Amazing atmosphere, service and food. My mom is pre- diabetic and was already shaking by the time we got there and they sat us really fast and brought her some edemame to snack on. Our waiter Randy was so sweet and understanding. He gave us some great recommendations for rolls, the Magic Dragon is a must try, and had great service. Unfortunately we found some bones in the eel but it place was so busy its easy to see how it was missed. Once we told out sever he quickly apologised and took it off our bill. All in all a five star resturant! If you have time and are in the area I say go try this place !

Very fresh sushi -- amazing and very creative assortment of rolls; by far some of the best vegetarian rolls Ive had. The fish and rice at lunch was a little too cold -- while I want to be sure that sushi is safe, the chill of the fish moved my score from "excellent" to "very good" since Im used to closer-to-room-temp sushi (where the flavors really excel). I suspect by dinnertime, things are better. Ill go back for sure.

I was charged for 2 items I didnt order. When I talked to the manager/owner, she said she would have to investigate it and never called back. I hope they are happy about the $30.00 they stole from me. We will never go there again, and if you decide to take your chances there GO OVER YOUR BILL WITH A FINE TOOTH COMB! But dont expect them to take responsibility for this unbelievably dishonest practice.

Dont order food over the phone. They put you on hold and never I pick up again. Its not that they are super busy, especially on a Tuesday night...I think they are just, you know, transient college aged kids who think they can get by on a smile and you know what, I think I just hate Santa Cruz in general because they are just a bunch of white surfer kids who co opt beach culture. Yea.

Went with a group, tons of rolls available on the menu. Large roll pieces along with many segments per roll. The price was a little higher than some other places, but we were stuffed with 2 rolls a person. The only real complaint is that despite ordering a variety of rolls, they all tasted pretty much the same. Luckily they were amazing!

My go-to for sushi on the East Side. The menu can be a bit overwhelming because of how much they offer. They dont offer reservations but if youre in a pinch, I always enjoy sitting at the bar. Watching their chefs do their work is really impressive and they are very accommodating for any sushi inquiries you may have.

Delicious rolls and very friendly servers. My wife and I live up the street from here so we place orders for pick up and eat there pretty often. Our usual order is edamame, miso soup, the golden california roll, and the husband and wife roll. Plus they have an awesome koi pond out front. That alone gets them a star!

Not sure about the food but I showed up at 2:18 and was told they are closed sign said own till 2:30. Resturant had several people in it still. I recommend calling ahead to find out what time they stop seating because they are not "open" during posted business hours.

Everything we ordered was delicious! Our server greeted us with edamame, suggested rolls to try from their extensive menu and was very helpful throughout our meal. The ambiance was very relaxed and comfortable. Well be back soon!

I called to see if they had a table - took me literally 7 min to get there- said the table would be there and then they gave it to some one else. They need better staff. Wish I could have said I actually got to try the food. :|

Not the best place. Grade B sushi, meaning the fish is not premium. its just ok if you are looking for that sushi flavor, Ive had much much better sushi. Service was.good for how busty they were.

Best Japanese food in town. The new layout is a little weird, but thats fine. Theres plenty of tables now so you dont have to wait long to get in, and the Sushi chefs are always friendly.

I have lunch here often and love the La Selva Beach Roll!! Staff is friendly and the sushi chefs always greet you upon arrival. This place is always clean and the food is fresh.
