I love Slapfish. I dont love the fact that its really far from my house, but the food is great and the deals during "Slappy Hour" are amazing. I came with my friend awhile back for dinner, and we both realized that the majority of food we wanted to try was on their "Slappy Hour" menu, which was only 20 minutes away. So we walked around and came back in time for their Happy Hour, which was a really great decision if I can say so myself. The setup of Slapfish is very similar to Corner Bakery. You order right when you enter the restaurant, receive a number, and wait for the food to be brought to the table of your choosing. Theres drinks lining the wall, and LOTS of different sauces, malts, and spices to choose from to add to your food. Lobster Dip and Chips: The dip came in a decently-sized plastic cup with plenty of chips on the side. There were chunks of lobster in the dip, and I could really taste the lobster. I think the flavor could have been a little stronger, but overall, I thought this was a good appetizer. Chowder Fries: Think French fries drenched in clam chowder with lots of bacon piled on top. It was really good, but also really unhealthy! There was a perfect amount of chowder on the fries (keeping it tasty without getting soggy). Cup of Chowder: Really different from the Souplantations Clam Chowder! A lot more authentic and flavorful. There was also a ton of bacon piled on top of the chowder, which is nice if youre a fan of bacon (and Im not). But still, good flavor and lots of clams inside the soup. The chowder had a good consistency and wasnt too thick or runny. Jumbo Fish Taco: This was my favorite! Really tasty, and the fish on the taco was lightly friend to perfection. It came with lots of lettuce, but nothing overpowered the taste of the fish, which was the star of the whole taco. Fish was fresh, crispy, and ... I can still imagine the crunch of the fish as I bit into it! It was that good. tl;dr - The staff is really helpful in making sure you have a great experience. Food was amazing.Definitely recommend coming during Slappy Hour (8 PM - closing time I believe) to save a few bucks and order a few more things to try! Plenty of seats inside the restaurant as well as outside. Place can get packed, but people seem to eat quickly and leave, so finding a table shouldnt be too big of a struggle. I highly recommend the Jumbo fish taco, which was something I really enjoyed eating! Will be back one day ... hopefully sooner than later!

Currently there is a lot of construction going on here but the restaurant is still open! The staff were very friendly and informative of all our questions about the menu and gave great suggestions. We had the Clobster Grilled Cheese (about $15) - Oh my goodness the combination was beautiful and flavorful. I really recommend getting this sandwich. The cheese was nicely melted and dripped nicely and messily as I bit into the sandwich. Also had the Lobster Roll (about $20) - The lobster pieces are plentiful and very savory. It wasnt salty like the ocean and had very nice cajun seasoning. The bread is warm, buttery, and soft. Cut it in half, sprinkle on some hot sauce and pop it into your mouth for a taste of heaven. The food is very... "soul". Its heavy and really filling. Personally Im not that big a fan of heavy feeling food so I dont think Ill be back, but my one time experience here was great. It is definitely worth trying once!

What did the fish say when he posted bail? "Im off the hook!" Slapfish is off the freakin hook! I was in love with this place just by looking at photos online, and photos dont lie, theyre under oath. Whoever invented these mythical sea sandwiches deserves to get a hug from me. Truly unheard of combinations of delicious ingredients really make these menu items that of only myths. Mythical Sea Food All I could imagine on my drive down from LA were the immense sizes of the lobster roll and lobster mac and cheese with that amazing side of bacon chowder fries. The creamy slaw like cheese oozing out of the side and down the side of your mouth like that hot chick on the Carls Jr commercials...no napkins needed. If it doesnt get all over the place, it doesnt belong in your face. These beastly sea combinations dont shy of massive chunks of lobster, in fact they come on real strong like a high school jock at a house party. Beware...

AWESOME.. If by slap you mean high 5 then yes, definitely slap it silly.. We were told about the lobster rolls in this place and it lived up to expectations and then some. It would be a little offensive calling this a fast food joint, its definitely above that, even if it looks like one. They location is quite random, in a strip mall, but it had an OK outdoor seating area where we enjoyed the sunshine, and avoided the smell of cooking indoors. Anyway all that is small fry, what you NEED to know is GET the lobster roll with AWESOME sauce, and if ur not into sea food, get the burger with awesome sauce (just get the lobster bits on the side for your friends). We had the peach lemonade which we liked. Gourmet food for un-gourmet prices, AWESOME!

Definitely worth the hype. I came around dinner time and there was minimal wait for a fast casual restaurant. Everything looked clean and oriented. I had the Lobster Roll and my boyfriend had the Clobster grilled cheese. With the yelp check in I also had a sample size of the chowder toast. The Lobster roll had generous portions of actual pieces of lobster, so that made me happy. It came with the fries on the side and half a tiny piece of pickle. I wish the fries were a bit more seasoned, but the sauce it came with was good. The Clobster grilled cheese was fresh and hot. Very heavy and very filling. I would definitely come back more often. However, market price lobster is pretty pricey.

Having personally recommended SLAPFISH to a number of people over the years through word-of-mouth and taking friends who visit from out-of-town, Im truly disappointed with our last visit. The portion sizes are a lot smaller, the french fries were overcooked (dry and hard), and the cole slaw was about 20% of previous portions. If you can imagine, the cole slaw came in a cup that is used for ketchup at In-N-Out! Truly, understanding that cost and portion control is very important to maintaining a viable business, understanding the dynamic of changing from waiters to place-your-own-order, Im sure costs have been reduced. But at what cost?

We came here for lunch on a Saturday. I ordered the Clobster grilled cheese and the BF ordered the Clobster roll. I enjoyed my meal very much and was quite full after. The BF loved his, but a few hours after we had to stop by In-n-out because the roll is deceptively small. They pile on the goodies on top but leave very little in the actual roll. They have a craft soda fountain but give no information on who makes it which would have been nice to know especially if it was local. There is plenty of seating but only one toilet so there is usually a line waiting to use it.

Really disappointed with the way this business is ran. Me & my fiancé just came from Venice to celebrate Fathers Day just to be told that we couldnt participate in their special because our son isnt with us.. now we were just here last month for Mothers Day *without* our son & we had no problem. Also I called before we dropped our son off at my moms & there was no mention of a rule saying we had to bring him. Memo!: Not everyone celebrates this day with their kids. Smh. Wont be returning. If I could give them zero stars I would. They totally ruined our day.
