I am one of those people who doesnt give up after one try. I have given Bawarchi 4 chances. Today was the day I will call it quit. All 4x, the service never improved. They have horrible service. It takes about 40-45 min from when the order goes into the system to when I can actually walk out of the restaurant with my food. I would be told 15-20 min wait for my food every time. I continue to check with them every 5 min and they would just look at me and give me a nod. NO response as to how much longer the wait would be or can I offer you a glass of water. They do not have eye contact or are they customer oriented. I contine to come here for one the food is excellent and 2 its a walk away from my office. But with the service that I receive, its no longer worth it. 3 key things in running a restaurant for me Quality of the food Taste of the food AND CUSTOMER SERVICE

Went here for lunch with a coworker since its close to the office. We placed our orders and my friend got his food within 5 minutes. I waited. And waited. And waited. My friend ended up eating as his food was getting cold. People seated after us got and finished their lunch. And I was still waiting. After about 40 minutes we decided enough was enough, paid for his food, and left. Not only is the service awful to make you wait that long, but also to serve half the table 40 minutes ahead is poor form. Wont be coming back here.

This is a popular weekday lunch spot and gets really busy as soon as the clock strikes 12 during the week, but it is quiet on weekends and a great alternative to busy Sunnyvale options. They specialize in southern dishes and offer vegetarian and meat dishes but Ive only tried the veg side of the menu. My husband thinks their sambhar is the best weve had in the bay area, and their idli and dosa are also good. The mixed veg pakore are also excellent -- crispy, nicely seasoned, spicy and plentiful.

Pretty ordinary food with excessive oil and extreme spicy in most of the food items. The restaurant is crowded most of the times and many items on the menu are not available. I asked for south indian thali and then rudely said they stopped it from 1 week, why did you guys list it on menu ? The staff are not polite neither friendly. The restrooms are really pathetic. I would never visit this place again. I would rate this place -10

Good-We ordered Vijayawada chicken Biryani and chicken majestic. The Biryani was definitely a great break from the not-so-good biryanis that Ive eaten so far in US. Chicken majestic was ok. Bad- the ambience was horrible and I would always prefer to-go option from this place. Unfortunately they are closing down so had limited options on menu. Not sure if the shut down use temp or permanent so u might want to check that before u plan

Most Indian restaurants in and around have either a bad service or bad food or both. But here at, Bawarchi the food is very tasty and keeps me coming back for more. They have a wide variety of options. The great tasting food makes up for the slow service. Place is pretty cozy but is usually very packed during lunch time, so I recommend ordering ahead. Vijaywada Chicken biryani is my favorite.

Food is tasty It takes long time to serve Never use the online order since it takes 30 min to get the order to actual restaurant. I placed the order online and then called to the number I got in the receipt and they told me order ll be ready in 20 minutes. Then I came to pick the order after 30 min. But they told me they got the order 2 min back. So had to wait for another some time

Had been to lunch and ordered chicken meals. Worst restaurant in bay area. People please do not go here, they dont have any sense of quality or service. Food was as bad as it can be. The waiter who served us soup, had biryani all over his hand. Very unhygienic. It is absolutely okay if food is not tasty but no tolerance on quality or hygiene. Please dont visit this stupid place.

Good briyani but nasty customer service I m Here at 1:30 am and the employee told me it takes time for food at least 40 minutes they dont know how to treat to the customer I spend $50-60 a week they ll lost from me by now July 7 Friday...

Three of my friends went to Bawarchi on 01/15/2013 at 11.50AM and no one came to receive us. After that we called couple of time for taking the order and finally given the order at 12.10PM. Order contains two biriyanis of veg and chiken. We waited till 12.50PM and didnt received the order and finally came out. They didnt bother while we are coming out.

The biryani here is probably one of the best in the south bay. However, the service is pretty bad. We spent a lot of time waiting on our food during lunch and finally had to settle for something that we didnt order in the first place. We were also "forced" into choosing biryani for lunch even though they had other dishes on their menu.

So far I had a very good experience with the restaurant and I was visiting this place from last 3 years. Nowadays I see the service is completely poor and its getting worst day by day. Good thing is - I still like the food here. The review stars are very specifically for pathetic service.

I would give it -5 if I could. Worst service ever and they made us wait for 30 mins for a biryani that they said was available immediately. ... if you are hungry please dont even think of coming here... or order 1 hour ahead of time and probably it will be ready by the time you come

The food taste is not consistent. Some days its great and other days its just mediocre. The staff seems inexperienced and gets overwhelmed when the restaurant starts getting busy. However they are polite and helpful. Wish the place was better managed and served consistent food.

I am originally from Walnut Creek area and tried this place for the first time on my 4 days trip. I had chicken meal in my lunch and biryani was better than other items on the meal plate but overall in compare to other Indian restaurant I have been to this place is just so so.
