Enter Bluewater Grill, which at the time we were driving through during evening hours, caught our attention with their barely discernible sign, which kind of shines a light blue glow but not much of an attention grabber. Curiosity being one of our most strong characteristic when it comes to new places in Temecula. These are the selection in order of arrival: Bread (on the house, apparently), came steaming hot, a sourdough with a very enticing crust, and real butter. Needless to say, it was gone before the water we asked for arrived. Way better than just any other place we tried, which showed this place attention to detail and quality was already in motion. 5 Stars. Water: surprisingly so, this water (I asked) is filtered water, and frankly tasted divine, who said that water can not be the drink of choice, so refreshing and pure! 5 Stars. Calamari Fritti with Peppers, $11+. One thing about fried Calamari is that it is very difficult to find a place that first, knows how to do them right, and second, that they are tender enough to make this great appetizer doubly delicious. What arrived to the table was a long and narrow kind of dish, with a generous amount of a very acceptable Calamari Fritti, with two sauces: one red and very sweet, kind of asian descent, and the other their version of tartas sauce, by far the one everyone enjoy to the point of no return, leaving the sweet one for sweeter palates that were not present, but was tried and it was also tasty for those who like their sauces that sweet. Additional lemons were brought upon request to spray liberally in the Calamari, will definitely have this dish again for the last I had a decent Calamari was years ago. 4.5 Stars. New England Clam Chowder, Cup $5.99, Bowl $7.99?, may be a little wrong. The sized were distinctively so, but not by much. The Clam Chowder was devoured faster than we could say Ships Ahoy! Obviously a true and tried recipe. 4.5 Stars. Linguine with Prawns, $18 a plate? Al dente linguini pasta, tossed with basil, tomato, and I am sure more ingredients but not overpowering, and 8 plum Prawns that were highly praised by both eater, two loving ladies, my dinner companions. 4.5 Stars. Cioppino, $27+? This dish is a little tricky, for everyone can call it Cioppino, but the masters creators of this dish come from Italy, of course not suggesting that only Italian hands can serve a delicious Cioppino, what I am trying to convey is that a good Cioppino is rare, and this one did not disappoint, but at the price range, did not seem spectacularly good. Brought its fair share of Clams on their shell, I think I saw a miniature Mussel or two, a couple of very tasty medium size scallops, and 3 miniature Crab claws, which failed to impress overall. The taste of the broth was on the money, but too many diced peppers adorned the dish, but what can I say? It was eating to completion, for I am not in the habit of throwing money around. 4 Stars. Key Lime Pie, $8? a slice. Better than most, truly on the expensive side, but, hey, what can three diners do after such a nice meal, but to end the night with dessert. Still it was easy to eat, very citrusy and sweet, no wonder I felt like slumber had come to visit at the end of a very gratifying meal. Service was average at best, and the few times we saw our main waiter, he was a very nice man, with a eager disposition to please, if the repetition of the delicious bread was any indication. He even wanted to bring a third one, but by then common sense had replaced the greedy desire to eat all that delicious bread in the place. 3.5 Stars. The total, with about 18% gratuity, came to be close to $125, which is not cheap by any stretch of the imagination. To be fair this place makes the Red Lobster looked like childs play, and with their fresh fish arriving daily, but expensive as well, this is a gem in Temecula, well worth it if one craves above average dining. It certainly adds prestige to the seafood cuisine in Temecula. Hear they have a few other locations, busy from the moment we arrived around 7PM, till we left. 4.5 Stars.

So what can I say about this place? Other than WOW just bloody awesome. We (the small family) went to the San Diego zoo and heading back to Vegas we figured why not reach out online to see what fellow reviewers recommend off the 15 Interstate for great seafood. This came up, so we made the detour. The restaurant is located in a small shopping center in Temecula CA and we were immediately seated having arrived at about 3:45 give or take. We were taken to our tables after been asked if we wanted a table or booth. Friendly staff and wait staff. Our first Server "Jen" came to introduce herself and take our orders and was full of great advice and very knowledgeable about the menu and drink selections. I ordered a Reisling with my food choices with the help of Jen as did my wife and kid for their food choices. Jen connected with my kid was personable and even shared a little about her own 2 kids. Wife ordered the Lobster Roll Kid got the Kids shrimp Dipper I got two dishes :) the Shrimp Tacos and the fish and veggie skewers all great suggestions by Jen. Sadly Jen had to leave because she was an early shift and we came in at the end of her rotation, but she came by with her replacement "Katie" another wonderful server and assured us Katie will take care of us and Katie did and assumed Jens role. We absolutely enjoyed our meal here, we even talked about how we would come to the San Diego area again just for their food and service. All the fish in my skewers were fresh, seasoning was not overwhelming and delicious, my kids shrimp meal, my Wifes Lobster Roll the fries my God all sooo bloody good. The presentation was that of 5 star restaurant you will find in Vegas or Paris. We cannot express how awesome this place was. Take my word for it go there. Take a detour if you are passing by it is awesome. We had Staff members stopping by, checking up on us just as Jen and Katie did. We truly felt as customers we were welcomed and treated as gold. On top of that and let me say it again the food is wicked awesome good.

Yes, there is more to Temecula than just Pechanga. Thank you the Blue Water Grill for spoiling us! Imagine getting to try multiple seafood items in a white table cloth outdoor setting while every item including dessert is paired with a local Wine. I was not are not dreaming. Dont be jelly! With every dish I told myself that I couldnt eat another bite or drink another sip of wine but I made it happen. Go big or go home. I enjoyed the ceviche and yam chips but the scallops were the highlight of the night. I am pretty sure per ounce scallops are more expensive than lobster but that is not the only reason I enjoy this delicacy. A scallop is like a clam and butter went to Vegas had a few drinks and the clam was shy so she brought her friend the white fish. After an Elvis wedding scallops were born. Thats not where scallops come from but I still think the flavor story makes sense. I cannot decide which was better the wine or the food. Im not a big wine drinker but I am learning thanks to wine vendor. The seafood was delicious and swordfish was something new to me. It was hard to be blown away considering I just had a nice brunch at Nobu in Malibu a few days before. I truly enjoyed Blue Water Grill but next time I should not eat seafood most of the week before.
