If I could give it zero stars, I would. I have been to so many restaurants both good and bad - this is by far the WORSE in everything! Dont believe what you see in Bizarre Foods show, its all pretty much BS. I went there while driving with family from SC back home to NJ cause my wife and I saw it featured on BF. Big, Big mistake and we regretted it all around. The place is filthy, service is very poor and the food? Disgusting! We ordered the famed bubble pancake (or whatever crap they call it), although the cake was ok at best, the dipping sauce for it tasted like stale tap water (no exaggeration). We also tried the fried eggplant and seafood pan fried noodles - both below par. It was such a disappointment, I did not bother leaving a tip - was so disgusted with the food, service and the facility. To add to this misery, during the rest of the trip back to NJ, everyone in my family had diarrhea and throw up. I called the manager later during the day to complain about our experience. He just said he needed proof from a hospital we got sick!!! Had half the mind to bag these crap up and send it to him. Never, ever, ever again! BE ADVISED, Stay away from this place.

Run away to anywhere else! My family saw all the good reviews and ordered Peter Changs take away this evening for a quick meal. We got home and one of the containers with my "seafood in stone pot" had broken and was spilled everywhere. I cleaned it up thinking "it could happen" but then it got worse. The "seafood in stone pot" had baby bok choy, but it wasnt cleaned properly and there was still sand in it!!! For as much bok choy as they have on the menu they should know how to clean it but every piece I tasted had sand in it still. I decided not to eat the bok choy obviously and the next bite had a big bay leaf in it. My husbands dinner was also very bland with only a spicy flavor but no other levels of flavor. That being said, the sweet and sour pork that we got for our kids was actually very good. Overall it was a terrible experience and I did get some money back which was great considering the place is so expensive and I spent $82 on three meals and a terrible experience.

At first glance, I thought it was just a cheesy P.F. Changs copy in VA, but luckily my friend recognized the name and convinced us all that it was worth going to. Really glad we pulled the trigger and Ill certainly check out any of Peter Changs other establishments. The service and space are par for the course with good Chinese restaurants (dont expect much), but the food was excellent. I recommend ordering the Scallion Bubble Pancake, Pork Ribs and Wild Mushroom Soup, and the House Special Fish Fillet. The Scallion Bubble Pancake is a unique item Ive never had at any other restaurant - its a puffed up scallion pancake thats sweeter than your typical scallion pancake. The pork ribs soup was much more complex and flavorful than I was expecting from a staple Chinese broth, and you cant go wrong ordering anything with the numbing pepper which is why I love the House Special Fish Fillet.

Our server, Maria, needs to be retrained. SHE PUT HER FINGERS IN OUR FOOD!! First, when we sat down, she came by every 30 seconds to ask what we want to order. The menu is huge. I kept telling her we needed a few minutes. I definitely felt rushed. Second, we has a question about a menu item and she said she didnt know the answer but didnt even offer to find out for us. Third, when she brought our food, the spoon had fallen into the dish. She reached her fingers into the food to fish out the spoon right there at the table!!! GROSS! When we said something, she kept brushing it off like it was nothing saying it was fine. Fourth, we asked for a refill on our waters and she never came back to the table. I had to flag her down 20 minutes later to get our check. The management needs to have a serious talk with that waitress.

Dont judge a book by its cover! I was not expecting anything but maybe your generic asian buffet from the exterior appearance of this building but was completely wrong! My friend and I were seated quickly, received good customer service from our waiter and our food was out way before I expected. We ordered cilantro flounder fish rolls, golden mountain chicken and crispy pork belly. Everything was great! I ordered the golden mountain chicken extra extra spicy and it was perfect, anything less spicy I would have been disappointed like i am often when ordering extra spicy food and any more spicy it would have been a competition to endure, once again perfectly made to my order. Only complaint is the host on the evening of 7/18 is terrible @ his job, too busy talking to a friend or associate.

Wonderful food. The people that leave 1 and 2 star reviews claiming the service was horrible clearly havent been to an authentic Chinese restaurant before. The waiters and waitresses are from China, as Id hope they would be in such an establishment. The service was pretty decent, but they could work on their responsiveness to their customers. I have to say, if you like AUTHENTIC chinese food, its delicious, but if youre used to Panda Express or some Chinese take-out joint, you might not know what to get, as there isnt simple entrées such as Teriyaki Chicken or General Tsos. Overall pleasant experience, but their service isnt perfect, otherwise this would be a 5-star review.

Terrible service and pricey food. Came as a family of six (4 children) and brought to a small table for only 4. Waitress Sarah has a SAD face throughout as if we owe her money. No dinnerware for kids till we asked. Waited for a long time for rice after dishes were served. We lived in several states, the price is not the most expensive for a Szechuan restaurant, but the portion is definitely the smallest. Everything is a half size compared to an ordinary restaurant. I understand it is because of lack of competition, but not recommend if you come hungry. The only star is for the taste, though not 100% authentic, its still Szechuan food. Overall, not worth it at all.

Since moving here from the Boston area, we were really missing some of our hometown Asian restaurants ( Especially Kowloon in Saugus, MA & Tasty Garden in Everett, MA)! Wow, was the food at Peter Changs, Williamsburg great! Very fresh flavor. The meats and vegetables were cooked perfectly (not dry or soggy) and the dishes were beautifully seasoned to compliment the food rather than overpower it. This will be our new "go to" Chinese Food restaurant. I rated it 4 of 5 stars for decor. The venue was lacking in atmosphere, sparsely decorated, and.... I strongly dislike drop ceilings.

This is the only place in Williamsburg to get authentic Chinese food. One piece of advice: go for something unfamiliar! You can get General Tsos or sesame chicken anywhere, though everyone, especially kids, seems to like the version here. This place has dry-fried eggplant, bamboo fish, Szechuan duck & lamb dishes, even a spicy crayfish special right now. They have some familiar dishes like chicken & broccoli, lo mein, and fried rice for the less adventurous. For the sake of transparency, I work here! But think about it... How many employees speak well of their employers? :)
