First, the cupcakes at Happy Bakeshop are FANTASTIC! Absolutely loved them and the guests at our wedding loved them as well, we got so many compliments. However, we did have a few hiccups along the way that prevent me from being able to give them the 5 star review the cupcakes alone absolutely deserve. We booked them for our wedding date and sent in a check for the deposit. I saw the check cleared from my bank and thought nothing of it. But a few months later when I called to confirm the flavors we wanted, we were told a payment was never made. Thankfully, I was able to send them confirmation from my bank that they deposited the check and we were set to go. But then I got a call a few days before my wedding claiming the final payment was never made. Due to the issue with the check for the first payment, we called to make the final payment. I had to insist they look again because I knew we had paid it and they did find it. Finally, I *know* they told me that they would deliver AND set up the cupcakes at our venue. We even paid an extra fee for this. When I got to the venue on our wedding day, I was told by the coordinator that the cupcakes were dropped off but they refused to set them up. Thankfully, our coordinator was willing to set up the cupcakes even though they typically dont so it ended up not being a huge deal. Ultimately, everything turned out fine and the cupcakes are delicious but it did add extra stress to my wedding planning while working with Happy Bakeshop.

Was craving for a cupcake and drove all the way to a boutique cupcake store. Gigis is a tad too sweet for me with its 3 stacked frosting so decided to try Happy Cakes again. The first time I got there was for the macarons. It is very disappointing, they were hard, uneven and the buttercream filling were so sweet. not worth the price paid for. I suggest going to Glazed for macarons, they are not perfect also but at least the taste is better and the slight crunch with spongey inside. Going back to happy cakes, I bought the Chocolate cupcake with vanilla frosting, The Red velvet and the seasonal vegan Pumpkin cupcake. All of them had very icing, not to sweet, not weird and glunky. I actually love the taste of it, strong and fresh. However, the cakes were disappointing. The chocolate cupcake was bland with a hint of chocolateness to it. Nothing special. The red velvet taste exactly like the chocolate one except its just red. Also, bland. The vegan pumpkin cupcake was the most depressing one of all. Its super bland and with its slightly gummy texture, it is just very sad. Service is not impressive either. Came into the store and nobody attended to me even the loud bells jingled loudly. Standing there for awhile. Then out came somebody. No smile, no nothing. Very sad place for a bakery that is suppose to be Happy.

I ordered a 4 inch chocolate cake with caramel ganache inside and cream cheese frosting on the outside. The cake is very very moist and somewhat dense but not too dense. The caramel ganache inside was so delicious and the cream cheese frosting was good as well. All in all, it wasnt too sweet, just perfect. The only problem I have and did not rate it 5 stars is because I ordered a chocolate cake and it did not taste anything like chocolate. They put too much coffee that it definitely over powered the chocolate. Everyone at the party had a slice and not one person said it tastes like chocolate and thought it was a coffee cake. I hate coffee cake..so I was really disappointed it tasted like coffee cake. Next time I order a cake, I will ask them to not to put it in there or at least put a teaspoon instead.

We ordered mini-cupcakes in 4 delicious flavors for our recent wedding. I was impressed right away by the stores friendly atmosphere and willingness to give some samples for those interested in wedding catering. Great cupcakes!! Made up our minds right away to go with Happy Bakeshop. We also got a pretty wire stand from Happy Bakeshop that was very reasonably priced for rental--overall Im very happy with the quality of service and options. They included a pretty notecard with description of flavors, too. The mini-cupcakes were absolutely delicious and our guests LOVED them. We had only a few left (about a dozen) and they all got eaten the next day by our families....still delicious- and not one left. My favorite flavor was the Black and White.

5 stars for the scrumptious cupcakes- cherry cola and bananas foster, oh my! -2 stars for the service. We were "greeted" with awkward silence even after asking the woman at the counter how she was. She seemed extremely inconvenienced by our presence in general and wasnt too pleased to have to answer our questions or (god forbid!) fill a box of cupcakes for us. She definitely took the happy out of the Happy Bakeshop. We managed to get a pleasent farewell out of her after a generous tip (she couldve gotten a lot more though). We decided in the car on the way home that we wouldnt come back if they werent the best cupcakes ever. They were darn tasty, but I dont know if theyre sweet enough to makeup for the sour attitude.

Im puzzled by some of these other reviews, because I recently had Happy Cakes cupcakes cater my May wedding and they were WONDERFUL! Coming from the Chicago area, I have had plenty of the overpriced "big city" cupcakes and none of them have compared to Happy Cakes. The Red Velvet is my favorite and they do it just right! Laura, one of the owners, is great to work with, and I highly recommend Happy Cakes to be a different kind of dessert at your next big event! Your guests will appreciate you thinking outside of the box and for giving them a tasty dessert worth going up for seconds, thirds, and more!

Im thirteen years old and I recently moved here from LA, with all the rave this place has recieved I made my sister drive me there. The vanilla cupcake bread was absolutely tasteless and the frosting was not anything special. It tasted like anything a 4 year-old would make at home and the service was terrible. I was in line with my sister and the cashier totally ignored us and acted as if we werent there. NEVER coming here again! There is nothing special or professional about them. If I were to describe these in one word it would be primitive.

I LOVE the cupcakes at Happy Cakes! I tried them when I purchased a Groupon, and even though this bakery is a little bit of a drive for me, it was 100% worth it. I dried a variety of cupcakes (6 flavors) and each one was extremely moist, and flavorful and unique. I am not a big frosting person, but the frostings were delicious. Some places put the same icing on every cupcake, and flavor it with artificial tasting extract, but not this place. Dont miss the peppermint pattie cupcake or the red velvet with cinnamon cream cheese frosting. Yum!

our wedding was this past weekend and we got our cupcakes from Happy Cakes. Some of our party had to have gluten free so we ordered the chocolate on chocolate and everyone LOVED them. the red velvet was a hit and so were the chocolate & vanilla marbled cupcakes. My husband and I got a jumbo snickerdoodle cake and it was TO DIE FOR! We will absolutely order from Happy Cakes again. THANK YOU for helping make our wedding day extra special!
