My husband and I love Delhi Diner as a restaurant—top notch, fresh, and beautifully prepared Indian food, with great ambiance and service—but this review is about Delhi Diner as a caterer. And it is a glowing one. We got married about a week ago at Lawrence Hall of Science in Berkeley. We knew from the get-go that we wanted Indian food, and we searched high and low for a caterer that would be able to handle 200 guests, many of whom were Indian, since my husbands family is from India. Delhi Diner was by far the best and most authentic food we tried. We took many family members and friends there in the weeks leading up to the wedding, and they all loved it. But would Subhash and his team be able to scale up their excellent food for 200 people? Yikes! We didnt know. We were nervous! We neednt have been. The food arrived on our wedding day steaming hot, full of aromatic herbs and spices, fresh vegetables, and succulent meat. We ordered chicken tikka masala, roghan josh, chana masala, saag paneer, aloo ghobi, naan, papadam, rice pulao, and condiments. Our guests were wowed by the food—even all the Indians remarked at how good it was. A few guests even called it the best wedding food theyd ever had. Subhash was also a very attentive and careful vendor. He pledged to us several times during the process leading up to the wedding that hed help to ensure it was a night we wouldnt forget. He totally delivered, and we could not recommend both Delhi Diner the restaurant and its catering services more highly. Bravo, Subhash, and well see you again very soon. (And likely very soon after that...)

I just catered food from Delhi diner on Jan 9th and Jan 10th for our daughters wedding. We had Indian street food on 9th and dinner on 10th. The food was amazingly good and the service was impeccable. Subhash was their both days supervising the event. I was completely free to enjoy the festivities. He even catered to a special diet request that I made just a day before. Prior to wedding we had food testing 3 times and tried many dishes. We appreciated him taking such a personal care and interest in food as well as the importance of event. We were from out of town so we were little nervous but he put us at ease. I highly recommend him for catering your special event. Please try out his food at his restaurant you will enjoy the Indian food. This review sincerely comes from me, a chef in my own rights. I teach cooking classes and has published a cookbook.

Delhi Diner is one of the best authentic Indian restaurant. I managed to convert my husband to eat Indian food. His favorites are the Shrimp Biryani, Chicken Curry, and the sesame Nan. He always order sesame nan to go. I am on the other hand loves to be adventurous. I try new dish every time. My favorite is the pickles...the best! Come and bring family and friends. Lots of room, airy, and very friendly staff and owner, Sam. We try to come at least 1x a week. We are early diners so we come between 5 and 6. We get quality time with staff and Sam.

Stopped in on a weekday night at 9 expecting to get a quick cheap eat to go. I was a bit surprised when the Saag Paneer, side of rice and tea came to $21. Guy who took my order, who happened to be the owner himself, explained that food is made fresh w/o frozen ingredients. Have to say the quality of this food was excellent with great attention to detail. Still Im left feeling like I probably paid a little too much for a vegetarian meal.

I usually order from Delhi Diner thru uber eats and have it delivered to me in Berkeley. But I took my daughter with me to eat in the resteraunt instead of at home today and the ambiance was delightful! The food was superb as always and the service was fantastic !! My favorite Indian resteraunt near Berkeley and I have tried most of them!

We had goat, chicken saag, naan for takeout because we were in a rush. Wished we had eaten in because the atmosphere was fantastic! Service was excellent and that was only takeout! On the pricier side, but portions make up for it. We got two dishes and ended up having enough leftovers for two more meals. Will be back soon!

Best Indian in the east bay that Ive had so far. Ambiance and service were friendly and perfect. Try the chili naan if you like spicy (not on the menu), and dip it in tamarind sauce. Great wine list. And on top of all, prices are reasonable!

Delicious Indian fare. Quick, spicy, and friendly service. Be aware that they now add gratuity automatically to the check as a "service fee", which can throw you off if you dont know what it is (i seem to remember it being 15% on the check)

The best Indian restaurant Ive ever been to. Just traveled to India and the entire experience felt authentic. Great customer service, atomsephere, and (obviously) food. I would highly recommend this gem! Not to be missed.

Somewhat authentic food with small portions for the buffet-equivalent pricing of items. Somewhat tasty and the food is good but not great. Beware: 15% gratuity automatically billed.

Fast, friendly service with a family atmosphere. Delicious food spiced to your liking. With one bite, my wife and I instantly knew this would become a regular spot for us.

Seriously delicious! The best Indian food in the east bay by far. Chicken tiki Masala and chicken makhani are my go to.

Be warned: the salad situation is super confusing. Trust not the menu! Other stuff was tasty (and accurately labeled).

No buffet. Fish tikka was not great but chicken tikka masala was good. So were the naans. Nice ambience.
