My girlfriend and I were driving in piss-poor conditions on PCH. We couldnt see the cars ahead of us because of the fog and rain. We stopped at two separate cafes and both were literally shoulder to shoulder. We were starving and needed coffee. We would have settled for a doughnut shop or something, but this place appeared out of the fog. I didnt much care how the food would be, I was just excited to eat, and have a break from driving. We got there and the gallery was GORGEOUS. We walked up stairs to the cafe and were greeted and helped right away. Then came the grilled cheese... This was quite literally the best grilled cheese I had ever had. My father has been in the cheese industry my whole life, and this was the best melted cheese I have ever had. I asked what kind and one of the younger chefs came out with full information on the local creamery where they get it. The food, the tomato soup (also incredible), and the people turned my day around. If you are in need of a perfect little place to rest and grab some lunch, do yourself a favor and stop here. Thanks again guys!

After years of Being a Hwy 1 junkie, I finally came past while they were still open. Spent a couple of hours enthralled with the variety of art. Top notch granite and bronze sculptures, amazing glass, paintings, textile etc etc... Fresh owners giving a facelift. Cafe reopening soon. Just south of the main Big Sur Area. Right between low speed curves, so no traffic noise inside. Gallery attendants very knowledgeable with many years in the biz. Amazing view for whale watching or just staring at the surf. I will plan this into my trip for a layover. I bought the best glass conch I have ever seen, and a number of small wooden things. They have a huge range of prices on many kinds of art. I only really know glass, and their prices were competitive.

A complete surprise. Driving north on the PCH, you come around a downhill curve and find this little place tucked in the ravine. The art on display is all from local artisans and quite high end. Wander back through the warren of connected art galleries and you realize this place is much larger than originally thought. The cafe on the top floor serves a complete menu and the patio looking out over the Pacific ocean is wonderful place to enjoy a little rest along the road.

My boyfriend and I were on our way back from an adventure down to Oceana. We decided to drive thru Big Sur on our way home and were in dire need of some coffee. Go figure we lock the keys and our cellphones in the car. The staff was beyond friendly and so helpful with letting us use their phone even though it was closing time. Beautiful place to be stuck, or to just stop in general. Great coffee, extremely kind staff. Definitely a must stop on your Big Sur adventures!

If youre looking for a place to stop along highway 1, this is about as good as any. Cool art galleries with a fun, multi-level layout. The views are par for highway 1: spectacular. You also have plenty to choose from in terms of food and drink (especially coffee-based drinks). My biggest complaint is that it was way overpriced and the service was not good.

Fun place to stop in for a small bite or a coffee. They have an interesting art gallery with unique sculptures, quirky birdhouses and lots of wildlife art. I enjoyed sipping coffee with sitting on the 2nd floor deck and watching the big blue ocean in the distance.

I enjoyed coffee on the patio with the WORLD CLASS views while my better half enjoyed the art and the sculptures. Its well worth taking the long way up to the cafe; youll like the landscaping. The coffee tasted much better than I expected.

Wonderful and well worth the stop. Best Cappuccino I ever had and pork enchiladas was big enough for two of us. Ocean views are breathtaking from upper deck of cafe. Mel & Dolores Childers

The architecture was interesting, and I really loved the sculptures and woodworking they had for sale. Wonderful iced tea for a quick refresher before hitting the Big Sur trails.
