Ive had the good fortune to dine all over the world, including many Michelin starred restaurants. Last night I craved entertainment and Carbonara. Who knew the restaurant I have passed 100s of times in my Carmel neighborhood had both in spades to offer. Something whispered to me "enter" as i almost routinely ignored it. So glad I listened to my gut. WOW. For starters, there was world class piano bar and guest appearances. Then, the Carbonara- molto bene! The best!! Then the singing- marvelous! You must try....maybe you will be lucky but for certain the Carbonara will please you.

Be careful: 1 Softdrink costs $5 (no written prices of non-alcoholic beverages) + NO FREE REFILL (and no indication about that even when ordering) + tax EXcluded (which is quite normal in the US - but just as info for tourists) + AUTOMATIC service charge of 15% (again no indication and leaving you no choice at all) + CREDIT CARD FRAUD by secretly adding ADDITIONAL 15% tip AFTER signing the bill!!! The food was ok, but nothing special (we had Pasta Carbonara and Fish of the Day). I would give it a 3* without the surprising bill (honestly).

Weve been here a couple of times - each time for a late lunch. It has always been a really great dining experience. The food is always fresh, and the menu is modern but still caters to a transient crowd. It could perhaps change up a little more regularly (or perhaps we happened in on days with very similar menus). The service is always impeccable, taking care of every need. We actually enjoy selecting 4-6 starters and picking over them between the two of us, tapas style. We look forward to visiting again one day for dinner.

We loved this place and the fact that it uses organic and farm-to-table ingredients. Lovely laid back atmosphere with an excellent live pianist and very reasonable prices. The only problem was the guy behind the bar from Otter Cove winery who was more interested in trying to impress a nearby girl than serving customers and discussing his wine. Its a shame because every other member of staff was super friendly but this guy seemed to have an attitude.

The wife and I visited for our anniversary. The service was legendary. We had great conversation with the bartender as we waited for our table. When we were seated our server was excellent. The live piano player/singer added an extra layer to the ambiance. All the food was prepared to perfection. We had a great visit and cannot wait to retur on our next visit to Carmel.

Great place. Had lunch here on a holiday weekend. Super busy with a packed house. Only ONE waiter for the entire place. Not his fault. Chef was cleaning tables and serving people as well. The chef, waiter and host were trying their best. The Owner is the one who doesnt recognize how to properly staff his business. Cutting overhead is fine but on a holiday weekend?

This place is downright legit. Really, REALLY tasty, simple good with unique and new flavors mixed in. The chef/owner is genuinely nice and excited to be serving you, and helps serve and clean a well as cook and direct. All around a very enjoyable experience. We will definitely return.

Cozy location and great food! The menu does change regularly, so plan to wait to scope out the menu live. They often have a pianist which makes for a great environment for small groups. Given the size, just need to time your dinner well as the wait can stack up.

Fabulous everything. Attentive and courteous staff, lovely contemporary-yet-comfortable decor, gorgeous tomato bisque and a simple, perfect sourdough goat cheese grilled cheese sandwich that I ate up before I could snap a photo. Well-priced to boot!

While the $15 burger looks good, it was raw inside (ordered Medium). Sent back for extra cooking, came back Med rare with charcoal taste. Its hard to mess up a burger, which they sure did.
