To anyone who is looking at this company as a caterer for your event, please read this before you make your NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT!! My fiance and I had the absolute worst experience with this company. They make you pay a $200 deposit before ever trying their food (which no other caterer does). We should have known from the horrible communication we had with Food Designers right away, that they were going to be difficult to work with. Once the tasting was finally scheduled, we showed up to find that the person who scheduled us and orchestrated the tasting wasnt even there. She no-called no-showed us. The "tasting room" was the most pathetic thing we had ever seen and it required that we wear our jackets the whole time. Maybe the cold weather was also the reason why the food was cold? Who knows? But yes, the food (that was "cooked" 15 feet away from our table) came out cold and horribly presented. For what we were quoted, we were appalled by the whole experience. On our hour and a half drive home, we decided to try other caterers to see if our expectations were just too high. Come to find out, we went to three other tasting and our "expectation" that we questioned were blown out of the water. After the second tasting, we decided to approach Food Designer to try and get our deposit back. This was a fail. After emails back-and-forth (and countless lies from one of the owners), we swallowed our pride and moved on to a company 100 times more professional. All said and done, my advice here is...DONT sign a contract or give these people money without going to a tasting and deciding for yourself.

I do not even know where to start. This place has you give them a deposit based on an overview of charges. Then they send you a contract that is slightly different than the overview. Later, they send you a proposal of your event costs and It is here that you become aware of even more "hidden charges. They charge you rental for every knife, fork, spoon, glass, plate etc. When you realize that your price keeps going up, and try to back out based on breach of conntract, they keep your deposit. DO NOT EVEN BOTHER.

We love this caterer! They have done an outstanding job for our annual party each year for the past 4 years and we would highly recommend them. Their service & menu are always outstanding. Additionally - they are very competitively priced and an excellent value. The menu is always unique and ever changing, making every occasion even better than the previous one. Food Designers is a leader in the industry and we are fortunate to have such a top rate caterer in the Colorado Springs area!

We had Food Designers cater our dinner party. The food was excellent--elegantly prepared. However, the food quantities were insufficient. The dinners were individually plated and at least 3 of our guests reported being hungry after the meal! We contracted for the minimum level of 10 people, yet we only had 9 people at the dinner. I shudder to think what the portions would have been if the 10th person had attended! Given the price of catering this event we were disappointed.

We have used Food Designers for years and love them. Heather and Andy are very fair and the food is great. They can work in any environment and are flexible and fun! Highly recommend.
