Our experience was a bad one from the start at Syrup, mainly ruined by the hostesses. To start off, I thought they were very inappropriately dressed for not only Cherry Creek but just a professional environment in general. They asked us if we had reservations and when we replied no, their attitude was very rude. Albeit, it was Saturday morning and that is something we would do different in the future (assuming we ever go back). But they took our name and said it would only be about 20 minutes, which was fine for us, we werent in a hurry. We waited on the sidewalk directly in front of the door for our name to be called. However, they never called our name. They called a similar sounding name which also started with a "B" but was not my name. After 45 min of waiting we finally went in to check on our status for a table to which they rudely said they called our name already and we must have not been out there. When I explained that she was clearly wrong because we were out there the whole time, we never left, which must have been evident to her because we sat directly in front of the door, the rudeness continued. We were seated shortly after that, but we never received so much as an apology! This basically tainted the whole experience. Our waitress was fine, but the food took 45 min to get to our table. And then we also had trouble getting our check. It was also rather stuffy in the restaurant, adding to the whole thing. Overall, I gave it 2 stars because the food was very good but the service was not.

TL DR: was great everything , now has bad service and hygiene Let me preface this with, this used to be my favorite breakfast resturant and the food is quite tasty. I went in for breakfast with my girlfriend. We are seated right away and Waitress walks up and says "what can I get you" we start to order egg whites and she stops us "let me check if we have egg whites" we snickered at the prospect of a dedicated breakfast restaurant that boast about its eggs benedict being "out" of egg whites but sure enough she came back to inform us that they are out. Confused we asked you have eggs? right? Apparently they will make eggs poached, fried scrambled, over easy, sunny side up, or blanched, but egg whites are to much work when they are "busy", should state the latest this is 10 am on a Monday morning and the restaurant is not even half full. Ultimately this would not be a big deal however it is the culmination of a steady decline of quality of service and hygiene. Other times I have been in and watched the owner scoop ice with his bare hand. It used to be a great place to go, as I said it was my favorite, but at this point Its not worth going back.

This review is for the downtown location at 999 18th Street, Suite 105 The service is the worst in town. The food is so-so. Ive been there three times, and every single time the waitresses and waiters are unfriendly and inefficient. We waited over 30 minutes to even get our order taken. Coffee and waters werent refilled unless we waived down the employees to do so. Then after having a person join our group late, he put his food order in after us, they brought his food out well before the rest of the table. Also, numerous tables sat down after us and received their food before us. Then we overheard the manager apologizing to the table next to us about the long wait and the slow service and he wanted to offer them 60% off their bill. (take in mind, this table sat down AFTER us and received their food BEFORE us). When we received our bill, nothing was compensated for and no apologies were made; forcing us to speak up and complain which is more than frustrating. Wont be headed back here anytime soon, or ever. You shouldnt either.

NOT GLUTEN FREE!!! They have a rather large gluten free menu for breakfast, but upon asking the server and manager about their gluten free options we found out they are not truly gluten free (my wife has Celiac, not just a preference). They do NOT have a separate toaster for GF bread/english muffins/etc. They do NOT cook the pancakes on a separate griddle, nor was the manager willing to ensure wiping down a section of it in order to prevent cross contamination. The only thing they could guarantee GF was eggs and bacon cooked in a separate pan (why they couldnt cook a pancake in a separate pan is beyond me). Also, the manager simply offered his business card for us to call ahead and see if they werent busy next time we wanted to come in; he was willing to wipe the griddle down only when it wasnt busy. So I guess if you have Celiac and you want truly GF items, you have to call ahead and go when no one else is there.

We stopped here for brunch on a weekend trip to Denver and left feeling extremely satisfied. What lured us in were their breakfast gluten free options and homemade syrup. After not having eaten pancakes for what has been many months now, I was very eager to get my carb fix in! The place was a bit hard to find on the weekend - it is hidden inside an office building and there are no glaring signs outside, but once we got in we saw a bit of a crowd, and the restaurant was full. The wait was about fifteen minutes. We had 3 different syrups (all delicious and homemade), the pancakes were incredible (nothing about them screamed gluten-free), and my eggs benedict (also on a gluten-free muffin although on regular muffin is also available) was delicious. So glad to have stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant, and highly recommend it!

We decided to give this place a 2nd go around as our 1st experience wasnt a good one. When we arrived and the restaurant was relatively empty. We had to wait a good 10 mins for the host to come to the front and ask us to put our name on the list, "name on a list there are at least 10 empty tables in the restaurant". Then the host was so infatuated with the 2 younger ladies that were waiting for some friends that they he forgot about us and kept us waiting an additional 10-15mins , and the said thing is that we found out was one of the OWNERS!! Then after we were sat our waitress was a real ball of sunshine to cap off our already great experience. The food is ok but on 2 separate visits we have received horrible service and will not recommend nor go back there ever again.

Ambiance is nice, brightly lit and seating is not too tight. Wait staff is very inattentive - from attending to people waiting to be seated to taking orders and following up. This is not due to inadequate staff, it just appears there is no organization to who is responsible for specific areas and thus service levels vary wildly depending on whether your lucky enough to have someones attention. Simple order was not written down and then an incorrect item was delivered. Item was eventually replaced, but when bill was received an additional charge for the replacement item was on the bill. Overall an unsatisfying experience - food was slightly pricey but expected given the area. Service levels do not reflect area or tone the restaurant appears to be trying to set.
