Found myself at Plaza Diner today for lunch. First impression, its pretty cute, wheelchair accessible, outdoor dining, spacious parking lot. Walked in and was seated immediately. This is where everything stared go wrong. They sat me right by the employees cleaning station, so I was able to see EVERYTHING they were doing to the food. An older woman came over and took my order. I had a plain 3 egg omelet with spinach, broccoli, sausage and American cheese with an iced tea. Now heres what I dont understand, she ASKED me if I wanted sweet tea or unsweetened tea. I said sweet, she asked if I wanted raspberry or peach. I said peach. 1 minute later she brought over a CUP OF WATER with what tasted like a squirt of peach concentrate. UNBELIEVEABLE. The food came out pretty fast, and honestly it wasnt that bad besides the broccoli tasting oldish. But I couldnt even enjoy the food because of the placement I was sitting. I actually saw a waitress clear an empty table, DRINK out of an half empty cup of soda and then empty the rest out. DISGUSTING. I was able to see they didnt have an ice dispenser, just a cooler filled with ice under the fountain drinks. I saw EVERYONE putting their HANDS in the cooler to fill cups and at one point one waitress opened the cooler, popped some ice in her mouth and kept going. SO UNSANITARY. After that I couldnt take anymore and was just ready to go. I looked around for TEN MINUTES for the older woman that was serving me to get the check. Finally spot her at the bar, sitting on a booth, shooting the breeze with another costumer. SO UPSETTING. Finally get her attention to get the check, by the way they charged me an unsweetened iced tea. Go to the cashier, she is completely disregarding me, talking with her friend as Im paying. SO UNPROFESSIONAL. Take it from RHYS, spend your money elsewhere.

I work right near the plaza diner in the Corporate park behind there. I find that on the average the food has been very consistent and there is not much that we have eaten from there that we have not liked . Their soups are really good and my wife likes their turkey club. I have never really found the service to be rude, though not extremely overenthused to help. (They are waiters and waitresses what do you want?). I have never had a problem with them though I order mosly at night. My folks who stayed up here during my childs birth say that they were slow and messed up their b-fast order in the morn. To all you 1 time visit review writers- give them another chance!

We were given a menu within minutes of entering, even though it was high noon and know from experience how busy a diner can be at that time. We found a menu with plenty of choices for all tastes and were never rushed nor was service slow. The food was excellent, waitress pleasant and courteous. Prices were reasonable. It was an enjoyable experience and one we will repeat.

I cant say enough about the awful experience we had here last night. The waitress was extremely rude and annoyed the whole time. My daughter waited over an hour for a waffle and it never even came! When I brought it to the managers attention he was rude and condescending. Ive had this experience here one too many times. Definitely never going back.

A great little diner. Food is a cut above most other diners, service is quick and polite, and the portions are generous for the price. I dont usually go out of my way for diner food, but if Im feeling peckish in the Bridgeport Avenue area, Im more likely to skip the chain restaurants and head to Plaza Diner.

Took our granddaughter here this morning I am sad to even give it one star they dont even deserve that! I was worried that if we ate the food they brought us that we would end up with food poisoning! It was really that horrible! Not only was the food horrible the service was just as bad

Typical diner. Variety of menu items. Full bar. Nice facility. Is being renovated at the time of writing this review. Dont worry still open for business. Open 24 hours and also has breakfast available anytime. Go here for a good meal when you are in the area.

My wife and I are on vacation from florida and are staying in the Shelton area and have stopped in at the plaza diner for the last couple of days the service is excellent no waiting time and the food is great. Would definitely recommend the plaza diner.

We have been going to the Plaza Diner for years. I have to say that with the exception of a couple of times (in all those years) we always get great service and great food. I highly recommend the Plaza Diner for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Fish & Chips - 2 measly pieces of fish....absolutely tasteless. Chicken Parm - sauce as thick as mud & the pasta was totally ovrcooked. The manager stands by the register - half asleep. Why not just get a cashier & let him bus the tables

It appears to be dark inside lighting isnt very favorable. The food is usually warm not necessarily hot but edible. Ive eaten there maybe three times in the last twenty years and havent had much to complain to management about.

My grandparents love it here, they get rewards, eat anything they want at anytime they are awake (not 24/7) but you get it. Service could have been better, but they have beer so not going to complain

Good food. Good atmosphere and quick service. A little old fashioned inside but that adds to the whole experience. I have eaten there over 30 times and almost every time was a good experience.
