As everyone else agrees, you go there for the food. Pick anything, you cant go wrong. The chicken breast is wonderful (and its high quality meat, too). So is the naan (always fresh). So are the curries (try the eggplant curry). The staff are very friendly, maybe sometimes a bit disorganized but always cheerful. As for the interior, imagine Hogwarts meets hole in the wall meets Silicon Valley nerds (yes, they have a painting of what is supposed to be Dumbledore, the place is in a run-down strip mall next to a bong shop, and half of its patrons are Indian engineers working in the local tech companies, as identified by their shirts). And yes, I love this place!

I had couple instances with this restaurant and vegeterian here sucks !! I had tried both dine in and take away. They dint even cut the Naans and just gave it as is full. Also it wasnt prepared well, i could taste dough. Even the curries prepared were oily and not prepared well. Palak paneer was like as if some paneer is put into boiled spinch. The chana masala was like separate masala with chichpeas. The food you can sense the non veg smell. I would not recommend this restaurant for a veggie person. And one more thing... the staff is as unfirendly as it gets... This is the worst restaurant in bay area for me.

This is a very very popular place. The food is good, but I wouldnt call it great. My biggest issue is cleanliness and hygiene. We make the food to go. One time we were sitting down to have dinner. A gentleman with traditional clothing was sitting and having food; I think he worked for the place. He took out his sandals and killed a huge cockroach on the wall. It was pretty disgusting frankly. I think they have improved since, but they still need to really work on it.

Very disappointed. Unhygienic food preparation. I watched the guy running the cash register go into the kitchen, reach into his pocket, check his cell phone, handle the restaurant phone, and then use his bare hands to squeegee sauce into a container used to serve people. Yechhh! I will never eat that sauce. The owner should be ashamed of this. Very unsanitary. No effort at all to use clean food prep practices.

Really good and spicy Indian and Pakistani food! And by spicy I mean so spicy that the Indians would like it. Hard to find a good Indian food place this good. The curries are okay but their tandoori chicken and lamb and kebabs are really amazing! Try all of this with their unlimited onion and bell pepper salad with masala and corriander-curd chutney! Also you get unlimited free serving of Indian Tea(Chai)!!

This hole in the wall restaurant serves excellent Indian & Pakistani food and is open late (till 3:00 AM) weekends. Apart from the non-vegetarian dishes, they have a variety of vegetarian ones too. Their Naan and rotis are really good. The crowd is eclectic, though a majority of them are South Asians, They also cater for take-outs.

Shahs Tandoori and Seekh Kebabs are at par with the best that Ive tasted. Theyre well done and very flavorful. Also; free salad, mint sauce and chai. The curries are average, but if youre even getting to the entrees and your stomach isnt already full one and a half times over with Tandoori goodness, youre doing it wrong.

The Achari Murg was amazing, and so were the tandoori tikkas. Went 2 times, the food quality was quite different both times, but both were tasty. The first time, the achari murg was outstanding - hardly any oil, full of flavor. The 2nd time the Achari murg was a bit oily, but the beef nihari was outstanding.

This place is an excellent little gem. Near the Sunnyvale - Mountain View border, the storefront and ambiance bear a very unassuming appearance, but dont let that fool you! Food is fresh and delicious tasting, my wife and I routinely get the Lamb curry, Dahl Fry, Tandoori Chicken Leg, and Bhindi Masala.

I came back to this place after 8 months. This place has definitely changed either new management or new Cheff. Food tastes terrible cost lot more. Chicken Haleem tasted like boiled chicken with some boiled lentils and mixed grains. Yukh.... Horrible experience. Never coming back again.

The tandoori chicken tastes absolutely amazing with great flavors and well cooked meat but the curries are just meh. The restaurant itself seems very unprofessional and it takes a long time for the food to come out, often when its just sitting on the counter and no one has given it to you.

My goto place for some tasty garlic naans and tandoori chicken. Even their paneer isnt bad at all considering this is supposed to be indian-pakistani which generally have better meat stuff than vegetarian. Also its one of the few places opened till late around sunnyvale.

For the price, it is hard to beat the delicious food that shah puts out. I never venture far from the tikka masala, but it is far too good to try something else. The place isnt very fancy and you shouldnt expect much from ambiance, but the food is extremely good.

I have been going there since the day opened. It became lot popular now days and getting an order on time is challenge. Management is nice, food quality is good (try the achari ghost). Price has gone up a bit. Best thing about this place is their business hours.

One of the best Pakistan/Indian food in the bay. Always make a point to come here at least once a week. Being a vegetarian I can only give my opinion on the veggie dishes tho. Staff is always friendly and helpful...bonus they stay open late and serve free tea.

Do not order nehari and naan. Nehari tasted of aata and mirch with dry rubbery overcooked tasteless large pieces of beef. Naan is big and cooked but thick and hard to break. Didnt like it. I came here because of Google reviews. I dont plan on visiting again.

Food is good but over all service is bad. Dont expect any kind of customer service. These guys dont believe in it and dont even care. We have been served in disposal paper plates because they ran out of dishes and didnt wanna clean the used ones.

One of the best halal Indian restaurants in the Bay Area. Excellent value. Good flavor. The decor feels a bit grotty. One other awesome thing about them: late night! On weekends they are open to 3am. And they give cash discounts.

No frills budget restaurant with supremely awesome food. The Indian food is fantastic and among the best Ive had in the bay area. Its open till 3AM on Fridays and Saturdays! Service can be slightly slow during rush hour.
