I always preface my reviews like this - Im no expert foodie, I dont know if I can tell exactly how fresh something is or if it was microwaved, but I do know bad vs good and my ratings are based on more than just the food, but also the service, cost, etc... Ive been to this place a couple times before and usually just eat nigiri, its always been fine, tasted good. Id always been eating with others, though, and never really noticed service (which is actually a good thing in my opinion, i mean if you dont notice them, typically means they are doing a good job). Today, I was alone and I dropped by because I was in the mood for ramen. The staff were warm and friendly. I asked to sit outside. I was attended to quickly. I checked out the different soups and ordered the Spicy Ramen, but asked the server what her favorite ramen was and she said the spicy ramen, so I continued and added saba nigiri to my order. Saba came out first, tasted great to me! I love me some saba, delicious salty fish. Soon after that the ramen came and it was super hot and looked great. As mentioned above, Im not expert on food, but I have been to both Japan and S.Korea and ate my way around as much as possible so in my opinion I think the ramen at Fuji sushi is more like a Korean ramen. The broth was thick and spicy and the proteins were seafood. Rarely can I finish a bowl of ramen, but I got pretty darn close today. The server kept my iced tea full, was quick with my check, and very friendly (I even got a compliment from one of the other servers on my adventure time wallet, thanks again, if you ever read this!) Price is comparable to other places in the area and that is fine. anyways Ill be back for sure.

It was an overall nice experience. Came in a group of 8. Restaurant are super small but located conveniently in downtown SJ near San Pedro square. They also validate for the parking lot in San Pedro square so thats a plus! It was a birthday party so we wanted to do sake bomb. But they only sell sake and beer separately. Buy 1 sake (for $4 I think), get 1 for a penny! Thats a deal right there! Food: - Bento box was huge! Totally worth the price - Sushi: on point. I had Lion King and 007 rolls. Lion King was definitely up to my standard. Service: attentive, accommodating and our server girl was superrr cuteee ;) Also, I want to compliment them on being very honorable. We came in and there was a big table available for our group of 8. However, they said they have a reservation for another group (not shown yet) so they cant seat us. Usually restaurants just accommodate whoever come first because those reservations might not show up (exactly what happened). Even though we had to wait 15, I thought that was very professional, it shows that they keep their promise.

I wandered in on a Wednesday evening with a colleague to have a quick dinner. We both had the bento boxes, both of which had salads with several bad leaves--the spinach leaves were wet and rotting, and half the lettuce was brown at the edges. As for the rest of the bento items, my colleague had his with chicken katsu, gyoza, and tempura shrimp; he said his katsu and tempura were both good, while the gyoza was meh, with a crisp exterior but a fairly bland filling. I opted for sashimi (extra $2), agedashi tofu, and unagi. The unagi and sashimi were both tasty (although the portions were very small, especially considering the added cost of the sashimi). The tofu, on the other hand, was completely inedible. Instead of being crisp, the battery was soft, oily, and rubbery--I couldnt even bite through it because it was so chewy. Between the bad salad (which makes me wonder how fresh their other ingredients are) and the poorly prepared tofu, I dont think Ill be returning. The good katsu isnt worth a repeat visit.

Review is for lunch only, havent been for dinner. This is our local sushi spot (3 min walk from our office) so we frequent here about once a week. We like our lunch breaks to be short and sweet, and this place is perfect for that. They have excellent, speedy service - we are waited on immediately, and the food comes out super fast. We typically order the lunch bento box, and spicy edamame (So much more delicious than regular edamame!). We are in and out with happy, full tummies in no time. Minus 1 star because it is a tad overpriced for lunch, but we keep coming back so its not too much of an issue (and we expense it on the company card so its a write off anyway!). Thanks Fuji!

Cute little restaurant with wonderful service. One thing that stood out for me was that the sashimi was very fresh. We also ordered some rolls and they were very good, but some had a just a tad more sauce than I prefer, thus masking away the flavor of the fish. The tables are quite close to each other. I can clearly hear the conversation at the table next to me. But the place is small so I guess they do what they can with seating. Tea cups were never empty and the servers checked up on us regularly. I would def visit again, but next time I will order mostly sashimi and nigari, as thats what appears to be their forte.

It was our 2nd visit; the first was in response to the 15% discount offered for agreeing to provide a review. Service and food are top-notch. The photos of some of their really tasty rolls dont necessarily align with the adjacent text description(s) provided. I ordered the OMG roll not realizing it was 1) a baked offering and 2) contained jalapeño peppers. Neither of which I typically enjoy. I was HOWEVER pleasantly surprised and thoroughly enjoyed every mouthful.

Their bento box is amazing prize/value. If you order the one with 3 different dishes or meats youll be seriously full. In fact, you can even share it between two people and its less than $8 per person then. Their Sushi rolls are small but really good. They go light on the rice and give you loads of fish. Also, there is very little sauce, so you really get the taste of the actual ingredients. Great place. They also take reservations.

The staff here was excellent and really are the reason why I am giving this place 3 stars instead of 2. The Toro was of poor quality, Uni was off tasting, Hamachi was not terribly fresh, the two rolls I had were doused in sauce and lacking in any real flavor. Maguro was good and Salmon was good. I had high hopes for this place based on previous reviews and they just came up short.

Best sushi in the area. Large portions, excellent service. Staff is Korean, so being able to speak in Korean won me some points. Ive taken Japanese students here before and they were in love. They even prefer Fuji to places back home. Ive been to Japan a few times, and Fujis sushi is far superior to any place Ive been in Osaka, Kyoto, or Himeji.

Nice place, friendly and rapid service. I recommend bento boxes, sashimis and salmon teryaki. On the other hand, I was a bit deceived by the choice of nigiris : overpriced and rice sometimes falls apart. Nevertheless, its my favourite restaurant in San Jose when I am there on business trip! I definitely recommend!
