For about maybe 30 years of being a school bus driver for M.P.U.S.D I had the pleasure of participating in the Big Sur International marathon. Also my father Cecil Brown volunteered as well. may he rest in peace. When I was a bus driver, we would have breakfast at this restaurant. I am retired now but I will never forget the hospitality of this establishment to us every year. my specialty would be theyre chicken fried steak with sausage gravy. My former fellow bus drivers will be there Sunday morning 4-24-16 as usual every year in the morning. We would all Gather in one bus and travel down the road not too far to enjoy a good hot breakfast. I will not forget their Hospitality to us. And I will pass the word that even though i may not be there participating driving for the marathon, I will miss theye chicken fried steak with sausage gravy. Being a foodie myself, if anybody reads this try their chicken fried steak. you can have it with eggs pancakes or whatever it is worth it.

You have to pay cash and they dont warn you ahead of time so I had to use their little ATM to get cash to pay them and it doesnt give you cash it just prints out a receipt that you paid and charges you an extra $2 so I was not very happy about that the food is good but it gets very irritating about the cash thing and the fact that they dont have any signs or warn you ahead of time so I will not be back I was very disappointed and having to pay extra their omelet was already kind of on the expensive side compared to the rest of their menu. And the service is sometimes not so great they cater to locals and if they dont know youre a local which I am they dont cater to you very well. They didnt know that I was a local.

I would rate it with 0 stars if that was possible. Food was mediocre. Outstanding was the way the lady working there treated us: in 6 months living in California I have not encountered a person as unfriendly and rude as her! She was nice to the locals, so might also be racism. Do NOT go there!

We get up here once a year. The Wagon Wheel is a "must do" every time. As mentioned in previous reviews, great food and great people. Try the Oatmeal Pancake.
