The best bakery in the Bay Area with "Fresh Bread" all the time Pros: Excellent bread, better than the other bakeries like ShengKee and Sogo Bakery. Coming during the day, fresh bread comes out about every 5 to 10 minutes or so. Best bread have had in a long time. The taro bread is especially great. Easy parking. Great hours, on Friday and Saturday open to 12 am, otherwise 10 am. Great service. Great selection of cakes and drinks. Cons: It can get quite loud, due to the chairs and gathering area for crowds. The crowds have died down recently, but it used to be much too crowded to get bread. The bread is not sealed, just placed open air in a plastic pouch. It means quicker expiration dates. The breads can also be a bit expensive, so be careful of overbuying, hard to control with all the great selection. Tips: Come during the weekday if possible, the weekends tend to be crowded. 10% off on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. During the time between lunch and dinner, fresh bread comes out more often, late night tends to not have much fresh bread.

I used to go to this bakery whenever Im in SoCal, because I thought we dont have it here up north. Well imagine my surprise when I was just driving around near where I live and found out about this place. Apparently theyve been opened for 2 years now, and Ive been living in the area for 4. Seriously? Im still kicking myself for not finding about this place sooner. They serve varieties of bread and cakes, but most of them are sweet, so Im not a big fan. The big winner is their specialty drinks! They serve this salted ice coffee with some kind of sour/sweet whip cream. Its very popular in Asia, but its not that easy to find in US. Safe to say I quickly made a quick visit and grab a drink. Price is not exactly the cheapest but still fair. I will definitely be coming back!

I love this bakery. They have a wide variety but not comparable to the one in Irvine (Irvine has more offerings) but thats okay since Irvine is 6 hrs away for me. The layout of this one is better than one in Irvine, I find the one in Irvine more chaotic when checking out and waiting for drinks. When I come here, I always grab the hot dogs, choco chip bread, calamari bun, pineapple bread and the brioche. I One one makes brioche like this bakery. I have tried many brioches, even from France and I prefer the brioche from here...the rectangular one, not the big round one. Their desserts are also yummy as their drinks. If I lived closer I would be a fatty eating all these goodies.

Wow! A really fun, different bakery with a Chinese flair. Weve seen the crowds in front of this sparkling clean bakery / cafe and finally decided to plunge in. First, theres a "cafeteria style" bakery-style, self-serve. You go down a line, choose what you want, and then they pack it up for you. Second, theres a cafe that can beat the pants off of any Starbucks. And third, there is an amazing assortment of yummy yummy sweets and treats. Great place for a fun date stop, great place to buy pastries. Really unusual and a wonderful addition to the Fremont / Newark / Union City Tri-city area.

My favorites are the sea salt jasmine green tea, milk pudding bread, rose bread, mochi egg tart, and mini cheesecake. Ive been here plenty of times now that Ive gotten tired of the brioche and marble taro...theyre good but its too much bread and taro for me now that Ive had it so many times! Come here on the weekday if you can, when the line is short. Weekends get super crowded and theres usually a line out the door for the breads. Enter the store from the left door to order drinks and/or cakes. Enter from the right door to order the breads.

Fits a pattern Ive noticed around the bay area: not as great as the anticipatory or early hype around opening, but still great, especially now that things have calmed down. They open pretty early even on weekends, so use the Google maps feature to see when its busy. I wish they made hot sea salt coffee, but the taro buns are very good, and the egg tarts make a great treat to bring to the office instead of doughnuts.

Id stay away from this place. You want to double check what youre eating despite the fact theyre delicious. If youre okay eating bakery products filled with fruit fly eggs Id still go here. I was in disbelief when a Choco Bun we bought here had fruit fly inside the bun. Someone reported seeing fruit fly eggs on Dec 2015, and youd think this theyd take care of the problem. Seriously, FDA needs to get involved here.

The hype of 85C is finally here in NorCal. Im so glad that I can finally get my taro pastry fix! Also, the Sea Salt Coffee is really amazing! Its definitely strong and full of intense caffeination. 85C was actually the first place where Ive tried the milk foam drinks. I thought it was heavenly. Their baked goods are really good but yes, beware of the lines. This place can get pretty crowded, so be prepared!

Decent bakery for about $2-$3 each. Very fresh! Limited boba drinks, no taro! However they do have a few different taro pastries which other places dont. The desserts like any Asian place are more bland with less sugar added. This store is very clean and decent sized. The drink making used to be very slow but it seems to have gotten better. I will come back for pastries.

The breads and pastries here are delish. There are sweet and savory options. Originally Taiwanese, they add their touch of Asian inspired influence in their dough that has a slightly doughier texture. Their filings are not too sweet. They have an incredible variety to choose from and offer specialty cakes and drinks like boba teas and coffees as well.

I cant say enough about this place. Everything they make makes your mouth water. It starts with the bread, which is soft and buttery and incredible. Then they add all manner of fillings, from ham and cheese to mango and blueberry. They even have amazing cookies. It doesnt matter what you get here, you WILL crave more.

This place is bad if your on a no-carb diet. they serve nothing but glorious asian style buns, croissant things, rolls, egg tarts etc.. They aldo serve those drinks with the balls in em and a decent cup of coffee. I aldos come in for a bun and end up with a dozen. But my inner fat kid is happy and thats priceless!

More often than not they will be out of most items. Selection is lacking compared to other bakeries and other 85C bakery stores. Crowds can be a bit of turn-off. Recommend: The rose cheese, taro bun, or brioche washed down with a sea salt coffee. I do not recommend their Black Forest cake.

Im an early bird and though they open 7a they really dont fill the display with bread until 8:30. They seem to bring out things that are not as popular. Perhaps they were from the day before. The quality seem to also have diminished yet the $ has gone up. This used to be my favorite place.

Discovered 85 this year & I think Ill blame you for my holiday gains. I loveeee this place. Speedy service and always the freshest baked goods. I love the Blueberry cheesecake, the chocolate chip bread & the cookies and creme slush. Why do you have to be so close to home? Omw
