The girl answering the phone taking orders barely speaks English and most the time I dont even think she understands it either she is very rude when we have ordered our food to be delivered they made a mistake and we called to inform them and for them to fix it she did not take ownership of her mistake and wanted to sit and yell and argue over the phone that it was my husbands fault then she hung up on him when we called back she would just pick it up and hung up again so we called from a different phone she still yelling even tho I asked to speak to a manàger she said she was I will never order from here again and personally I dont think anyone should support a business that is rude and disrespectful to their customers I will be calling the Better Business bureau and if she is here on a work visa I hope it gets revoked she need some lessons in customer service or she needs to go back from whatever rock she climbed out from under I wouldnt recommend any one purchase food from there the only thing I do recommend is the get new owners or they shut down cuz that lady Id bad about business

My family regularly gets food here. The proprietor and his wife are Chinese, but have taken the trouble to learn both English and Spanish; they mostly employ Chinese, but also try to employ locals. We have only had good from here. Doubt it? Go see the Yelp reviews. As for bad reviews, I can only say that while visiting another nearby restaurant (Subway), I encountered a couple who seemed to be engaged in blackmail against the proprietor. I have seen local businesses attacked -- windows broken, car sales with the cars vandalized... some businesses driven out of business. I would take ANY bad reviews from this area, with a grain of salt. In general, most of the businesses up and down Victory Blvd are *pretty good*.

Ive never had a positive experience at this place. The restaurants staff are very nasty and rude for no reason. I tried to order multiple times and have only encountered several problems. First, the woman who answers the phone is very rude. When I asked what her problem is, she says that its because "you people" dont know what you want to eat. That should have been my clue to go elsewhere, but Im a pretty forgiving person. On top of her being rude, the food was mediocre at best. During my visit to the store, the service was rushed, aggressive, and the woman who answers the phone constantly has an attitude. Save your money and get a headache-free experience at another place, not Eddys Express in Portsmouth.

Sometimes you walk into a restaurant and they have too many options. The phrase jack of all trades and master of none comes to mind. That is what one would first think when entering Eddys. To my surprise they are skilled at making all the dishes I have tried. If you are in the mood for "traditional" American Chinese Take Out they excel at this. However if you want something different like a cheeseburger, philly steak sub or even a pizza Eddys has something on the menu for you. A family run business they are very friendly and will get your food to you very quickly.

I just placed an order thru them. First of all the lady that answers the phone is completely Rude when I say rude I mean she almost got slapped thru the phone rude. She placed me on hold every time I began to talk. Then hung up on me more than twice. She lucky I was hungry I called back a third time, I told her to stop hanging up on me and she said "you Needa hurry up and place your order". I havent even stepped foot in the restaurant and after that phone call they wont ever have to worry bout my service.

The people ate nice and smile every time I visit and some of them know me and almost know what I want. The food is good and if they make a mistake I just take it back and they will give me the right stuff, sometimes I get the wrong order to keep for free.

If there was an award for "Nastiness Staff," those who work at this restaurant would win it. The food is cheap but its not worth the drama you have to put up with for the cheap food.
