What can I say... a pleasant surprise! Im glad we found this gem in our neighbourhood. We did walk past it a few times and spotted the crowd on Wednesdays during Farmers Market, but never really took the time to go and visit. Wish we did before. Food was great! We ordered Hummus, Flat Bread, Patatas Bravas and Chocolate Lava Cake. All of them were delicious. Wine, recommended and picked by the staff, went great with food. And talking about staff... special thanks to Tiara, who took great care of us and made sure we were satisfied and happy during our visit. She did great and not to mention, it was her first day there! I saw people complaining about the waiting and yes, the kitchen obviously gets a bit overwhelmed at times, but since the staff is really nice and there is live music as well, you shouldnt have a problem with a bit of waiting.

My husband and I have been going to the Vine for several years and loved everything we have had there. Staff are friendly and attentive even on very busy Friday nights. The Vine was our little gem in San Leandro we bragged about to our friends. Well, I took a friend to dinner there recently, beginning of the year. Boy, was I surprised at the change. They changed the menu and have a new chef. I dont mind the new chef, but why throw away the old menu I thought was just wonderful. Every one I had brought there loved it and came back with other people. Not only was the menu changed , the portions were half of what I used to expect and prices were 50% more. This was like a 100% deficit for me. I tried so much to like some thing on the new menu that I ordered 5 entrees, none of which I liked enough to order again. Too bad.

Went here on a Thursday afternoon a little after 4pm. Ordered a pitcher of sangria and the meat and cheese board. Sangrias were very crisp, delicious and refreshing. 30+ mins later no meat and cheese board. Our empty plates came shortly after we placed our order. Id like to say this was due to a full house but aside from my gf, there were 10 other people. Not many considering half of the people already had food. Also, when we asked for our check the wait staff acted astonished when they never once came up to us to inform us what the situation was with the kitchen. Wont be coming back here again!

Had an order of the Cheese/Olive Plate (~$16): Humboldt fog goat cheese, brie, manchego cheese, Spanish chorizo, Surryano ham, Spanish olives, seasonal fruit, fresh honey comb, served with warm baguette bread (with enough separation to allow a vegetarian to avoid the meat). Also had an order of the Basil & Mozzarella Flatbread (~$9): roasted garlic olive oil, fresh heirloom tomatoes, fresh basil, & mozzarella cheese. Food was delicious, staff was on a first-name basis (having previously met my omnivorous dining partner), and the ambiance was relaxing.

Staff was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Although the prices were a little more than expected for the area, the entire experience was well worth the cost and visit. Each tapa we ordered was as good as the next. Very good wine selection. This was a very surprising treat to find...please support your local community businesses. Will definitely be going back!
