We are long time customers of Takaras restaurant, and we have eaten at most Japanese sushi restaurants on the peninsula, as well as, other cities in the United States and abroad. This restaurant is clean, has impeccable service, excellent food, and a wide variety of items for every palate. The owners are genuine, wonderful people who strive to give excellent service, food, and drinks. I would hope no one has a negative attitude toward this restaurant as they go out of their way for every table they have to make sure each customer is satisfied and will return. I was born and raised in PG and have been going to this restaurant for my entire life...and theyve been open for 27 yrs, and my wife and I keep choosing to support this Japanese restaurant because of the quality of food, service, and genuine thought put into each and every meal served. If you want to go to a restaurant for oversized/stuffed sushi rolls, then please do, but if you come to Takaras be prepared to enjoy traditional Japanese food(s), and exceptional service where you walk out feeling full and content.

the cost is high for the amount of sushi you get. poorly wrapped sushi and soggy. will never go again, worst japanese restaurant ever. ICHI RIKKI is a japanese restaurant in seaside is so far the best and owned by japanese people also.

Their rolls had way too much rice. And the rice was too watery. Spicy tuna lacked delicate spicy flavor. Too much of bad rice killed the rolls. Tempura was little to the burn side. Beef teriyaki was not bad. Service was good though.

Ive been eating sushi for 30 years and this my first post ever. The portions were so small and the highest bill Ive ever had eating sushi and the fish was very marginal. Service was good.

Really great little sushi shop with a nice atmosphere. The sushi was great, but just as a note they dont have soy wraps for the rolls and they go kinda heavy on wasabi in the nigiri.

Warm and hospital atmosphere. The sukiyaki and teriyaki dishes are wonderful and their tempura is delicate.
