I seriously chose to eat here based on the 4 and 5 star reviews on Google, and they were wrong. Perhaps, breakfast egg dishes are good, but my familys food for less than mediocre. We ordered two Mickey Mouse pancakes for toddlers, a blueberry banana pancake for my oldest, my wife had a Philly cheesesteak with a salad and I had a beef burrito with green chile salsa. The pancakes were of poor quality. I use a Betty Crocker recipe at home that results in far better pancakes and I live locally and deal with high altitude baking issues. The Philly cheesesteak was skimpy on the toppings and worse of all the meat was chewy. Chain sand which shops turn out superior Philly cheesesteaks. At least make up for the chewy neat with an abundance of grilled onions, peppers and mushroom. There was maybe a tablespoon of grilled onion and a sprinkling of cheese. My beef burrito was generic and had no real flair. The ground beef was ok, but the taste of the packaged taco seasoning was overwhelming. Also, in an area with amazing green chile salsa, this was topped with something less than what I could buy in a jar at Safeway. Our waitress surprisingly never asked how our food was, but looking back, I can understand why. The BEST part of eating here was the nice dude that was their host. He was cool and friendly. Too bad the food didnt hold up. I had HIGH expectations, which were immediately dashed. The price is high for the low quality of food.

Average typical diner food. Not terrible but nothing about it "stands out" we went in the morning before the zoo and this place was beyond out of our way and breakfast at 1030 and they were already out of cinnamon rolls.... INCREDIBLY DISAPPOINTED. If one of your big selling points is the cinnamon roll youd think theyd make enough to get through more then 3 hrs of the day. With five hours left in the business day. We waited over a half hour for a table just to be told they ran out. We ordered breakfast. My pancake was obviously forgotten about on the burner because it was burnt and tasted like instant pancake mix and my husbands steak came out ten minutes after the rest of his meal. Just an awful experience. No interest in ever going back. Way over priced for diner food and the experience definitely did not make up for it. Ignored my our waitress because she had a "big table outside" sorry not a valid excuse for my empty water that you passed four times until my husband pulled you aside for the refill. Ive been a waitress. Im patient. I just want my order to come out correctly and altogether and my drink to stay full. Im not asking to be baby sat and my face wiped for me. If your OK with mediocre food and a place that fails to prepare for the demand then this your spot. Fail to prepare then prepare to fail. Sincerely. A disappointed local.

I visited this place after seeing it on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. I heard it was good, but was never interested beforehand. Now that I have visited, this is going to be one of my regular stops. I ordered the sausage breakfast burrito with a mix of hot and mild green chili. My husband got the bacon and sausage omelet with a side of pancakes. My daughter got the Mickey Mouse chocolate chip pancake. We split the giant cinnamon roll. Even with coffee and orange juice, our bill was under $40 with a tip! All of the food was delicious! The green chili was not spicy, but it was the best Ive had. My husbands omelet was mouth watering. The hashbrowns were crispy and fresh. My daughters pancake was filled to the brim with chocolate chips, which she loved. The cinnamon roll was ginormous and out of this world good. Our server was the most friendly server I have met since living here. She reminded me of an old friend in San Antonio who owned a restaurant. She acted like she was family and my daughter really took to her. My only gripe is that the table are too small to accommodate 3 people eating.

Most disappointing brunch place in Colorado Springs. The only good part is the outside seating. Ive been looking forward to coming here since I first moved to Colorado Springs over a year and a half ago, but I wont be going back. First if all, the waitress forgot about us and we had to ask to place our order after being seated for 20 minutes. The waitress acted like we were imposing on her and wasnt pleasant at all. Then, when we did get our food (I ordered the breakfast burrito) the only edible part was the green chili and the hash browns. The tortilla was hard and the sausage looked like something you would put on a pizza. My boyfriend ordered the pancake and it looked delicious! However, upon tasting it the burnt flavor overpowered anything else. Not a good experience and a waste of money.

We had googled best breakfast in Colorado Springs and saw this place and decided to try it after reading the reviews. There was a little bit of a wait but as we were sitting there waiting other guests would ask us if you ever eaten there when we told them know they told us that we will love it. We did! The food was delicious right down to the homemade jam. The atmosphere is warm and inviting and very laid-back. We highly recommend this place. Didnt even know that we were talking to the owner who was our server and she was just as nice as could be.

MOUNTAIN SHADOWS IS THE BOMB!!!! Colorado Springs best breakfast joint, period. The staff? Sweetheart specialists in customer service. Oh, youre hungry? The delicious food will make your Taste Buds Erupt in an Uncontrollable Flavor Explosion of AWESOME!! Its cozy, too, so bring that FOINE lil hunny here and watch her eyeballs glisten with heartfelt glory. Order anything on the menu-you cant go wrong. Ask for Tara...Shell remember your order with some mad Rain Man memorization skills and make sure you feel right at home. BOOM...Come eat here!

This is the best locally owned restaurant there is in town. The co-owner Ben is an excellent worker. The jam was homemade by him the night before and all of the ingredients for my sandwich, salad, and tea were extremely fresh. Ben was very involved in the tasks of the restaurant and was extremely knowledgable about the menu. The other employees knew some of the locals and regulars by name. The menu has a huge variety of breakfast and lunch items. This is definitely my new favorite place to go.

Food was absolutely amazing! Even my dog loved it. They have a dog friendly outside seating area which was nice because i came down from denver with my dog. However i had the worst service ive ever had in my life from Erin. Saw her 3 times in the hour we were seated. Had to ask bussers for service. She was friendlier to the table next to us that she wasnt waiting. The rest of the staff seems great, but i would make sure i requested to not have her if i come back

This place has such good breakfast, they are on the point all the time. They really are nice people and they have fast service. The eggs are really good and plenty full. The pancakes are also a really good choice. They are huge and very filling. There is a waitress that sings too, if you are there at the correct times. It seems like this place has been here for a long time, I just recently moved out here and I really liked this restaurant for breakfast.
