My wife, son and I went to Antons this past Saturday night, August 1, 2015. It is a beautiful setting and the martinis and initial service were excellent. However, the food was terrible and the service went downhill quickly. I ordered the duck breast and is was severely undercooked, lets say raw and I had one bite and set it aside. My son had the filet mignon and I suspect the animal that provided that had to be carried to the slaughter house as it was too frail to make it on his own. Additionally, it was overcooked. Heres the kicker: Once the meal was served the waiter never approached our table to ask about our meal. When the busboy came to clear our table, I told him that my son and I did not eat our meal because it was horrible. He said he would tell the chef and that was that. Never saw or heard from him again. When we headed out I told the hostess of our total dissatisfaction and she said next time we should tell her. I told her there would not be a next time. Including our tip the cost of this horrible and disappointing experience was $250.00. We have eaten in fine restaurants around the world and Anton and Michels ranks clearly at the bottom. Fearing this review wont be seen by many, Im doing my best to pass the word to my friends and my news letter recipients.

From the moment we walked in, we were treated as family. Kind, knowledgeable, willing staff who were on point at every course. From the Caesar salad prepared tableside to the main course presentation and flavor...made for an unbelievable meal and experience. Bananas foster finished off the night. Very impressive wine menu which spans multiple pages even though I was elated with my Joullian Chardonnay. Note on the meal: many restaurants overly season their plates, where as Anton & Michels chefs seemed to let the food and vegetable flavors speak for themselves. Made me realize how fresh and flavorful the food was. Salmon was sizzling as it was tabled. Outstanding.

Very nice environment, lovely service and funny woman restroom. It was my birthday and we couldnt find any bakery to buy cake nearby the restaurant and they dont carry cake on the desert menu. Make sure to plan in advance for your birthday. Ravioli was good but the other appetizer was combination of cheese, jam and bread taste, You could taste salt and sweet at the same time which I DID NOT like it. The steak was good too. I am steak easter and give 7-8 out of 10 to their steak.

2 stars may be generous... But will give one for the nice view of the fountain out back. And our server did his best... But, possibly the worst old fashioned Ive ever had (and a watery dirty martini), and quite below average food for a hefty price. Applebees quality salad with heavy handed entrees that were also somewhat flavorless. Youd be better off wandering into any restaurant in Carmel haphazardly and will be bound to do better. Too bad because we wanted to like it.

My girlfriend and I went to Anton & Michel for New Years Eve dinner. After it took 15 minutes for the waiter to take our drink order and 30 minutes to bring us our wine and water, I was hoping the food would balance out the poor beginning. The salads were incredibly bland, and the food was definitely not worth the $100 each of us ended spending on food that equivalent to the grade of food served at chain restaurants like PF Changs or Olive Garden.

Food is great. Ate at the bar which we prefer. Wanted more positive conversation with servers, but not there. No effort by staff to engage in chat. When we tried to ask questions, got hard to understand answers. Would label it unfriendly. Same as last time we were there. Too bad.

The service and food were excellent. We were greeted with a warm welcome and special recognition of our 10-year anniversary. The atmosphere was very quiet and overlooks a nice little fountain courtyard. I would highly recommend this establishment for special occasions.

It was a disappointing dining experience: reheated spinach and subpar filet mignon (I ended up sick). Mind you, I also eat In-n-out, but a top restaurant should surprise me with fresh flavors. How can I trust the ratings for other restaurants?

Had lunch here on our way to Pebble Beach. Beautifully decorated, friendly staff, exceptional service and great food. The best cream of mushroom soup ever. Cant say enough good things about Anton & Michels! So worth trying when in town.

The table we sat at had no ambience. The lamb was rare (not what we ordered). The paella was gummy, and the cheese on the onion soup was flavorless. For a meal costing $400, I expected better.

I had the salmon entrée. It was tasty. Nice presto and tomato sauce on the top it the salmon. Not smothering it. Pricing was in the same range of other restaurants in Carmel by the sea. 27$.

Well priced for the area, typical difficulty in parking in Carmel by the sea. Service was quick and friendly, food was very good though a touch salty for my tastes. Still, an excellent spot.
