UPDATE: ***** digs *** service *** food and coffee The cappuccino has not gotten any less bitter, and the laminated-dough pastries (croissants and the like) are not flaky. Still tempted to try some of the other items, though. Service was super-slow last time. I wish everything else were better, because the space and patio are fantastic. ----------- 4 stars each for coffee and food; 5 stars for service; 5 stars for the space. The old Los Altos train station is now a brighty, airy, modern café with public areas for socializing, quiet areas for working, and an enormous patio out front. I ordered a small cappuccino and a small puff pastry topped with berries: both were better than expected. The coffee was a tad bitter, requiring a bit more sugar than I usually need at someplace like Blue Bottle or Café Venetia, but that might improve; theyve only been open two weeks. Service was friendly. A big interior pane of glass lets you see the pastries being made. Cant wait to go back.

Pros: great pastry, nice ambience when not too crowded, a few of the prepared foods are very delicious, pretty good coffee depending on the barista (but always better a couple blocks away at redberry) Cons: still working out the kinks of service, eggs are almost unanimously undercooked the dozen or so times Ive been here (slightly runny whites) and expensive. I keep coming back for pastries which are always perfect. Also the occasional latte or eggs Benedict which range from amazing to so so depending on the day. Give this place a shot.

It will be my default lunch spot for after my weekend morning bike rides with friends until I get bored or find something better. The place has a nice outdoor seating area where we can keep a look at our bikes while having a healthy lunch. Apart from the bakery, they have a lunch menu with soups, salads, sandwiches and some entrees. I really wanted a lemonade, but they had it pre-made with tons of sugar in it, no fresh juices and all bottled (flavoured and sparkling) waters, so I felt like skipping those and just going with tap water.

Delicious pastries and lovely bakery and glass fronted kitchen space. Lots of light, plenty of seating and my goodness were the pastries scrumptious! Try the almond chocolate croissant, oh and the pistachio pain aux raisins! Our little one also loved the chapeau which is like brioche dough baked with dark chocolate and orange rind in a cute hat shape - very tasty. Did not try the hot beverages so cant speak to those. Docking one star for the immense and slow moving line - there must be a faster way to deal with that?

This place is excellent. Ive tried many things on their menu, including eggs Benedict, hash and eggs, quiche, hamburger and fries, French toast, many pastries and its all delicious. Seriously. Many people posting about the service and the ambience are completely incorrect. This is a very busy restaurant and only one time in more than 30 visits has my order been delayed or incorrect. I definitely recommend as a must-visit in Los Altos.

It was my first time at Voyageur, and I was politely greeted by a nice young man named max. After helping me with my order he also helped me figure out the strange ipad thing which didnt seem to read my fingers. The food was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS, I was amazed that they served food of such high quality at a cafe. Amazing food and even better service! I will definitely be back again, Thanks everyone at Voyaguer du Temps. Ariel.

Eggs Benedict14.00 English muffin, poached eggs, roasted house potato & bacon lardons The muffins were not toasted so it was a bit soggy. Sauce was okay, nothing spectacular. Potatoes and bacon were very good. Ambience: super cold and uncomfortable. Chairs are cheap. Service: no problems. They forgot my coffee but apologetic Second time I was here and second time I wasnt impressed.

Croissants seemed made with high-quality, hard wheat flour that gave them a bit of "chew". At the same time, there was enough butter to keep them tender and flaky. The very subtle salt/sugar balance was just right. Since theyre labor intensive to make, Id suggest that for the price of $4.25, they come a little bit bigger. I loved the clean, minimalist interior.

Their food and pastry are very good. Im usually not the one to complain about the price, but it really is over priced, I dont feel like the quality really makes up for the price. I paid over $11 for what seemed to be a cup of soup and very tiny salad (really small amount of just plain lettuce mix). Maybe I should stick to their pastries.

Great location, nicely decorated. Food is OK (my tea was cold this morning). Staff are aloof and not attentive. Our waiter sauntered around the restaurant adjusting his hair whilst tables (including ours) were dirty. I had to clean our own table before we were served. Food took 20 minutes to arrive - this was breakfast BTW!

Tasty drinks and food, okay pricing, but very inconsistent and sometimes just plain lousy service. Several times people have simply forgotten to bring me food or drink (so I had to flag them down) or brought me the wrong item, etc. Cheese bread is delicious, though ;). And the croissants are also very good!

One star for being a beautiful venue. One star for showcasing their bakers actually baking things. One star for appearing like a well put together establishment. Minus one star for having a mediocre selection of baked goods. Minus one star for having prices that do not match the quality of the food.

French onion soup was great, but sloppy serving marred the presentation. Coffee was good, but cappuccino was not foamed correctly, barista clearly untrained. Overall, the place charges a premium, has good food, but poor presentation and staff training makes it fall short of a premium cafe experience.

Food is good. Bakery is on full display. Great place for lunch, breakfast, or quick coffee and treat with a friend. Indoor and outdoor seating. Order at the register and find a table-someone will bring your order. Sometimes ordering line seems a lot slower than it should be. Otherwise great place.

Its pricey but the Crepes and the tea are absolutely fantastic. The smell of the cappuccinos will have you craving coffee even if youre not a coffee drinker. Wish they were a few more healthy options on the menu but we love this place so much I always know to bring something additional to eat.

I like the modern look inside and the garden look outside. Food and drink is severely overpriced, sales girls are frequently grumpy, sometimes clumsy. Starbucks has better coffee and bakery. I come to this place to impress my vain girlfriends, the garden outside makes very good impression.

This is a a beautiful cafe with delicious croissants: theyre simply the best Ive found in the U.S. and rival those Ive tried in France and Montréal. Ive enjoyed everything Ive tried so far on the menu -- when Im near Los Altos I always try to stop by Voyageur du Temps.

The good: beautiful building and terrace. Great and fast service. Not so good: overpriced. I had a Croque Monsieur, which was ridiculously small and almost cold. $5 for a Pain au Chocolat does not make sense. (As a side note, they have charging stations on the parking)

Food is amazing, really high quality and nice flavors. The cold brew coffee is really good too. The only issues are that its a little expensive, can easily spend $20+ for two for pastries and coffee. And the selection of hot foods isnt the best.
