So my friends took me here for dinner my first night in town. The special that night was prime rib. I being a very hungry asked for the queen cut. Asked for it to be cooked medium rare and plain( no onions, mushrooms or horseradish) not that I dont like those but rather I wanna see how just the meat tastes. Three weeks later, my knees still go week with delight, just thinking of that prime rib. By far that is the most delicious cut of meat I have ever put in my mouth. High plains Diner yall know what you are doing, and am currently awaiting my next time out there. Have the king cut ready.

The food is terrific! There are several unique items along with many usual items on the menu. Good variety. The wait staff is always friendly and attentive. It can get quite busy sometimes but they always try to get to your table quickly. Years ago, when we first moved to Bennett, we tried this restaurant a couple of times and were very unimpressed. The food was ok and the waitress was more interested with visiting with her friends than taking our order and getting our food out to us. We havent been back until this year and were amazed at the changes.

I Like the food, great value for your dollar, friendly people and atmosphere..I heard flower lady owned extreme wings which lasted 2 weeks after HPD opened in its new location..Try it and judge for your self.. we are never disappointed .. Update 1 year later, food getting a little boring.. Big shell chips in claim chowder. Jean didnt seem to care.. Dont go that often anymore, frankly just board with same old same old.. Even specials half the time are right off the menu.. Seems they are even getting a little bored with it..

Rode to High Plains Diner today and had a great lunch. Jennifer my server was very attentive and pleasant. The food arrived in a timely manner and was good and hot. Plenty of food so you could take a doggie bag but ate all mine. What also impressed me the most was the cleanliness of the Diner. I am riding to a different place in Colorado each week (weather permitting) and this is a place I will go to again. I would highly recommend.

We live very close to this diner and if youre driving bye and blink... youll miss it... which would be an absolute shame. The servers are amazing and the food is phenomenal. Its cheap and the portions are large. Fully stocked bar and home made breakfast until 2 in the afternoon. Its a morning weekend ritual to come here and enjoy their bottomless mimosas with amazing burritos. Love it and dont plan on going anywhere else.

Even though some of the staff are great, I dont know what happened here. It is very noisy, you cant hardly hear the person sitting next to you. When you come in, and it is apparent that you have an very elderly, disabled person with you, the staff wants to put you in the furthest table possible, no consideration for the elderly person. No ability to order smaller portions or make adjustments to any dishes on the menu.

Diner? More like a Cafeteria! I was expecting a "home town" Have what you like, when you like. Seemed to me like cafeteria food and breakfast is over at 11ish. To heck with you if you have a different schedule than a banker. Having Dinner forced upon you at 11 is annoying. The food is bland. For those who believe this is "Home Town" food, or Unique,...... keep looking. This isnt it!

The service at this place is amazingly good. The food is okay , had a burger. Nothing spectacular, nothing horrible about it either. Fries tasted like onions. They should be using a separate fryer, obviously. Probably very good for around that area. They need to get a filter for their water. The water is horrible. Service was very good

My family ate here on the way home after spending our day at The Wild Animal Sanctuary, and were very happy with the experience! Not what you would expect from a strip mall diner next to a Dollar Store. The food and service were both fantastic! We also enjoyed delicious homemade pie and cake. What a great treat!

Since coming under new ownership the food has gone downhill. Would go there for prime rib but the last time when they brought out the "prime rib " it looked liked a thinly sliced piece of ham stake that was fried up in a frying pan. Use to love going there for dinner but the food is bad and the cost is expensive.

This place took very good care of a group of us. Wait staff was friendly, quick, and accurate. Food was average but had that "home-cooked" feel to it, which is a bonus. The menu is what you would expect from the rurally-located diner. Well-placed just off the highway and near fuel and other shops.

The food was really good. And the service was top notch! There was 8 of us and we split the check and they said that it wouldnt be a problem. The food came out really fast and very good. But the service was top notch! We stayed at the KOA in Strasburg just a short drive away.

Service was terrible. My family of 6 (2 adults 3 kids and a baby) sat for a half hour waiting to be seated as several tables sat empty and others were seated that came much later than us. No apologies or time frame given. Extremely poor customer service. I do not recommend.

We prefer local diners to chain diners, because of the more homestyle food. High Plains def delivers on that! We also get incredible service EVERY time we eat there- no matter what time of day. Note to kitchen- MORE cheese curds please! ;-)

The food was amazing as well as the deserts and even though we went in right before closing they treated us with no rush and amazing service. On top of all of that a anonymous stranger was kind enough to cover my and two others meals.

The food is always good. They have the best chick fried steak I have ever tasted. The coffee tastes like soap. The service is usually efficient but not very pleasant. I have friendlier service from Dennys in the ghetto.

Only diner in Bennett--so guess what? It will be busy Saturday and Sunday mornings, but they hustle! They are a great team and the food is awesome. Pineapple mimosas for breakfast?? Yes please.
