Im pretty confident that if this is as they claim "the best Asian restaurant in South East Denver" as they claim.... Well I have bad news Denver, because apparently we have the worst Asian food in America. I ordered the Hot and Spicy Chicken for a pickup and I can say without hesitation it was the worst Asian food that has ever touched my lips. Basically my order was a box of chicken knuckles that had been breaded, deep fried, and tasted like it was rolled in chicken bullion before getting tossed together with some jalapeno and dried Chile Japones peppers. It was greasy, inedible because of the salt content; and sadly their rice wasnt much better. Im a huge fan of salt and use it generously, but this dish was basically poison. When I called to let them know they really dropped the ball and find out if there was a new chef working or how they could make something so bad and charge money for it, the guy actually said "we can give you credit if you come in for lunch." No thanks, I still cant feel my tongue from all the salt/msg I tasted.

I was waiting for my car to be detailed at the nearby BumperDoc, so i decided to head in here and wait. While i was here, I ordered the lunch Sashimi, which came with 2 pieces each of 5 varieties of tasty raw fish. The lunch meal also came with a cup of soup, which I chose the Hot and Sour soup. Everything tasted great and the hot tea hit the spot. I was here a few hours with my Kindle while waiting for my car to get done, and they were OK with that. At no point did I feel like I needed to rush to leave, though it probably helped that they werent too busy. If I found myself in the area and was feeling like Asian cuisine, I would most likely stop here again.

Over the years its been hit and miss. Mostly hit. Ive learned to order during peak hours. That must be when they have the best chefs working. The last few times I ordered the Mongolian Beef, Kung Pow Chicken, Pork Fried rice and egg rolls along with Crab cream cheese wontons. All were outstanding, so delicious. The times Ive ordered off peak hours, same dishes, the sauces did not taste at all the same. I would definitely recommend Golden Shanghai but only during peak hours. Plus it took 8 min from ordering to my door tonite. N its fabulous! Plus, I had several special requests and all were spot on! Totally recommend!

This is some of the worst Chinese food Ive ever had. Actually, its some of the worst food I have ever had. Everything was extremely bland. The wonton soup broth was terrible and there wasnt even meat in the wontons. There was nothing mixed in with the fried rice, which was also bland. The sesame chicken and mu shu tasted like cardboard. Basically, the only edible thing in our whole order was the mu shu wraps. Seriously, Ive had better Chinese food at a $1 scoop joint. Do your self a favor and order from ANY other Chinese restaurant in town.

Its funny. I live right by this place and drove by it about 100x before I actually went in. Ive never wrote a review before but I had to on this one. The decoration is amazing! Quiet and private, I love taking my girlfriend to this place. The food is amazing. I have been eating Sushi since I was born and actually had a sushi place babysit me a few times when I was young! I grew up in LA and I want to say the sushi is amazing! The staff are very nice and welcoming also it isnt overpriced which is a huge plus! Check this place out if you can

Food was very delicious actually and they were pretty fast and fresh, but the portions were unfortunately extremely disappointing. Price not too bad if the portions were decent, but it was literally like a regular spoon scoop of meat smothered in nothing but a bunch of vegetables. Also it used to come with a drink which Im not sure if they just stopped adding that or what because when you mention it a few have said they forgot it or even another said it doesnt come with it and hes not sure when it stopped so I dont know.

I just love this resteraunt! I moved to Denver in 2002 and I found Golden Shanghai to be excellent then and went in or order once per week for 3-4 years! Best Kung Pao chicken around! I moved to a different part of town and badly missed this place. Today the opportunity came up on this side of town and I wasnt let down one bit! Same friendly service (she remembered my order from years ago!) The meal was delicious, its not overpriced at all, and the service was excellent. I cant recommend this gem of a resteraunt enough.

I ordered delivery last week and my large wonton soup spilled in the bag on the way to my house. It got all over everything. The bottom fell out of the bag because it was so wet. The driver said he would make a note on my account so I would get a free soup the next time I ordered since that one spilled. I called in today to order and they said there was no note and that if something like that happened they would have known about it. I wont be ordering from here anymore, which is a shame because the food is good.

Way over priced for sub par food, not just belly aching serious problem with the quality to price ratio. Just paid 13 dollars for a crap 10 maybe 15 piece portion of Tao that WAS NOT spicy at all even after ordering a Tao with request of spicy when ordered you couldnt taste any I mean any spice. Then 1.50 for 1 12 oz. Can of coke. If you want to piss away your money then go, of you want value Im recommending you find another spot. The food was fine edible wise but very disappointing.

I have enjoyed the food here, especially the sashimi, previously, but 2 days ago I ordered a delivery. The sashimi was lacking in salmon, & the ginger (my fave) was thick & rubbery-hardly chewable; the PadThai was tasteless & needed more than the sauce that came with it. The chicken satay was awful-thick, not golden, looked uncooked & the Worst "peanut" sauce was thin, the texture of water and tasteless. It went in the garbage. I am SO disappointed, may never visit them again. LL

I dont recommend this restaurant. This place is awful. Waitresses are not professional. Waitresses did not pay attention to their customers. They did not come to our table even when we ran out of water and steamed rice. When we got the bill, my friend found that the waitresses added 18% tip to the bill without our permission. To be honest, they did not serve us very well. I will never go to this restaurant again. Anyway, pay attention to your bill when you eat at this restaurant.

I have to give it a 2 star rating because I wrote "Im vegan- please no eggs or dairy" on two of the items I ordered and when it arrived there was egg in both of them. I had to settle for white rice and side veggies and couldnt eat what I had ordered. The food looks like it would be amazing but they ignored special instructions and could possibly ignore allergens just as easily.
