Chaat House is a bustling restaurant in a quaint complex, on a busy el camino. The place is pretty popular lunch place for both Indian and non Indian crowd. This was one of the places where I have seen non-indian people also enjoying a meal alone ( Ideally they will be guided by a indian friend / co worker ) to help them learn the ropes. So kudos to Chaat House to achieve that feet. I work in a tech company which has a Cafe (which is pretty good) but we more often then not tend to go out for lunch. We went to Chaat House today and all of us ordered the House Thali. It comes with 3 curries, Dal, White Rice. Raita, Papad and two rotis and a sumptuous glass of butter milk. I love their Onion Paratha and hence we got one to share. We also got onions with the thali, which i think is a pretty important ingredient with north Indian food. I am very picky about onions.. but that is a story for other time. The service was fast and food was piping hot!! The place itself is pretty clean and thats an important thing for me when I go out, I am not too particular about the ambiance but the place should be clean. The saag was amazing !! Aloo mutter was something like what my mom used to make so thats like one of the highest compliments I could give to the place. The kadi, was too infused with a lot of turmeric and a few of friends had residue yellow fingers after the meal :) The taste was good though. The paneer paratha is pretty good. We had to order one more for the table. 30$ for a lunch of 3 people with almost 0 wait time is pretty good by South bay standard. Only reason I had given 4 stars and not 5 is, the guy at the counter is very particular about making changes to the thali, I was ready to pay extra but he said no changes mean no changes :) Customers need a way to eat what they want, without wasting food, as long as they are willing to pay the difference.

They have punchpie app on mobile, that gives you 1 thali free, after every 6 thalis you buy here. I go there only for lunch thali as veggies are made fresh in the morning. Evenings, they mostly use the lunchtime vegetables that are fresh in the morning. Chaat samosa was not good as samosa was not freshly made. The oil quality seemed bad so the bhatura and poori were bad quality too. Lunch thali was great, was freshly cooked, I go there mostly for lunch thali and it is clear that the lunch had freshly cooked vegetables. The staff/servers are friendly. The chaas is really watered down as they add lots of ice. But if you go there around 11:30 or so when the ice in the chaas has not melted which they add in the morning, you might find the chaas less watered down after you throw away the unmelted ice. Also they usually do not turn on the AC even when it is really hot; this is good for the environment but bad if you want comfort.

I love this place and eat here most times that Im in the area. Its a plain place, in a little strip mall, you go to the counter, order, pay, then get the food delivered to your table. The servers are always patient and friendly and the service is good. The all-veg food, however, is consistently fresh and excellent. And thats why we keep returning. On this last visit, we had the bhel poori (large and delicious), chaat samosa (I enjoy getting my samosa with chana masala), and the house thali, which comes with so many treats and is a little feast unto itself. We also had bread and chai. FWIW, were usually the only non-Indians eating there and theyll always be some Indian videos being shown.

Muli paratha tasted good (large enough), if u dont like raita try replacing it with something else (didnt try it myself though) Bhel thali was ok, bhel was not good just because it appeared to have bit extra masala/salt and tasted on salty side Pani puri and sev puri tasted good (puris could have been bit more puffier though, instead of bit flat... and you get to prepare the paani puris so you control how much stuff u want to add) overall good experience

This place is awesome. If you are craving quick, affordable, home style food, your search ends here. Its house thali, masala roti, rajma, sarson ka saag, mango lassi, chaas are v. good. Chaat is usually decent. Chana Bhatura and Gulab Jamuns are not that great. Best thing is no-frill menu, thin, well cooked chapatis, which you can keep on eating without worrying about weight gain :). Keep it up!

It used to be good but I dont know what happened. There are some selective Indian items from the menu that you may like. But I feel that they have lost that flavor touch to the food. I marked it down for being little blant on the flavor side of Indian meals. However the service is fast and food is decent. Dont expect mind blowing experience. Good place for reasonable Indian food.

I accidentally ordered my food here instead of at my regular spot when i called. When i came to this Chaat house, the guys behind the counter all were glaring at me and made me uncomfortable. Then when the food came it was so much worse than what i was used to. I couldnt even finish it. Beside the service and food, the building itself was pretty nice looking.

Definitely try the mango lassi! Their kitchen is very flexible. If you know what you want and it is not on the menu, they will try to accommodate your request if you can adequately describe what exactly you want and how to make it. The staff always greets you with a smile. Good place to hang out with friends over tea and snack.

The one star is for food only, because I had a very bad experience during my first visit. The guy who was taking orders was very much rude, and had no knowledge about his own menu, and was unnecessarily arguing with each n everyone. I totally lost my appetite after talking to that idiot. Ill not recommend this place to anyone.

Very goof for the kind of food you expect from it i.e. do not go in expecting fine dining or a dinner date place but definitely go if you want some quick yet tasty Indian Chaats. My personal favorite in the Dahi Papdi Chaat and Aloo Paranthas but my wife tries the thali and says good things about it too.

Come here for lunch now and then. Their thali meals are delicious without aggressive restaurant like tasting. Loved the chaas, chaat samosa and tea(which is always super hot). Service is mostly fast. Can get crowded during lunch times. This is a place if you want food quick at a great price.

Lunch thali is really fresh since the food is prepared in the morning and quantity of vegetables in thali is good too. The cashiers are friendly too. Dinner thali has lower quality and quantity of vegetable items. Samosa chaat is nice, and so is Chole bhature. Bhel Thali is good as well

Tasty Indian food. Always regret I didnt remember what I ordered because I am not familiar with the menu. But its OK, they always recommended good selection and amount. Though, I wish one day they replace all the styrofoam plates and cups with eco-friendly ones.
