the kitchen where rotating cooks take orders and I assume proceed to prepare them, you then wait in another line to pay and pickup your food. I was asked for a number, but neither me nor the person in front of me were given numbers. But after telling the friendly girl at the register what I ordered she found it quickly. Depending on your point of view the slightly eclectic setup is either charming and Im sure for locals gives them a feeling of being in "the know" - they can easily spot us tourist clumsily finding where to order - for some it may be off putting. Fumble your way through with a smile and enjoy your delicious sandwich, soup and pastry while laughing at the next new guy trying to figure it out.

My classmate and I had been going to The Market for months about 2 times a week to study and each have our nightly teas. One day during a lunch rush, the owner approached my classmate and proceeded to completely reem her on how all we did was come and use free internet and take up ONE table. He also said that we were worthless customers and "I never even care if you ever come back". He told her to shut up when she tried to explain that he may have mistakes us for someone else. He walked away with saying, " Just get out" and this all was yelled in front of a huge line of people. We always bought at least 2 food/drink items when we studied there, ALWAYS. We used to love going there. Now I cant even walk buy that place without cringing. Great ambiance, TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT.
