Didnt like this place at all. The workers werent too friendly, and they got mine and my friends orders wrong. The only drink that worked was mountain dew every other drink only had water coming out. The food was disgusting, wasnt fresh,too greasy, cold, and the mac and cheese tasted like it came from the frozen section at the grocery store and than microwaved. All the decor looked like it was from the late 80s. It was really dirty inside as well. The only thing fresh in that place was the automatic paper towel dispenser! I WILL NOT BE GOING BACK! SEE YOU AT KFC!

Absolutely the worst customer service ever! Purchased coupon from DealSaver to save a whopping $2, only to be told that I personally had to redeem it. My husband visited the store told him he needed my Drivers License, he brought that back in, again told,.....so sorry. Called manager explained I was home with elderly ill mother, told once more, too bad, so sad. Oakdale store employees are great!!!McHenry management totally rude and uncaring. I will tell EVERYONE I know not to visit the McHenry store. They SUCK!!! Would like to give zero stars

This place used to be called "Foster Farms" back in the day, the food hasnt really changed just the name. We grew up in Modesto but live in So Cal now. We got to Chicken Barn when we come home for a visit. Their breast nuggets and potato wedges simply cant be beat. There is no other fried chicken place that is quite the same as this one. Their bbq sauce is unique as well. Other menu items are mediocre at best but the nuggets and the potato wedges... mmm mmm mmm

use to be awesome, now a letdown. just got home with my order and as usual lately, my 10 peice nugget has 8 peices that are borderline undercooked. Have never had a problem with service until now, the kids there had always been great. Today I called and the manager ansered and did not care and said not sure how it happend, have a nice day, goodbye. sad to see another modesto guaranteed good food be guaranteed bad food. past 3 trips there, not so good al.

I absolutely love chicken barns nuggets! I live in san jose. And when i go to modesto to drop off my daughter at her grandmas house. I have to, i repeat, have to stop at the chicken barn to get a bunch of their chicken nuggets. Ive never tried anything else on their menu. But im a big fan of their nuggets! And you have to have your nuggets with their valley sauce.

This place had been my favorite chicken spot since childhood. Something over the past year has changed and the food doesnt taste right, like the grease is old or something. Please do a quality check! Oakdale Road is on point and we are having to drive over there because of continued disappointment with this closer location. Thanks

Not the best place to find the best fried chicken in Modesto. I used the drive-through and the average wait time was sufficient. Customer service was decent. However, the food was awful. The chicken was not tasty, mostly dry. I would not want to order from here again. Check out KFC for the best fried chicken in town.

Oakdale Rd Store, Good chicken - depending on what you order. Grilled sandwich was very dry and day old tasting. They provide discounts to some people and not others which is weird to pay $1.00 more for the same thing the person in front of you ordered without a coupon. Makes you feel real special.

the manager was very rude they did not want to give me wat i ordered even though i had the recipe and called in they tried to call me a liar i thought the customer is allways wright i guess not here.. so make sure you get every thing you ordered or else you wont get a replacement order...

The chicken barn is an awesome place to eat a healthier cleaner chicken. All of their chicken nuggest are taken from white breast meat only. They dont actually deep fry their chicken its baked, and amazing. Its my favorite fast food joint in Modesto.

I will drive here from sacramento for fried chicken. My southern grown husband even agrees this is the best fried chicken he has ever had. Not sparkling clean, and I recommend double checking your order before leaving but worth it. So. Amazing.

I have yet to have a bad meal from The Chicken Barn. This place beats KFC out of the water and its a local business! The chicken is crunchy & moist, the spuds are wonderful and I found myself dipping everything in the valley sauce. Love it!

Went last night and I can honestly say I will never return. My sandwich and my wifes was cold. My spuds were cold soda was waaaay over carbonated. The service was okay the place was clean but the food was just nasty and old

I now live in marina. But I make sure I go through Modesto on my trip to hit chicken barn both ways. Love the chicken beast, nuggets, valley sauce and skinny spuds. I usually take some home for the freezer.
