Moriches Bay Diner has been one of the best restaurants Ive discovered since moving out to Suffolk County nine years ago. The food and the wait staff have consistently been fantastic over the years. The only reason Im giving them four stars instead of five is because their fries arent as outstanding as they used to be. When I first started going here their fries didnt have all the shortening that they have now, personally I feel that the shortening ruins the once fantastic fries they had so thats the reason they lose one star from me. Despite that MBDs fries are still good but not as phenomenal as they used to be. Moriches Bay Diner also has the best burgers out of any restaurant in the area, and their breakfast meals such as the Chocolate Chip Pancakes, and the French Toast are wonderful as well. One last thing Ill mention is that if you ever have room for dessert try the Chocolate Mousse cake, its simply amazing! In closing if youre ever in the Moriches area and want a diner with fantastic food, wait staff, and dessert look no further than MBD.

Moved to Long island 10 years ago in those 10 years we have been to different diners all over Long island. Moriches Bay Diner is absolutely the best diner. The food is awesome and the prices are right, The staff is also great. I only had one bad experience with a staff member who seats the people coming in. I was waiting for some time to be seated and in walked in this couple and just took a table because they knew him. The employee saw how pissed off I was that in the 10 years I have been going there it has not happened again. Staff is very attentive and the owners or co owners also welcome and ask how you are doing and if the service is going fine. The place is clean, always clean, and it was just recently upgraded as well. It is always packed so come early or you will have a good wait time. Packed place is a good thing, it means its that good. Yes I give it 5 stars.

Service has become terrible.. I went with my family and EVERY aspect of the order was wrong.. my parents ordered bake potatoes and got french fries.. I got soup I did not even order. I got an incorrect drink.. The waitress was a disaster. . Most recently my family went there and was asked for id for alcoholic beverages. The waitress was very rude and nasty. My mother is in 60s and I am 40? Really ? I understand being careful but neither one us look 21..We asked for Spiro, one of the owners, who was very rude to us . This is not usually like him. But this is the last time we will EVER go there. 15 years of going there 1 x week has come to end

HORRIBLE experience with the co-owner. I found a dead mosquito on top of the chicken dinner. Explained and showed this to him/her (not sure if it is a man or woman) and the reply was, "its not a perfect world, and we do a pretty good job." Really, at what, serving mosquitos with dinner? What a poor response from an owner of a restaurant. Plus, a burnt, rotten potato was served. Disgusting, dirty establishment, with a disgraceful co-owner! If I could give less than 1 star for the poor way in which this individual handled this situation, I would have. Their loss, since I will be going to the Royal Oak Diner from now on.

Go to this diner at least once a month. Always a good choice when you dont feel like cooking and the food is above average to excellent. I noticed that if you modify the plates too much they mostly dont get it right but they try. Now I pretty much know what I will order and it comes out perfect. The food comes fast and I can never finish because its so much. I love the build your own breakfast wrap. Spinach feta and bacon! Yummmm. I think they have a great choice of food and the owner is truly genuine nice guy. If you had a problem give it a second chance, I did and Im happy I did.

The moriches bay diner use to be a favorite place for my fiance and I to get a decent meal for a good price. It seems that they have lost the ability to turn out good food in a reasonable amount of time. The last time we ate there we sat for 45 minutes before our waitress came out to let us know that one of our meal choices was not available and wed have to choose something else. Although the manager was told of our predicament he never came over to apologize nor were we offered anything to show that our patronage was valued. We will bring our business elsewhere from now on.

This Diner is up above all the rest.Spiro is a class act. He makes the diner what it is today.If he wasnt there I wouldnt be writing this. The food is great.Just like anything else not everyone is perfect but he has a A+ staff that gives it there all. They work long hours and work very hard to make everyone happy! You cant always make everyone happy. But Spiro will do anything to make you happy, He takes time out to go to every table and ask if everything is ok and hows your family. That means a lot. Food Is HORRIBLE !!! I Ordered A Gyro & It Was Cold Lettuce Was Welted Tomatoes Were Very Soggy , The Manager Was Very Rude & The Wait Service Is Horrible And Lazy & Disgusting One Of The Waitresses Coughed Over Another Customers Food And Tried To Play It Off As She Saw Me Looking At Her , They Dont Attend To Your Drinks They Also Do Not Have Good Customer Service Believe Me I Wouldnt Lie To You Cause I Honestly Feel Everyone Deserves Great Service. If You Choose To Go And Eat Here I Hope That You Recant Your Decision!!

This is the best diner!!! The food is always fresh and amazing (and they have great gluten free options like hamburger buns, toast, french fries etc). Every single time I have been there, the owner goes table to table asking how each groups experience was. In fact, he even remembered exactly where we sat the last time we were there! I have yet to have even one waiter or waitress that I didnt love... the entire staff is happy and helpful. Truly, it is the only diner on this Island with such service and food!!!

As someone who has over a decade of food service and customer service experience, I can say with confidence that this diner is the best diner experience I have ever had. I have been going here for about 15 years. It does not matter if the place is packed out or I am there at 2am with the skeleton crew... the food and staff are always great. Thank you to Spiro and the crew for being part of so many memories over the years.

THE best diner! I come from a family of restaraunt owners and the Moriches Bay has all the ingredients it takes to make a business work. The manager, Spiros, always greets his customers with a smile, the servers are professional, polite , and care about their customers, and the meals come in a timely manner and are delicious! I highly recommend this diner, you will leave satisfied and happy!
