Icelander Jon Magnusson and his Brazilian wife Carmen are gracious hosts in their little bistro in the Crossroads shopping area just off Hwy 1 in Carmel. We have been having lunch there for years, but only recently went there for dinner, and were very pleasantly surprised. I have eaten in restaurants around the world, and can say that the dishes we had were world-class. The menu is not long, but what they do they do very well, and obviously take pride in their creations. I can particularly recommend the mushroom cappuccino and the smoked salmon quesadilla (Jon smokes his own salmon). But for the less adventurous they also have hamburgers, steaks, etc. They also are kid-friendly, with a kids menu and crayons for the artists in the family to draw on the table covers. Great place!

WORST place to dine in Carmel. It looked nice in there but the food was never delivered. When we got there, only one table was occupied so it wasnt busy. But it still took them 50 min...after which we gave up on waiting and walked away. The management didnt even apologize for the delay. They definitely were not under-staffed so I am not sure why it took so long for them to cook eggs. While we waited, they offered a glass of water, which was never refilled and servers had too much attitude. Over priced food cannot be justified with the fact that its located in Carmel. There are many other places you can visit in Carmel. Just stay away from this one.

Went to lunch today ordering the lentil soup. It was carrots, celery and bacon with a trace of lentils. The order took a long time, dining partner had BLT and soup. When I sent the soup back (it was not a traditional lentil soup but a bacon veg.) the wait for 1/2 sandwich was also long. I was over-charged but did not have time to discuss the check. The server was not very attentive. Not likely I would recommend this for lunch

Located in a shopping center, I initially thought it was a burger joint with a bistro twist. Was I surprised. We walked in between the lunch and dinner service. Our dinner order was cooked to perfection. The wait staff were courteous. The wine selection is not vast; who ever selects the inventory does very well. With all said we would return again and I will recommend 211 Bistro to all my friends.

Nice cozy little restaurant, food was good. Neither my business associate nor myself liked the water at all, they added mint leaves to the water and it didnt taste good. At the time we were the only two people in the restaurant around 4pm on a weekday and it took forever to have our food ready. Food was decent, but not worth what it costs.

This is NOT a place for brunch. This is NOT bottomless mimosas as advertised. Do not be fooled, recommend anywhere else! Rather expensive and they auto charge 25% for slow but polite service. Dont spend your money here!

Beautiful quaint restaurant with French inspired decor. Exemplary service, the perfect blend of classiness and homeliness. The food itself was delicious. Try the deserts, they are amazing. We will be coming back.

Very good food and service. Sat on the patio which was convenient with our dog, but the chairs werent very comfortable. Excellent overall, especially for the price. $33 for lunch for two in Carmel.

Really laid back restaurant with solid food. Bread is served super hot and the food was really good. The owner works very hard and the food came out promptly. Would definitely come back!
