Menu reads interesting and creative but the execution falls flat. Service is attentive and friendly albeit a bit artificial. The food is overpriced. Ingredients are not as high quality as you would hope. The food comes out very quickly but the taste is uninspired. The pizza crust seems like it was premade and the toppings just put on and quickly heated up. No free refill for a $3.75 soft drink is just inappropriate and they added the tip to the bill for a party of two. That just doesnt leave me with a reason to come back.

Tucked away in the quaint community of Carmel-by-the-Sea, Nicos Restaurant provides it guests the sophisticated comfort of European dining in a warmly lit dining room around a beautiful stone fireplace. It is my favorite place to go each week for a welcoming escape, they treat you with the upmost kindness... Made from scratch, all their dishes, salads, soups, and desserts soothe your palate with the flavors of their wonderfully fresh ingredients. Be sure to say hello to them for me, the Chocolate Lady ;-)

My aunt was visiting from New York so I took her down to Pismo Beach and drove up Hwy 1 to Carmel, Ca. We went to the first Italian Restaurant we saw. We just wanted to eat after driving all day. Even though we just ate our entree and had water with our meal. I never felt an inch of discrimination because of our race or because our bill was under $50. They staff was gracious and the food was exquisite. I would go there again and I have recommended the restaurant to friends.

Food was excellent. Horrible horrible service. Asked to split check using cash and credit cards among several people but waiter did not have the patience to go through with the process. He then wrongfully charged one of us by an absurd amount leading to confusion and frustration of my peers. His general attitude, including service and water serving was rough and frankly uncouth. We also found the beef shoulder to be overly greasy and tuff.

Very good italian food, they use the original italian ingredients: Nicos so friendly, nice experience in Carmel. Quite expensive but the city seems to be not so cheap at all. There on Oct 4th this year ------ Ci siamo stati il 4 ottobre: gnocchi al gorgonzola veramente buoni, panna cotta a livelli italiani. Caro ma in linea con la media cittadina, Nico è una persona simpatica e cordiale.

We stopped by because we were starving, not expecting much. Little did we know we were in for a treat. Everything that was prepared seemed so fresh, and was simply delicious. Dessert was great too. Service was excellent for a tourist town. My 1 year old was with us and they dont have a kids menu, but the chef prepared a small pasta dish for her anyway. Awesome experience overall.

Social networks in action! I went to this restaurant because Vic Gundotra had given it such a strong rating (and we were hungry in Carmel and needed something quick). He wasnt kidding! The crab ravioli was absolutely delicious! Amongst the best pasta Ive ever had. Champagne sauce was sweet and creamy, but not too rich. Strongly recommended.

64$ por una base de minipizza congelada con trocitos de tomate, un plato de carbonara muy salado y con trozos de tocino duro y un mini plato de raviolis. Una estafa!

Food was very good but the service needs significant improvement. Our dining experience took 2 hours for only drinks and main course. They seemed to be overly attentive to one larger party and basically ignored other parties. They were obviously short staffed. Weve not had this frustrating of a dining experience in years.

This place is semi-fancy and quite pricey. I ordered the crab ravioli (20 dollars) which probably came with a total of around 15 pieces. Despite the small portions, the ravioli was delicious - especially the sauce. Couldnt really taste the crab but definitely one of the best pasta dishes Ive had.

Awesome Italian Cuisine at a very reasonable price. Nico is great anytime of the week for lunch or dinner you cant go wrong. Check out their diverse menu and pick something sweet to end your meal. The menu is very diverse for everymember of your family and friends !

Overpriced average food and mediocre service. The $16 sausage pizza was flavorless looked like it came out of a microwave. The $18 bolognese tagliatelle was clearly store bought past and the "secret" sauce required lots of salt and pepper to make it palatable.

Great service -- our waiter was Italian and very sweet, and the ambiance outside was great. The food, however, was terrible. Calamari was cold and rubbery, pasta was overcooked. My wifes crab ravioli were so sweet that saccharine accurately describes them.

The staff was super friendly but the food is overpriced. We decided on a Flatbread pizza, which was way different than fast food pizza most of us are used to but still delicious. The inside is very athletically pleasing as well.

Appealing restaurant which provides proper european food. The selection of dishes is a bit short but with great variety. The service is very friendly and they put a lot of effort in what they do. Had a very good experience.

Great food and exquisite service. Will go there again next time Im in town. Note that the pizzas are not Napoli style but flatbread. They are great but dont go here if you want Napoli, thin crust pizza.

The owners are Greek & Italian, so there are choices from both cuisine. Pastas and the fish was really good. May be they can offer more attractions from the Greek cuisine

Delightful. I had the raveoli and it was exactly what I was hoping for. Service was first class and the owner was so welcoming. Have posted it to my "must go back" list.

Came here for appetizers. The staff was friendly and the food that we had (arugla pear and blue cheese salad and whole garlic with bread and tomatoes) was delicious.

We had an amazing crab ravioli dish that was topped with scallops. Fantastic, attentive service. Great ambience. We had dinner near the fireplace. Highly recommend!

Best meal Ive ever had in Carmel. The blue crab ravioli was amazingly great. Paired with the Greek white wine suggested by the server only made it better.
