I came in for a small quick lunch, I got lunch, but the quick not so much. Including myself, there was only 3 customers in at the time. I got a cup of pork chili soup which was good but extremely spicey, and their blackened salsa was also very good. The problem is with the waitress Jen, and perhaps the other staff as well. She and the other staff talked with themselves constantly. I had to wait over five minutes to get chips and have my order taken, another five to get a drink, and finally food. The absolute worst part of it was how long it took for me to get a check, and then get my change. She had my check with the 20 dollars inside, and I could literally watch and here her chatting with coworkers at the bar, rather than just bring me my change real quick. It was absolutely ridiculous. Will not be returning. What should have been a 15 minute lunch, turned into a 40 minute unpleasant experience. Again, there was in total just 3 customers. What the hell is wrong with a waitress that prefers talking over serving such a small amount of customers.

Went to Salsa Brava for Dinner on June 21, 2014 with 4 adults and two small children. The adults ordered and kids did not...Our food was good, not great but good, drinks were drinks, nothing special. Our waiter was good but kind of a smart ass but made us laugh....Received our bill and my husband signed it and shoved my copy in my purse...I didnt look till the next day but the waiter had taken it upon himself to add his own tip to the tune of 17 something dollars. I called for the manager that evening and he said they automatically add tips for parties of 6 or more...kids dont count. So I was questioning why this was done and he said he was busy and would call me the next morning...Never heard from him again and I went home (out of state)...Just wanted people to know - check your bill carefully and you dont have to accept that the waiters want to name their own tip...B.S.!! Very unprofessional and disrespectful of the manager and wont ever be back.

Visiting from Florida, I was looking forward to some good Mexican food here in Colorado. I was very pleased with Salsa Brava. They use the word "Fresh" in their name, and they walk the walk. I could tell the ingredients were fresh, and it makes a big difference. The salsa, pico, and queso were outstanding. Their pineapple salsa is excellent. It starts with a sweet taste and finishes with a kick! Delicious! I had the barbacoa tacos and special ordered them with corn tortillas instead of flour. They were beautiful to look at, and tasted just as good! Very nice presentation! The staff worked together very well as a team. It gave the sense of a "family-run" restaurant. Very friendly and personal service. If you are a first-timer, they bring out a sampler trio of their queso, pico, and salsa. The chips are fresh and crispy, too. The atmosphere is very nice and cozy. We would go again! Highly recommended.

There are 3 things in my book that makes a great restaurant, 1 good food, 2 great staff, 3 a clean establishment. This place hit all 3 out of the ball park. You dont want to pass this gem. The salsa had great flavor. We loved the hot salsa if you like spicy try it. It had just the right heat and sweetness to it. We inhaled it, and our waiter Kevin was so kind to fill it for us 3 times. We asked a few of the staff members what they liked and they didnt steer my husband wrong. He loved the steak and avocado burrito. I wanted to go with a small dish and tried the Pork Verde. Kevin warned me that some customers think its spicy but it was perfect. The manager on duty Jackie came by to check on us and we started talking. She was so friendly and gave us some wonderful suggestions for sightseeing as I told her we were in from out of town. We will be coming back the next time we are in town.

I looked up this place on The Independents website and read the reviews here on Google. I saw that there were a few bad things to be said about the staff but the main problem was the food. I had ordered the mesquite chicken as recommended by waiter and when it came, I was already unhappy. The barbecue sauce that they drenched this little piece of chicken in tasted and smelled like it was made by Kroger (Second rate everything). I paid 13 dollars for chicken, disgusting room temperature black beans and a little bit of lettuce with a little spoon of guacamole and sour cream that i didnt even touch. Driving home, i had the worst stomach ache Ive had in a long time. If you feel like just throwing away money, donate it to the bum on the side of the street, at least your money didnt go to waste.

A fantastic local restaurant and my favorite Mexican food in Colorado Springs! Service at the Rockrimmon location a few years ago was hit or miss, but has been consistently excellent lately--so if you havent been recently, give it a try again. There are many excellent entrees to choose from, including more traditional Mexican dishes and things you might not expect, like my personal favorite--the chipotle barbecue pork ribs. They have a pretty impressive array of gluten-free options, though I do wish they had more vegetarian-friendly choices (although their cilantro lime rice and black beans are yummy vegetarian alternatives to the Spanish rice and borracho beans included with most dishes). And of course, delicious desserts - who can resist fried ice cream?

You have to like a place where the people you are with greet all the staff by name and give them hugs. But now Ive outed myself and certainly cant say anything bad about it either! If youre looking for a place that really belongs in its neighborhood, this is it. You will find an authentic Colorado experience without the trappings or intensity of something along the freeway, and it will be delivered in a consistent, reliable way without a lot of frufru. There is a bar and a tv, but this is not a sports bar. It is crowded at the times when people in the neighborhood are ready to get out--like Saturday morning after a hike or run, or when the soccer games end, the school nearby has a special event, etc. And the library is across the parking lot, too.

My husband and I grew up in Texas and we love good Mexican food. Now that were living in the Springs, weve tried several Mexican restaurants but theyve all been bleh until we discovered Salsa Brava last night. If youre wanting delicious and fresh food, this is the place to go. The moment our waitress put the chips and salsa on the table, we knew we had found a winner. The staff were all super friendly, the environment was terrific and the food was excellent. We ordered chimichangas and enchiladas and we each said that it was the best wed ever had. The margaritas were yummy, too We highly recommend this restaurant! Oh - and they have a gluten free menu which is a huge bonus for our family. :)

Clearly poor servce & dishonest pricing. We had a moody waitress who was insulting in her communication. When our party tried to solve the problem, while the manager was standing there, & find out why she was so stressed out the waitress reacted in a completly hostile manner with her tone & physical demeanor. They then were dishonest in their billing of our party by charging gratuity. The food was average but who knew if they tainted the food since the staff was clearly against the customer. Would not recommend eating at this restaurant. Clearly their staff needs Anger Management Training & their management needs Customer Service Training as well. An unfortunate experience all the way around.
